This is 2021: Video evaluations like this convince me that car reviewers are really out of touch with reality. They complain that a FAMILY SEDAN doesn't have "sporty" handling or "best-in-class" acceleration. WTF? Not all of us drive like we're on a race course. For some of us, "sporty handling" and/or quick acceleration is not a priority. (But yes, torque-steer is bad with this thing.) I drive Uber/Lyft. Just got rid of my 2012 VW Jetta TDI - found a super-nice Chrysler 200 Limited with 70,000 miles for $12k. I didn't expect to like it, but this car is GREAT for ride-share. The leather interior is very impressive to the passengers - makes them think they're in a more upscale car. Chrysler must've listened to the critics, because mine has auto down/up on both front windows, and touch-screen radio with nav. One thing I love about this car is how quiet it is compared to the VW TDI. The ride/handling of the 200 is fine, and...so far, at least...the V6 is giving me 19mpg in the city. Personally, I think Chrysler did a pretty good job with the 200. We'll see how it goes, but i I can get another 100,000 miles out of this thing, I'll be very happy - sporty ride or not ;)
Very negative review. I thought this car with a V6 was awesome. it handled road imperfections better than any I've drove in this class and it is quiet at highway speeds. After just spending a week with a 2015 Camry SE I don't see what all the hype is about. It's really nothing special.
Torque steer? I'd say you are rather exaggerating it. I have one and have driven several.....very minimal. Straight line acceleration? It moves like a hell on wheels! 0 -60 6.3 seconds. Camry cannot smoke it! Your review is a total failure!

@@PaulsPlace What sort of cheap mods? I'm currently the proud owner of a 2012 200 S and would LOVE to know of cheap, easy ways to eek a little more power out of her.
I bought a white 2013 200 Touring. 2.4 four cylinder. My Chrysler drives and handles pretty well. Iove the way it drives. With the 18 inch wheels it looks good. I've had it for four years now and it has been quite dependable. I do not care what he says. I still like it better than the Honda or Toyota.
We would never hate on a brand, the 200 is simply just out-shined by such great choices in the family sedan class. We know Chrysler can do better, we're mighty impressed with the new Grand Cherokee and have high hopes for the replacement for this vehicle.

He contradicts his own claims, not knowing whether or not the 200 S was a separate trim level. At first he says that this is a 200S trim, which this car isn't, and that it's comparable to a limited, which it is not either, since it's a Touring trim with the S package. The actual S model has about half the features he claimed this car didn't offer, and many other features he claimed it didn't have were even on the car he drove. He whines about the base-model stereo as if it's any different from what you'd get in the base model of another midsize car. He makes a ridiculous claim about the Honda Accord, Volkswagen Passat, and Toyota Camry being faster than it, claims the windows are only automatic-down... the list goes on. He spends the rest of the video whining about literally every detail of the car without giving any actual comparison or even explanation of why he thinks each thing is "bad", complaining about features that every other review has praised, like the controls on the back of the steering wheel. He obviously is one of those people who will just give something a bad review because he has an arbitrary bias toward a different brand, and should not be making video "reviews" of anything.
The Chrysler 200 actually has got a lot of history and story behind it. To each his own. I drove a rental 200 thinking it was going to be a complete pos ... and honestly the ride/handling and noise suppression was impressive to say the least ... in fact the thing that stuck out the most was the supple quiet ride and how well it was able to handle in spite of this.
Bought my son the cheapest 200, $15k and it had all the creature comforts. After 9 years and 200k kms, it’s still running strong. A few problems here and there but very impressive for a cheap car. Plenty of room, AC still blows ice cold and the car wintered in Sudbury. So i am impressed, sure the Honda Accord or Camry are much nicer and better cars but it was half the price!
The Sebring name had been a nameplate since 1994. It was a coupé using mostly Mitsubishi parts under the Diamond-Star Treaty that's been in effect since 1971 between Chrysler & Mitsu. In the 1990s the Sebring was the replacement for the long running LeBaron. Additionally, the coupé iteration if the Sebring had a short lived twin called the Dodge Avenger. The convertible iteration of the 1990s Sebring only used 1/3 the parts from Mitsu and ran on a platform separate from the coupés, based upon the infamous cab-forward Cloud Cars (Breeze/Stratus/Cirrus). The name Sebring itself first came to Chrysler in the mid-70s fuselage era as a trim level for the Plymouth Satellite.
