Nothing beats a classic court (or pump). They are acceptable to be worn in the professional field as you stated or totally rock a pants suit. They're a shoe that can always be relied on. I remember how excited I was when I got my first pair, like a right of passage into womanhood. Although I own some sling-backs, they have a tendency to slide down, whether adjustable or not. Must be the shape of my heels? I've never had trouble with pants getting caught under my heels when wearing mules, a new one on me! I bought a nice sandal that has the two bands going across the top to match a dress, one band at the toes and the other further up to keep the shoe supported. Well, the one near the toes causes quite alot of pain as it's positioned in a way that digs in to the side of my little toes. I don't care what fashion suggests, I'm not going to have sore feet for anyone. I live in the Southern Hemisphere where it's Autumn and the environment in which I live, these shoes are not appropriate at all. As long as I have my endless variety of ankle boots at this time, I'm happy - especially with some pants or jeans and a leather jacket. We all have our own taste, live in very different places and carry out a variety of work each day. I doubt that anyone can take these suggestions seriously, unless they're desperate to be noticed. Even then, I doubt anyone would care. I'm sure we're all mature enough to decide for ourselves what to put on our feet around the world!💖🕊
I don't care what's considered "in style", "out of style", or "last season"......... I'm wearing whatever I want. I refuse to let society dictate what I'm putting on my body.
It’s funny because I was shoe-shopping at TJ Maxx recently and saw some of the puffy sandals out, and I felt like they were already out of style. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the puffy sandals trend won’t last very much longer. I guess we’ll see!
I work in healthcare and am on my feet all day. Crocs have been a lifesaver! They wash off easily, are super comfortable, and are perfect with my scrubs. I swear by them!😊
Mostly agree with you and I love all your “in” styles but as a curvier woman who is 5’4”, I have to sacrifice looking long and lean versus being on trend. Ankle sneakers with shorter jeans are a no go, square toed shoes are generally a no go in any color other than nude, slides for the most part make me look short and stocky….ugh. I think taking these recommendations into account along with knowing your body shape and style is the key!
I was thinking the same thing. The poster is quite long and lean with a regular or narrow foot. I am NOT in that world at all. I am very grateful I have feet and legs at all, but the truth of the matter is most people could not be foot models.
As an educator let me say that Crocs are very much in style. Everyone from staff to students wear them on a weekly basis, they’re comfortable & durable. Not to mention they clean easily! To each there own though
I don't know why they're so popular, I can't stand them myself but they are very much in style. Like they actually had a resurgence. I see knock-offs of all different types of colors and styles.
@@hotnerdcarlthis is true! Went to a croc store last week & it was crowded. They’ve also gone up in price which a good thing for business bad for me the consumer lol. Goes to show that the popularity is still rising
Square toe is a no-go for me. I think they're heading out or are out. The only square toe that I think will endure is on ballet flats. The white Birkenstocks though for the beach, etc. Yes! Thanks for recommending them.
@@dianeoravec4345 The extreme square toe sandals are ugly. However, the ones which are tapered at the sides (hard to explain) do look nice. I have two Jimmy Choo knotted sandals with the square toe and I love them!
I feel like over here on the west coast, a lot of those have already come and gone. You see them a lot at the discount stores like TJ MAXX. The puffy ones, especially. Also, VANS will never go. They are a classic just like the Reebok classic...which I also love.
I'm not criticizing your video - I love a good trend video no matter what it's regarding. What I've learned though, over the years, is not to invest much in a trend. Trends come and go so fast now, I try to stay away from spending a lot on what's "hot". Otherwise, you really date yourself. Now that I'm older, I try to stick to the classics.
Everyone has different preferences, in terms of what types of shoes they like to wear each day. Just do you, and wear whatever you like without caring about following trends. I don’t always agree with Shea, and that’s okay because I will wear what I want to wear even if certain things that she does mentioned goes out of style. Yes, I agreed investing money on classic pieces is well worth it when it comes to cost per wear and quality longevity of the item.
Vans are here to stay... they’ll never go out of style. Especially the classic colors. 😅 Nike Blazers and court vision Alta are probably more in style where I live than the Nikes you showed. But, I love the other options you gave and agree- TB flats and the round toe pumps are definitely out. Love the sling backs!!
Sorry, but the square open shoes will always look like duckfeet too me. I have seen versions of those sandals with a normal shape which I love though. Also I cannot wear normal pumps, but slingbacks do work. Love that there are a lot more to choose from now.
