- Anthem of the Empire of Vietnam (Traditional). It may be difficult for us westerners to enjoy but it is Traditional Vietnamese music (it is the anthem of Imperial Vietnam) before Vietnam was destroyed by Communism. It is good to listen to foreign music because it makes one more cultured which is something a Monarchist ought to be. To help you get through it I put some beautiful paintings (some of them are traditional Vietnamese silk paintings) of Vietnamese landscape. Enjoy.

The vietnamese loves the imperial history and emperors(except emperor Bảo Đại who is viewed as a traitor) and the acutely teaches the royal history in schools in a positive light.
Wasn't it called Indochina? Please correct me if I'am wrong.
Indochina was the name of the French colony that encompassed Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. However I think that when this anthem came into use it was while Vietnam was part of Indochina (The French would keep the Monarchs of their new colonies for stability).
And what the country was called by them self, was Kingdom of Lan Xang Hom Khao.

You are right, somehow. Empire of Vietnam ANTHEM is another song, different from the royal Nguyen Dynasty royal music, which is this. Name can be misleading sometimes.