Dumb review...that isn't "the top trim." The top trim with S package has leather interior, boston acoustics sound system, sun roof, touch screen radio, automatic windows (down) for passenger side as well. You're essentially reviewing a car with the S package, but base interior!

The majority of people who buy this car, especially the 4cyl variant, are bargain basement buyers with bad credit or rental car fleets. Chrysler deeply discounts these cars. I remember seeing a 200S for 19,995. An LX 4 banger for 14,995. That was 5 years ago, mind you, but the premise is still valid.
I rented a 2013 200 while my Mazda 3 was getting the bumper fixed, and was thoroughly impressed with the handling and steering feel. I think Chrysler updated the handling for 2013. I liked it, gas mileage just sucked ass.
Yes but the 2012-13 S model made 297 HP and these were little rockets 🚀, I would love to see someone start making some performance packages for these cars motors .
Was that all the car would do, I mean, is it limited at 120 or is that just where you stopped. I ask, because the dart will do 120 mph and it has a 1.4 liter..
I haven't tested my car, but everyone I talk to that has same car, says the Dart is limited at 120, but I have seen videos of them hitting 126. But, talking a bout V6 motors, I had my old Eclipse GT ( 2006 ) to 137-ish..
Exactly. 283 horsepower 3.6 liter I've had mine to 120 and I slowed down scared to get a ticket, but this car will likely get 135-140 top speed no doubt.
Got a 2011, put Firestone Firehawks on it, K&N filters, 3" exhaust...straight up left an 09 mustang gt on a twisty road. No one gets how well they handle. I love my 200s. Oh, put good tires on it and torque steer goes away. Also, drive it like a man and you dont give a shit about it.
LOL everyone who commented about how much it sucks has never driven it. Yeah it looks a lot like the Sebring, I like the look of the S trim. Also everyone everyone who was ripping on him saying it's not the limited S, of course not. He didn't say it was, he said it was the S Trim "comparable to a limited" "it's at the top of the TRIM line". To all those who were waiting on the 2015, I'd say it's a pass for the current price, I heard they see the shop alot although that's just what I heard. It looks good but honestly it just looks alot like the dart but better. I bought a 2014 200 S not knowing the 2015 model changed nor that my same exact car has been around since 2011...Although I wish I'd known that, I'm still happy with my purchase, I got it much cheaper due to the new year model however I could've gotten it cheaper going back a couple years. But the low millage and abuse makes up for that for the time being. It's surely strong, the ride is smooth. I think people hate on this car because it looks like a sebring, it's a lazy attempt at a remodel sure but you can't deny it's ride if you've driven one. Being said I wouldn't even think of a 200 outside of the S trim, they look boring and often ugly, let's not forget the 4 cyl, I won't even go there.
I hve the 2011 hardtop convertible. . its nice. Really like the sound system, runs great, . But its a nightmare to wrk on. . the breaks are easier to do than replacing a headlight bulb. . . I do like the car tho, and it does hve some pretty decent power on the road. .the sport shift makes passing on the highway a breeze
My mom bought this car for my sister in 2014 and they told her it was a 2014 model but now I see they lied because it didn’t have a touch screen 🙄 still a good car though
I just hate how lately he drives every car like he's at the damn Nürburgring, not every car was meant to drive like a rocket, plus some of us are looking to see how cars are for everyday commuting, not how they can rip down the freeway in x amount of seconds. I miss the old reviews where he drove cars normally so we got more of an idea of how they drive on a day to day basis. Cars like Mustangs and Civic Sis I can understand because that's why people get them but I'm pretty sure most people don't buy a 200 for the smoking performance, I sure didn't. Just a suggestion but please try to cater to more conservative drivers as well!
lol dude you're not driving a Benz. For a cheap, normal midsize sedan this car is excellent. And sorry but I've smoked Toyota Camry's and Accord's with my 2012 200 3.6 Touring.
