Awesome build. Im fixing to tackle this same project. I have a sweet 02 with its 3rd broken 4r100 so I picked up a 99 flatbed dually with a zf6 so im ready to go! Ive only removed and replaced the auto trans once myself is my only prior experience so im kinda nervous what huge project!
The manual trans harrness only has one plug that goes to the auto main harness on the truck two pins have to be jumped for the neutral safety switch on the second plug from main harness everything works as it should tho it’s worth the time for the swap tho 👍🏻
I'm curious is anything different between engine's I have a bad manual shift engine and I found a good engine from a automatic will a automatic engine bolt to a manual transmission

As long as they are both 7.3 Engines yes it will bolt up