I'm 55 and I could care less what's in or out. If I like it I wear it. I have flat feet and cannot wear traditional heels. I get height from my wedge booties and wedge sneakers. I always try to add something trendier to it for balance. They're easy to wear with dressy casual and comfortable. Especially since I work in Healthcare Administration. Vans too. Wear what makes you feel and look good! I definitely wear what works for ME and makes ME feel good. I think there is a way to incorporate older styles without looking dated or frumpy! Do you Boo!❤❤😉
Pointed toe pumps NEVER go out of style, especially in black or nude. As long are they are not platform and the heel is not super high, you're fine. This girl clearly isn't in the corporate world, so she wouldnt know these things.
Am I the only person in the world who finds peep-toes painful to wear? They always cut into my toes so that the skin is broken after just a little bit of walking. Actually ditto slingbacks - painful! Something I find incredibly difficult to navigate is the toe style that's in fashion each season/year. I know it doesn't really matter, but sometimes I can't figure out why my outfit seems dated, until I realise it's the 'wrong' toe. That's why I love those ballet flats you showed, with the slightly squared off toe. Kind of middle of the road style toe, not so easily dated, and very pretty.
Shea, not to say you're into politics but a lot of people wont/don't buy Nike. Can you review shoes like adidas? We won't buy Nike, but love adkdas. Would love to see more trending items from that brand. Thanks! Love your videos!
I don't think Keds or Van's will ever go out of style either. I have to wear shoes for comfort. I have always liked the strap heals. Thanks for another great video and may you have a Blessed day.
Keds and Vans have been around forever and are timeless. Vans Old Skools are pretty much like Converse at this point. As long as there are kids, people will be wearing them. I've seen this for 20+ years with Converse, every young kid owns a pair at some point and adults wear them as well and they are not too expensive.
What’s in style or out of style doesn’t faze me anymore. I wear what I want or like. This past winter, I’ve seen guys wearing shorts with flip flops with snow on the ground! 😂🤷♀️
Fun video, some good suggestions. For a work/office environment, pumps are always more appropriate than most of what was mentioned. I also love slingback, but hope that everyone wearing them takes care of their feet/heels before wearing. No-one wants to see dry heels in any of the exposed heel options.
Oh good point! I had a pair I would wear pretty frequently and didn’t think about that. Luckily I didn’t have dry heels then, but I was just watching a vid on hands & feet skincare and they’re a bit dry now. Some sling backs are really uncomfortable but that’s true for any style heel. Have a good one!
Haha shoe trends. They come and go so quick. This is the third video I've seen in as many days. And they don't all agree. I think you really have to wear whatever is comfortable and fits your style. Also make sure they are clean and in good repair. If they are you can hang onto them until they come back in style
Totally agree. I have a high end doing toe wedge shoe that I don’t wear anymore but will keep when it goes back into trend since it still looks brand new and is great quality.
This! At this point, i watch the videos because I love Shea and I'm obsessed with her content. But i wear what I like not what's trendy. The videos from one youtuber also contradict themselves within a few months
Agree. Pumps are not going anywhere. There is a reason they have sold consistently. Maybe not as much during COVID because people weren’t going to work but for business meetings, interviews, etc. that’s the safe choice.
i got feet problems and i had a ankle fracture… so for me i’m going with brands and style that are orthopedic and proven to help reduce pain in the back, the knee and the ankle. I just discovered the brand ON, it’s made in Canada and so minimalistic and stylish.
Good thing you’re videos are light-hearted, because most of this is just personal preference. I happen to really dislike the “in style” mules with chunky heels, plastic/rubber sandals, puffy braided options, and the high tops were hideous 😂. However, love the Nike daybreaks!
All the shoes she mentioned to not wear, I feel like people been stop wearing years ago. Especially wedge sneakers, like that was 2010 lol. However, Van's classic will always be in style.
So a classic pump is out, but another shoe that has a “90’s vibe” is in😂😂😂😂😂. These videos are fun to watch, I’m definitely not with the in crowd though😂
Keds and Vans will always be in style. I do have all different styles like Nikes, Reeboks, Adidas, and even the more expensive brands like Vejas and RL. Oh, NB and Pumas. Can you tell that I love sneakers 🤣🤣🤣
The black sling-backs were cute. And when you showed the bright pink slingbacks with the light wash jeans, it took me back to spring 1985 in Mexico when the hot trend was neon high heels with acid wash jeans (well, pretty much neon everything for that matter, both clothing and accessories). Fun memories!
