Wow! That was so nice of you helping her unpack and also finding her dads bracelet and photos. I've never seen a reseller take the time to do that before. Usually, they are in big a rush to get to the next sale. It really says a lot about the type of person you are. Subbed! Cool finds, btw! Can't wait for the next video. 🎉
They were nice enough to let me in early, so it was the least I could do! And it definitely paid off, so we were both happy 😊 Thanks for checking out the channel! New shorts are on Mondays and videos on Fridays! Hope to see you back here!
Use the edge of a flat edged fingernail file. Insert into the top slot of the piggy bank and move in and out. You should be able to get some of the coins out of the top that way, without danaging the bank. 🙂
First time watcher and now a subscriber! I really enjoyed the video - not a lot of fluffy intro and right down to it is what I like! Really like the comps at the end and the estimated earnings. You were really nice to the family members. I would've died at that place, so much good stuff! The porcelain Christmas carolers would be coming home with me. Thanks again!
Btw , please don’t smash the piggy bank, it’s survived a long time, I love it. Try a butter knife, or the finger nail file, either should work! Love it!
You can get the change out of the little piggy bank by turning it upside down and using a thin knife tip inserted a little way into the slit. Shake the bank while juggling the knife and the coins will slip out.
That yellow custard ruffle edge compote was a good piece and will glow under black light. This is my first time watching your channel. There was a nice blue vase and 2 pieces of carnival glass.
Thanks for checking out my channel! That's good to know to keep a look out for those! Sometimes, I don't want to pick up the larger glass pieces since they might be harder to ship
That oak display case was a fantastic pickup! Matter of fact, I'd have a hard time letting that go! 💯 You may have already sold it, but I'd start The turtle lamp at $75 and go from there. The little angel you were looking at with the black head gear...there was a companion piece with red hat? You should have grabbed those 👍💯 And I would have told that woman...both of them, that I was I going through that tote and to wait their turn!!!
I haven't listed it yet & not sure if I will, yet 😅 I did end up finding similar turtle lamps on WorthPoint, so I went a bit lower, but couldn't hurt listing it higher and lowering it over time if needed. I will be on the lookout for those next time! Thanks for the advice! It wasn't ideal, but I still think that I came out pretty well! :)
First time viewer to your channel and subscribed within five minutes of viewing. You are so respectful of seller’s and family's belongings and earned the respect of the family members. It wasn't a grab fest. Your willingness to help and friendly demeanor not only helped a grieving family but also gained at least one new acquaintance who appears to be a reseller. I enjoy going to estate sales to see what's being sold but mostly to meet and interact with other like minded folks. Enjoy seeing folks like you at the sales. Very nice video and very nice haul. So glad you found the antique display case and sterling matchbox cover!
Thank you so much for checking out the video and leaving this very nice comment! I hope to see you back here and hope you have a great rest of the week as well! 😄
Love the Display case, cookie jar at 19:09 if that had a brand on it and a lid, it might have been worth a lot? It looked intriguing. Coins in mini piggy bank, use a small blade from a pocket knife to fish the coins out. Feels like pennies?? But I would like very much to see close up pics of the coins. My guess on date range of the coins: 1930-1957, let's see how close I am. Does the piggy bank have any value on its own? If not use that mini hammer on it 😂
The display case was definitely a great find and it looks like the cookie jar goes for about $30 or so. I just didn't really want to have to ship it 🙃 I'll try fishing them out first, but the piggy bank doesn't go for much, about $6-$8, so the mini may be helpful 😂 I'll post another video and see how close you are! I'm hoping you're right!
@@GarageSaleGoldmine yeah even some older vintage Clear, White and Yellow glass pieces will glow green that means they have uranium in them the yellow ones are called Vaseline glass.
Good start on your new channel. One tip though, make sure the item you are looking at is in the center frame. A couple of times we couldn’t see what you were unwrapping and looking at. Good luck! Suzanne
