I have so much respect for him and for all bandmembers of Incubus. They are good people, so grounded, wise, humble, great musicians with great ethic as a band..he is very talented, and he is guitar in best soundtrack of my life
Amazing use off guitar effects too. My favourite Incubus song. Acoustic version is also amazing. Same with 'Pardon Me' acoustic version, Mike really knows how to jazz (chords) up the song where in the studio he fills the space with guitar effects and ambience.
Been a diehard Incubus fan since Science. Met the guys at a couple meet & greets over the years & they’re the most down to earth! Absolutely loved this interview & have subscribed.Dyyying to see the boys this summer for the 1st time since 2019/b4 the crazy pandemic!!
Yeah Mike. I met you and Brandon (Dreads and bongos 😜) with Kevin Zinger/ SRH shows.Great Times!! We all surfed PB SD also. Ever in Hawaii? Come by Pyzel Surfboards. ❤️🔥🤙🏼
I didn't see them play there but I met Mike and Alex at the Reseda Country Club when they were there watching Mike/Brandon's brothers' band Vent. I happened to have a disposable camera on me at the time and I got a photo with them. I'll have to dig that out. We also saw Black Eyed Peas pre-Fergie play there on a hip hop night with Hoobustank opening up the show. That was a wild venue. And let's not forget about the Cobalt! RIP. I'm proud to say I got to play there.
Mike seems like someone who can have a cool conversation with just anyone. In my opinion, he seems like someone quite but when he talks he seems very open and confident. I would love to hear who inspired him when it comes to progressive play. I would love to ask if Rush had an impact or if he likes them!
Back in the early 2000s I took lessons from a guy near Calabasas/West Valley who claimed to have taught this guy how to play- I've always wondered if the dude was BSing me or not. Hey Mike, did you take lessons from a guy that wound up privately teaching guitar in SFV circa 01? Ha, I wonder how many guitar teachers named you as their clam to fame...
I want an album that consists of Mike, Brandon, Daniel Johns, and Abe Cunningham. Maybe Flea on Bass. A modern Day Traveling Wilburys. Quarantine Quanta 😊 Yeah, that works 💪
damn dude for a successful businessman with all these companies he sure has a modest net worth. 1 million? Shit my dad retired with that much as a construction worker. !
Ummm. I haven’t had many people really think this. I’m not sure many would share this opinion. I’ve never heard it. I remember incubus fans wanting it to work and being pleasantly surprised by crow, in an unexpected way, Dirk was very good, Ben is different good. Ben is a master of how unused space can create a special element in the grove.
My favorite guitar player and revolutionary of distortion and effects.
Absolutely 💯 %

Love you Mike especially since you gave me a bottle a water during a concert at Elysee Montmartre in Paris in 2000 !
“The Warmth” could have been a single off of ‘Make Yourself.’ Amazing song, with amazing lyrics about getting through tough times and it did help me!
Agreed!
Amazing use off guitar effects too. My favourite Incubus song. Acoustic version is also amazing. Same with 'Pardon Me' acoustic version, Mike really knows how to jazz (chords) up the song where in the studio he fills the space with guitar effects and ambience.
Mike is truly a fucking genius.
Mike ❤ the best guitar player ever and the most smart one! The guy's such a little genius.
Mike is the man. Great interview, Stryker!

Man I am so glad I have found this guy and this channel
Dear Mike, please do your own podcast about your life 🙏 with guests. Oh and write another song with a 🎷solo pretty please. 😍
Awesome interview! I remember the Reseda Country Club. Sweet Skeletones and Fishbone mention! Please have Angelo from Fishbone on the show!!
"It all felt logical to me at the time" ❤
So much in this one !!!
Mike is a true Renaissance Man
Thanks for all you bring to the table
Mike Einziger🙏
Best channel on youtube and nicest guy ever doing the interviews! This channel is so underrated and deserves so many more subscribers!
Yeah Mike. I met you and Brandon (Dreads and bongos 😜) with Kevin Zinger/ SRH shows.Great Times!! We all surfed PB SD also. Ever in Hawaii? Come by Pyzel Surfboards. ❤️🔥🤙🏼
Mike is the smartest guy ever oh my god
Mike has such a Charlie Day vibe :)
Omg yes 😂😂😂😂😂
Another awesome interview

In the bands early days, Incubus was heavily influenced by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Incubus! That's all.
A lot of Incubus’ guitar work makes me think of HUM mixed with Polvo. I wonder if he was at all influenced by either of those bands
You should get in touch with dexter holland from the offspring!
Even that clap was a hit
Hmmmm Mix Halo… sounds really cool 😎

Harvard excellence?
I’m trying to read his shirt 🤔
And how can I listen to a copy of the KroQ studio session?
It says Harvard Science. The first letter of the second word is sigma which makes the S sound.
I want an album that consists of Mike, Brandon, Daniel Johns, and Abe Cunningham.
Maybe Flea on Bass.
A modern Day Traveling Wilburys.
Quarantine Quanta 😊
Yeah, that works 💪
Was the "Rashida" he was referring to in his Harvard days the actress, Rashida Jones? That would make sense.
He would have made a great doctor. Very smart like his father.
Closet cultivation is a good incubus demo album

34:41 what's a hesher?
I want to know exactly what happened with the band and Dirk Lance. I’ve always wanted to know what happened.
SCIENCE is a masterpiece, one of my favourite album of all time. Sadly, this band sucks since dirk left. They lost all their groove