Absolutely maniacal to make a 2023 sneakers video without including adidas gazelles and sambas- the it shoes of the year so far. They’re pretty nice and lower profile too which your audience tends to prefer if the comments are any indication. I highly recommend checking those out for any of you who don’t want the giant chunky sneakers
These are all great options! Not very practical for my personal lifestyle. I live in a place where I walk everywhere (to run errands, to get to the subway, etc.) and I cannot take 5 steps outside in a shoe that doesn't have a back or an ankle strap holding my foot in place, never mind to run errands or get to work. Would love to see more options for people who live in walkable cities!
I refuse to be dictated to by the fashion industry and influencers, when you get to a certain age and have seen these styles soooo many times you think, wow I’m being conned out of so much money just to look the way they want me to and I’ll just think for myself in future, because what won’t be popular one year will be back again another, just be yourself and wear whatever makes you feel happy. 😊
I suffered so many blistered heels from slingbacks in my 20s that I swore off them forever. 😅 I don't care what moleskin or gel pads you try to add, they're just not worth the discomfort.
I’ll agree with *most* of these… except I just can’t get behind square toes! If you want a quality ballet flat- I can’t say enough about Rothy’s. Sizing is weird, but once you figure yours out (usually up 1 or 1.5 sizes) they are heaven and washable. I will not do regular crocs 🙅🏻♀️ … but the crocs slides are great! I sold my Eva Birks for them. But regular Birks are still the best summer sandal imo!
Just bought Vans (first pair) and Converse All Stars (upteenth pair). They are comfy and adorable and I will enjoy wearing them until the snow flies :)
Hey Shea, what brands would you recommend for a narrow foot? All these shoes are too wide, even ballet flats and the ones with an adjustable strap, my foot comes right out. Thx!
Woven square toe shoes are so out in my opinion, feels like Bottega Veneta for a couple years ago. Slingback pumps also stuck under your heel if you wear them with longer trousers. But it is fun to watch the video.
I just picked up a pair of ballet flats since I also saw they are trending, it’ll be the perfect closed toed summer shoe for when I don’t have a fresh pedicure lol. Also I will never stop wearing vans! They’re always in style with so many colors to pick from
I wore Vans in the 90’s, 00’s, 10’s, and still wear them. I have work Vans, daily Van’s, and going out Van’s. We went out in NYC, and I chose comfort and wore Van’s.
Sorry but Vans will always be my favorite! The slip ons once you break them in are so comfy. I love that I can just throw them on with leggings and jeans or even shorts!
Yes! The hem of my trousers and jeans keep getting stuck under my heel when wearing mules, its the most uncomfortable, annoying thing ever. Im so glad somebody at last pointed it out!
Love these ideas...for me, I just don't get the 'wear' out of square toe shoes. They look fresh when I first get them, but then it seems that they move 'out' faster than other styles, so I might find a super-budget friendly version vs an investment shoe. But that's what the back of the closet is for. :)
I appreciate your videos! I work from home and am always wearing athleisure because I work out most days. But it's nice to reference your videos when I have to buy an outfit to go out. Thank you!
There’s more to wearing shoes than how it looks. Some can only wear certain shoes because they have foot conditions. So wear shoes because of its comfort and value, not because it’s more stylish.
I love the sling back pumps! They are the only pump I wear! I just ordered some ballet flats for a gala in a garden where heals would not be appropriate (lots of rocky paths). I love the low round toed shoes.
I have a lot of Crocs, but none of them are the classic garden shoe style. I was so disappointed when Crocs decided to discontinue all their styles EXCEPT the garden shoes and sandals. The ones I own were ballet flats, huaraches, even high heels. No one ever guessed they were Crocs, but as someone who was on my feet all day long, I really appreciated their comfort while maintaining a professional appearance.
I was so sad about that too. I did just get a pair of the flats on the "crocks at work" section of their website and they do have some of their wedges still
OMG, me too. I have so many cute Croc wedges, sandals, slip-on's, and dock/ked tie-up style shoes. I wish they would go back to making styles beyond the clogs. Heck, I don't even own a classic clog Croc.
Nordstrom is one of the only places to find size 4 in women's shoes! My go to shoe store for decades. You make it through these videos on a single breath is sounds like! Thanks Shea.
Hi Whitney! I have wide feet and wear a size 11 and have a hard time finding shoes that fit.I have discovered the store Torrid but not sure if they are stylish. Can you check them out and make suggestions on what to wear and what not to wear?

So true. Same type of body style here and it’s fun to hear her trendy recs but looking in the mirror at myself most of these will be a no go..