Oh its the worst. I have the 200's twin (Dodge Avenger) and it whines and usually shifts before I'm ready. I think its more of a higher revving spot than 'manual mode'
I figured it out. It's manual shift. You move the stick to the right to upshift and to the left to go down. It whines so much because that's the safety feature; if you dont shift by redline, it'll do it for you. It also won't let you down shift into redline or upshift into a stall.
@2theRedlineLLC It's Nathan, the one that asked about the Mustang a couple of months ago. I was wondering if you guys can please do a review of the 2013 (not the '10-'12 model) Honda CRZ EX Manual Transmission w/ Navigation. Thanks!
If u wanna b all about the engine..... the dodge caravan and chrysler town and country have the same same 3.6 pentastar v6, so the have alot of get up and go
I'm a Chrysler fan and this car needs to be replaced. I thought that the Sebring needed to be replaced the day it came out. I've seen the 2015 Chrysler 200 due out in early 2014 and can't wait for it to come out because it looks a lot like the Mercedes CLA. It will be based on a Lancia chassis and will have a 3.2 liter Pentastar with a 9 speed ZF transmission.
Is this guy STILL EMPLOYED? How WRONG can you get in a review? Our daughter has this car in 2013, and everything he has said is SO OFF! Do NOT listen to this guy, if you like the looks of the Chrysler 200. All the negative things he was saying is unbelievable!!! He must have something to settle with someone and is taking it out in this fully-flawed video. This car is Awesome, perfect size, inside and out; handles like a dream! Easily compares with my 2014 Buick Lacrosse!
***** I'm sorry you got the lemon of a thousand... My daughter's 200 is awesome... My husband test-drove it a couple days before she bought it, to compare & review notes, and it surpassed every expectation, except city mpg. Hwy mpg. was as expected. All else is exceptionally satisfactory. Or, Maybe she got the only perfect one they made! How cool is that? Sorry we disagree, but that's what this review is opened for.
This car not only looks cheap, feels cheap, but it is cheap! And shitty... your daughter just so happened to get a piece of shit. Btw sofyan is my favorite reviewer!
Chrysler really needs to step up their game. I've never seen this car on the inside since this video, and I am not impressed. I am sure it is not that hard for a decent design team to come up with a jaw dropping car both inside and out. Also adding features that are modern, and desired should help boost sales.
Does anyone know where I can find a 2011-2014 Chrysler 200 Super S Premium/Special Edition? In Georgia I can’t find one in a 100-250 mile radius. Anyone at all?
My Ex-GF had one at night time druving. You can turn on the brights and the chrysler emblem will show up from oneside to the other check it out simetime .
Soyfan, Can you please do a review/test drive of the TSX or MDX as the tsx is going to be discontinued and the MDX as it has been redesigned....... Thanks :)
the 200 is hardly the all new car Chrysler claimed it to be,the design is almost completely identical to the 2007-2010 Sebring. I know that's stating the obvious but it seems the name change was more of a fresh start.....they wanted the buying public to take it seriously so why use the tarnished sebring badge? I will say im quite a big fan of the 200 overall.
the Chrysler 200 is way better than the Ford Fusion it's a sharp car, I got a 2011 touring & it's great, and the best part, in 2 1/2 years, she's never been in the shop, unlike my brother's 2012 Fusion Sport which been in shop 9 times....4 times for tranny work
I got same year, engine and colour but limited edition, bought used at 100K now coming up to 160K, only repair done is oil cooler assembly and transmission cooler line and I did it my self, I’m very heavy footed driver and this car takes it well so far, love the pentastar power, definitely better looking than Japanese rivals
Personally I like the older 200. I just got done driving the new 200 with a 2.4. Honestly it's not as bad as I expected it to be. The only thing keeping me from owning one would be the problems with the transmission. Would love to test drive one with a V6 tho
The newer 200 never really did it for me despite being a fresh design..It along with the Dart never hit the sweet spot as much as they hoped and part of the reason is that 9 speed auto, I've driven both the Dart and 200 and the tranny was jerky.
+keri ellerbe I actually was going to look at a dart back when it first came out in 2013. Something told me not to do it. Then of course you hear things going on with the transmission. The design tho on this 200 is nice and indeed fresh.
