All the time I've spent working on bikes I always add a smear of grease on a nut or screw...old school...it means I have no problem undoing the same nut bolt or screw in the future...when assembled at the factory it never happens.... But 20 years later when disassembling you find bolts too loose and bolts overtightened Everything is a personal choice...
Is your bike carbed im not sure without seeing a picture of what your talking about. If you go threw all the f4i videos on my playlist your sure to find your answer.
@@mwmw5895 I redid this bike for a friend last year and am not super familiar with it without looking at it. Did you go threw the dissasembly videos I made for this bike when i rebuilt it?
@@TorrentPerformance I got to removeing the top of the airbox, intake tubes, and when I was starting to pull of the sensor plugs and vacuum lines I realized they were pretty brittle. I just spent 3 hours getting 90% there to pull and install new plugs, and had to put it all back together 😡. Damn there has to be an easier way to change spark plugs!
I had lots of trouble with those same screws holding the funnels...had to buy a replacement funnel in one case...another example of overtightening...
I think its might be more of a steel screw into a aluminum body. Happens on carbs all the time.
TorrentPerformance.......Sorry....don’t agree.....just plain and simple....over tightening....mine’s a 2002
Well either way they were very tight.
I take it that you used a JIS screwdriver , it makes a difference.

Is that gas line suppose to be hanging toward the ground like that? Wonder for my bike also wondering why you have 1 but mine has 2

@@TorrentPerformance so this is what's required just to change the spark plugs on an f4i?
@@alternateimpact81 yes you have to get to them by removing all this stuff.

@@alternateimpact81 they design it this way for a reason. Love that $100 a hour shop rate.
All I wanted to do was lube the throttle cable, WTF!