I was thinking the same thing. The poster is quite long and lean with a regular or narrow foot. I am NOT in that world at all. I am very grateful I have feet and legs at all, but the truth of the matter is most people could not be foot models.
Gosh I agree totally. I'm 5 foot almost 3 and struggle with square toe for sure. I did lk the ballet flat.
Yes!
I dont think theyre in style as much as theyre just a super functional shoe...I ONLY use them for work (in a hospital) haha
I actually think they have had a comeback at the min they have also made a lot of new styles
I was looking for this comment because Crocs have been dropping different styles like crazy! They're everywhere.
@@hotnerdcarlthis is true! Went to a croc store last week & it was crowded. They’ve also gone up in price which a good thing for business bad for me the consumer lol. Goes to show that the popularity is still rising
Would love to see sandals and shoes options which *aren't* braided.
Vans and Pumps will never go out of style, on the West Coast.
Thanks 🤗
Square toe is a no-go for me. I think they're heading out or are out. The only square toe that I think will endure is on ballet flats. The white Birkenstocks though for the beach, etc. Yes! Thanks for recommending them.
Exactly! I feel like the square toe as well as the puffy braided wannabe BV are becoming very dated and not in a timeless way 🙅🏼♀️
I don't like square toes either
I think they are unflattering and hideous . So weird.
I love your recommendations, but not the square toe. Square toes on a sandal just look weird!
@@dianeoravec4345 The extreme square toe sandals are ugly. However, the ones which are tapered at the sides (hard to explain) do look nice. I have two Jimmy Choo knotted sandals with the square toe and I love them!
I think sling backs are for spring and summer and pumps are for fall and winter. They are the simple perfect shoe in any heel height for any occasion.
I feel like over here on the west coast, a lot of those have already come and gone. You see them a lot at the discount stores like TJ MAXX. The puffy ones, especially. Also, VANS will never go. They are a classic just like the Reebok classic...which I also love.
Trends are for the masses, Style is for individuals.
Yup. It’s best to dress what looks and feels best on you. Regardless of what’s in and what isn’t.
Don't let anyone tell you what to wear make style your own.
Stiletto pumps never go out of style because they are classic 😉
I feel attacked when she say this. EVERYONE still use stilettos, I don't know what the hell she's talking about. Nonsense Gen Z.
Vans are always in style. Crocs on the other hand are hideous 😂 Great video!
I agree
Nobody wears them in Europe
Pointed toe pumps NEVER go out of style, especially in black or nude. As long are they are not platform and the heel is not super high, you're fine. This girl clearly isn't in the corporate world, so she wouldnt know these things.
I do not like the "puffy strap" on anything. They are going to go out of style and then be hated.
landfill.
100 percent agree.
I won't buy Nike.
Likewise!
Same here, #boycottNike
I’m with you!! No more Nike for me. Adidas cloud foam are super comfy!
Pumps will Never out of style. These are classics.
I don't think Keds or Van's will ever go out of style either. I have to wear shoes for comfort. I have always liked the strap heals.
Thanks for another great video and may you have a Blessed day.
They are one of the classics. I'm also planning to buy classic dr martens boots.
A classic black pointy toe pump will never go out of style, they’re classic!
Keds never go out of style. They go with everything!
I love the Keds, Nikes and Reebok's. They're comfortable.😊
Some good advice. I know the knotted slides are in but to me they look like bedroom slippers. I’m not jumping on board.
Yes I agree with you, they do look like slippers.😀
Agree, made the same comment, the square toe front is ugly.
Sling backs have always been classic and are nice for spring.
There’s classics and there’s trends and pumps will always be a classic!
Agreed
My favorite sandals are espadrilles. They are so stylish and are neither in nor out and look great with everything.
Idk they just look like you cut off the back of a pump. Why not just wear the pump? 😭 idk sling backs look cheaper imo
Wow! I usually disagree with everything stylists say is in or out of style, but I completely agreed with EVERYTHING you said!
Idc if they’re in style or not I’m rocking my classic canvas Keds forever! 😝💕
YES!, plain, leather pumps will always be in style.
I’m 65, wear my 4 to 5 inch heels at least 4 times a week.
Agree. Pumps are not going anywhere. There is a reason they have sold consistently. Maybe not as much during COVID because people weren’t going to work but for business meetings, interviews, etc. that’s the safe choice.
You can never go wrong with a classic pump
I’m an Adidas fan myself, they really have a variety.