Only problems I've heard about with these 200's is the TIPM's going haywire on them. The windshield wipers and anti-theft will start going off by themselves, heated seats stop working too. You either replace these TIPM's or have them reprogrammed/flashed. They actually had a recall on a ton of Jeeps, 200's, 300's and Durangos for this. Ford Explorers and Taurus' are the ones that have notorious tranny issues not Chrysler's.
I have the Limited and I have more on my car than what he is talking about and I have the PentaStar V6 on mine. I have to many things to list that this so call 200 S DO NOT HAVE but yet this model is suppose to be above the Limited
Moms friend has a 200, heater already went out though......... Chrysler............. Would you guys like to know about our 2008 Town and country???????????

would love to see someone start making some performance packages for these cars motors .
This 200 is far from a searing. The v6 engine is bad ass!!!! I topped speed at 120 mph. For a lil car like that being all factory I think it's good
Was that all the car would do, I mean, is it limited at 120 or is that just where you stopped. I ask, because the dart will do 120 mph and it has a 1.4 liter..
My 1.8L Sonic topped out at 123.. It only has about 146 HP.
My 06 Honda Civic coupe stock maxed out at 122-123 for me
This car was a letdown when it first came out. What was the point of naming it 200 when it still reminds me of a Sebring. Lee Iacocca would be ashamed
The v6 sounds good
A lot of people hate on Chryslers, not saying that you are, but I never understood why
CamShaBlam cuz they’re not reliable cars. Or atleast thats what i heard
Is it me or was that smoke coming from the car at 10:37? Lol
This is quite unique because this reviewer usually favors Chrysler products
I'm thinking about getting this car next week its just for me to get from school work and back home.
Thats the base model 200s, the good one comes with boston audio and leather seats with navigation
Awesome review, love all your videos. Wondering if it's possible in future reviws to get some shots of the tail lights/break lights and lowbeams/DRLs
My mom rent one of these and it seem like it had very great acceleration and a very good sound system :)
I've never seen a 200 S model that wasn't fully loaded, yet somehow this one has 0 options... am I missing something?
I got a notification on my phone as well, But if this car didn't have the V6 option it would be nothing. Plain and simple.
Weird. My phone just notified me of this video.
IDGAF. This & the 2011 Malibu. WERE FAST AS FUCK!
Pretty much recommend the entire competition over this vehicle. :)
Which model should people avoid getting?
Engine sounds nice. I'm surprised the 200s doesn't come with the 8 speed auto!
mine has both auto up and down on the windows. has two clicks and navigation with boston acoustics audio system. 3.6 engine, 18 inch wheels
What kind of camera sre you using that's on the drivers window? Sony action cam? Great shots from all angles.
Just a suggestion but please try to cater to more conservative drivers as well!
i can only hear your breath in between every sentence.
there actually is no available rear camera for the Chrysler 200
lol dude you're not driving a Benz. For a cheap, normal midsize sedan this car is excellent. And sorry but I've smoked Toyota Camry's and Accord's with my 2012 200 3.6 Touring.
Did they improve with the 2013 one because i seen a real nice 200 s all leather
When you switch the shifter to that +/- mode behind drive, it revs up to like 4,000 rpm and it really doesn't sound like it should be doing that lol.
It also won't let you down shift into redline or upshift into a stall.
the fact that the manual option is on the 4cylinder when he said it wasnt😭
@2theRedlineLLC It's Nathan, the one that asked about the Mustang a couple of months ago. I was wondering if you guys can please do a review of the 2013 (not the '10-'12 model) Honda CRZ EX Manual Transmission w/ Navigation. Thanks!
Call it what it is this is a damn Seabring!
It was a Sebring at first thats y re name it lol
If u wanna b all about the engine..... the dodge caravan and chrysler town and country have the same same 3.6 pentastar v6, so the have alot of get up and go
Could you possibly receive a dodge journey?
He was talking about an earlier version. A lot can change with models from one year to the next. Geeze.
Nothing he said was off? All the negatives pointed out were obvious facts that can't be denied and it's rather a cheap shitty car.
CorvetteMom is it fwd or rwd?