I like this! Just subscribed! I love true "estate sales" that are advertised as a "yard sales", and are being conducted by family members of the deceased. I would have spent WAY MORE time inside the house when they invited you in. Swung vase is Fenton "Boggy Bayou" in Plum Opalescent.
Thanks you so much for watching the video and checking out the channel! I had no clue on what to expect when I got there! I would have spent more time inside as well, but unfortunately they asked everyone to go back out since there were too many people inside. That's what I was thinking! How do you know for sure if it's a Fenton piece? Any specific indicators?
@@GarageSaleGoldmine - I have a collection of over 1,500 pieces of Fenton, been collecting it for many years, and I also have many reference books regarding Fenton. I knew what it was the moment I saw it in your video. An ordinary person (non glass collector) will likely NOT know what it is.
@@wizloon9052 wow! You really know your stuff! With me not being a glass expert by any means, I knew the piece was higher quality. Thanks for confirming that the piece is Fenton! 😁
Wow , I think you absolutely got some garage sale gold! I believe the vase is called a swung vase , and worth a pretty penny, I can barely see it, but if I were you I’d do some more research, hope that helps. On the turtle lamp, I would price it on the higher end, maybe between 80.00 to 100.00 , I always list on the higher end and see if it gets a lot of interest, if not you can always lower the price, but it’s harder to increase the price, plus someone always wants to haggle the price, so give yourself some room. I love all of the smalls , they are adorable. I enjoyed your video and I subscribed, I’ll keep watching! Thanks 😊
Thanks for checking out the video and subscribing! You are correct, this is a swung vase and I was correct that it was made by Fenton! It hasn't sold yet, but should get me over $120! I sold the turtle lamp for about $60, but I agree with you, that you should list things a bit higher and lower them later as needed! Hope to see you back here again!!
Good man for helping them out. Good finds. Don't think that vase is Fenton, maybe Italy ? Yes I would put the turtle lamp for 60 and take a 50 offer maybe.❤❤ mark it high, you can always go down, but never go up.
You’re like a little squirrel with a little squirrel nest of trinkets😂 Glad to find another reseller who can make more calming videos to watch while I list.
Spilt milk by Hagen Renaker. Worth about 20 bucks. Hagen renaker is rarely marked as thy came glued to a cardboard tag that gave the information. I look for shiny pieces that have the paper still glued to them on the feet.
Just an fyi, you should bring the items you find out to the front of your camera/gopro. So we can see what was found? Would make it a bit more interesting. 🙂
Don't smash the piggy bank. Just turn it over and shake until the coins fall out the slot. They went in that way so they should come out that way. It will take a little while to get them all.
Wow! That was crazy! You helped unpack, found her dad’s bracelet and photo! Very cool 😎 then scored on a bunch of treasure! Hell yes, if the bank doesn’t really have value let’s see if there are old coins! Old coins are awesome 🤩 Great finds!! I’m not a glass expert either but that vase is 100% money.
It was just a great day! That's what I'm thinking for with the bank! Who knows what could be inside!?! From my limited research, it appears to be Fenton, but either way, it's a beautiful piece!!
I showed up early and saw other shoppers inside, so I politely asked if I could come in. The ladies running the sale (who were all from out of town) were having the sale due to a death of a family member. I was more than willing to help them unpack their items since they allowed me in early.
You were Kind to help them separate the items in the boxes. Finding things they wanted desperately. Bless you.. Love the Turtle lamp best of all..
Thank you so much! That was very nice of you to say :) I was very happy to find the turtle lamp!

The large vase looks to me like plum opalescent glass. Yes get a antique booth that’s a great idea.
I think I'm going to have a garage sale and set up at the flea market first. Then I will see if I need to get a booth :)

That's a blue Fenton flower vase. Some good relative value if no chips or cracks.🙂
One small chip, overall in very nice condition!

Put a black light on both vases and see if they have a glow. The bigger one might glow orange or red like fire.
Unfortunately, neither of the pieces glow, but good to know for future pieces that I pick up!

How long had the house been empty?
I'm really not sure. Doesn't seem like it was too long.