I love me some classic white and black Van's! But I love you share your opinions Shea, and I am here for it!!!!😊❤
i got feet problems and i had a ankle fracture… so for me i’m going with brands and style that are orthopedic and proven to help reduce pain in the back, the knee and the ankle.
Yes!! I disliked every shoe she said was in, but still love almost all the ones she said were out🤣
All the shoes she mentioned to not wear, I feel like people been stop wearing years ago. Especially wedge sneakers, like that was 2010 lol. However, Van's classic will always be in style.
So a classic pump is out, but another shoe that has a “90’s vibe” is in😂😂😂😂😂. These videos are fun to watch, I’m definitely not with the in crowd though😂
Haha I totally understand...just sharing!!!
Slingbacks never go out of style. They make your foot look beautiful!
Omg I remember loving those when I was in college - way back when.
@@feistyunicorn1855 everything comes back round again. if you like it, might as well just keep wearing it
I thought the same
These are all great options!
KEDS never go out of style.
Agreed. I loved the look in my 20s but I won't do it to myself again
Thank you for saying it. Slingbacks are ridiculously uncomfortable
Have you tried the Converse Chuck 70s yet? They’re a tad pricier but I hear they are more comfortable
@@thegillmachine I have not. Saw photo though and they are cute. But alas I'm a low top girl :)
In my opinion… besides the “trend”…that shoes has to fit the person’s personality and must compliment the body type.
Hey Shea, what brands would you recommend for a narrow foot? All these shoes are too wide, even ballet flats and the ones with an adjustable strap, my foot comes right out. Thx!
Don’t say out of style. Style is timeless. Fashion is what you refer to.
Woven square toe shoes are so out in my opinion, feels like Bottega Veneta for a couple years ago. Slingback pumps also stuck under your heel if you wear them with longer trousers. But it is fun to watch the video.
Wear what you want. That is real style. Geeesshhh
I just picked up a pair of ballet flats since I also saw they are trending, it’ll be the perfect closed toed summer shoe for when I don’t have a fresh pedicure lol. Also I will never stop wearing vans! They’re always in style with so many colors to pick from
Where I live, ballet glass have been in style since I started noticing - at least 30 years. In France, you would need to go back more decades.
Love the look of slingbacks, but I struggle with keeping the straps up. Does anyone have any tips to help with that?
Love my ballet flats from Sam Edelman, they are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, and so cute and they come in so many colors!!!!
Classic pumps never go out of style. You have to accept the fact that Catherine Princess of Wales is a style icon and that is what she wears!!!
Agree! That's the kind of shoes i love to wear...classy
Yeah saying a classic is out of style is so ironic. She should have instead focused on the on-trend attributes of a good pump.
If you like dressing like you are 90 then yeah, she will be a style inspiration
Classic items will never go out of style. 🙂
The shoes 👠 will never be out of style
Yes! The hem of my trousers and jeans keep getting stuck under my heel when wearing mules, its the most uncomfortable, annoying thing ever. Im so glad somebody at last pointed it out!
Yes!
Pumps will NEVER go out of style.
Love these ideas...for me, I just don't get the 'wear' out of square toe shoes. They look fresh when I first get them, but then it seems that they move 'out' faster than other styles, so I might find a super-budget friendly version vs an investment shoe. But that's what the back of the closet is for. :)
I agree. Square toed shoes just don't stay in fashion very long. I had one pair of ankle boots years ago and I was sorry I bought them.
Classic pumps never go out of style.
Can you show/recommend sandals with straps around the heel? Surely I'm not the only one who needs it for stability. Thxs
Crocs are a staple in my house
Kate Middleton was just, like two days ago, in the black pumps at the bottom in the “out” column.🤔
Nordstrom is one of the only places to find size 4 in women's shoes! My go to shoe store for decades. You make it through these videos on a single breath is sounds like! Thanks Shea.
I’m glad you mentioned that crocs are out. I’ve always hated them. I’m curious to know what you think of the Nike Cortez shoe?
Love ya girl, and I love your videos but Vans are always going to be classic 👍🏻🫶🏻
Vans are always in style in the south, too. All colors and variations. Classic.
I'm sorry girl, Vans will always be in style
Just curious, that is a beautiful stone on your hand. Can you tell me what size diamond that is? It’s gorgeous.
A CLASSIC can never go out of style... timeless. ...VANS
Hi Whitney! I have wide feet and wear a size 11 and have a hard time finding shoes that fit.I have discovered the store Torrid but not sure if they are stylish. Can you check them out and make suggestions on what to wear and what not to wear?
Adidas sambas are the in thing now