This car not only looks cheap, feels cheap, but it is cheap! And shitty... your daughter just so happened to get a piece of shit. Btw sofyan is my favorite reviewer!
Chrysler really needs to step up their game. I've never seen this car on the inside since this video, and I am not impressed. I am sure it is not that hard for a decent design team to come up with a jaw dropping car both inside and out. Also adding features that are modern, and desired should help boost sales.
i Just i bought this car it's super cool
Maggie Elgert any issues with it still?
@@ryuuvisuals3458 I just changed my compressor $35, got one off the junkyard car.... And oil cooler seals a few months ago.
@@keyroncampbell typical fiat
Moreless better than the Cadillac Bose audio system
What about Chevy Impala LTZ?? 305hp
How is it crap? I mean it's not my favorite car. But how is it crap? please explain..
Does anyone know where I can find a 2011-2014 Chrysler 200 Super S Premium/Special Edition? In Georgia I can’t find one in a 100-250 mile radius. Anyone at all?
I found one in Georgia for $4000 99k miles
My Ex-GF had one at night time druving. You can turn on the brights and the chrysler emblem will show up
from oneside to the other check it out simetime .
It’s this car even reliable?
can possibly do an older STi review? like a 2004-2007 body style?
I'd hold off for this year model till the 9 speed trans arrives somewhere 2014 ish!
What's the name of the rims?
what about the 300. i need to know about the 300.
Its a beatiful machine
Why should I avoid the lx?
I hate it when I start seeing a video the inmediatley it's start to see blurry
Soyfan, Can you please do a review/test drive of the TSX or MDX as the tsx is going to be discontinued and the MDX as it has been redesigned....... Thanks :)
the 200 is hardly the all new car Chrysler claimed it to be,the design is almost completely identical to the 2007-2010 Sebring. I know that's stating the obvious but it seems the name change was more of a fresh start.....they wanted the buying public to take it seriously so why use the tarnished sebring badge? I will say im quite a big fan of the 200 overall.
A huge step up from the Sebring but that's still not saying much. 2015 looks great though.
Same key fob as the Jeep Cherokee 2005-2008
Sorry about that. I was wondering if you could do a review on a dodge journey?
Yup. Take 1st and 3rd off and you have the original four speed automatic.
My future car
This is based on a stretched out Caliber platform, it explains why it can't compete with others in its class.
the Chrysler 200 is way better than the Ford Fusion
it's a sharp car, I got a 2011 touring & it's great, and the best part, in 2 1/2 years, she's never been in the shop, unlike my brother's 2012 Fusion Sport which been in shop 9 times....4 times for tranny work
I got same year, engine and colour but limited edition, bought used at 100K now coming up to 160K, only repair done is oil cooler assembly and transmission cooler line and I did it my self, I’m very heavy footed driver and this car takes it well so far, love the pentastar power, definitely better looking than Japanese rivals
love this car fu
I see A LOT more of These than the new 200.
The design tho on this 200 is nice and indeed fresh.
i have a 2013 chrysler 200 with a 3.6 and its pretty quick
Only problems I've heard about with these 200's is the TIPM's going haywire on them. The windshield wipers and anti-theft will start going off by themselves, heated seats stop working too. You either replace these TIPM's or have them reprogrammed/flashed. They actually had a recall on a ton of Jeeps, 200's, 300's and Durangos for this. Ford Explorers and Taurus' are the ones that have notorious tranny issues not Chrysler's.
I actually thought these were a compact. Even the Camry is better equipped than the 200. The 200 doesnt even offer leather seats on the top trim
It's basically a dodge avenger with a chrysler logo on it ( I've owned two 3rd gen avengers)
Great Review! Should do a 2013 or 2014 200!
I have the Limited and I have more on my car than what he is talking about and I have the PentaStar V6 on mine. I have to many things to list that this so call 200 S DO NOT HAVE but yet this model is suppose to be above the Limited
when is the mazda 6 vid coming out!?!?!
I rented one of these and it fuckin rips!
Moms friend has a 200, heater already went out though......... Chrysler............. Would you guys like to know about our 2008 Town and country???????????
The S is actually before the Limited
Hope that smoke at 10:36 wasn't coming from under the hood!
