- In this video I let you know if Acqua Di Gio Profumo is still worth buying in 2023!
Since its release in 2015 the fragrance from Giorgio Armani has been massively hyped and popular throughout the fragrance community.
The brand says;
"Armani presented its popular masculine aquatic fragrance Acqua di Gio in 1996. Nearly 20 years later, a new version of the fragrance is launched-Acqua di Gio Profumo, elegant, airy and deep. The fragrance symbolizes the merging of sea waves with black rocks."
Acqua di Gio Profumo is an aquatic, aromatic, woody and spicy composition which is, like the original, signed by Alberto Morillas. It opens with fresh aquatic accord and bergamot. Its heart captures aromatic tones of geranium, sage and rosemary, laid on the base of patchouli and incense.

I have hundreds of fragrances…. Smelled god only knows how many.
I still love Perfumo…. In fact, I only had a 40ml bottle ( which was probably my 3rd bottle overall) so I wasn’t wearing it as much… For whatever reason.
So I recently got a 75ml so I can start to wear it more often again.
I still really enjoy this..
The og still smells nice to me.
Absolutely agree. I always find myself appreciating it no matter what.

@@gerardgeorge Maxaroma currently has some 4.2oz bottles for $225. Seems expensive, but it has supposedly been discontinued. I thought Absolu was discontinued as well, but it keeps popping up on Jomashop from time to time for around $140.
This one is awesome. It took me about 3 wearings to really appreciate this one. It is the perfect work/office sent. It says im here to get the job done. A solid performer and super classy. A 10/10 fragrance for me, its the incense note that really makes it shine.

It’s tough these days. There are some legitimate sellers on eBay just be sure to do your homework on them.
Last one... Have you ever heard of a discontinued product coming back? I'm just confused why they stopped making it, if it was such a success.
I reached out to Armani customer service in December and they confirmed that it has been discontinued.

I've called Armani customer service multiple times the most recent 3 days ago and they told me it isn't discontinued.
Just a heads up guys, Armani reformulated this gem, I have a 2019 batch bottle and it still has the magnetic cap and it’s strong af but newer batches do not have magnetic cap and got considerably weaker.

This cologne is absolutely garbage. Its literally Perry Ellis 360 red. All you smell is marine this was what I smelled like when I was 16. This crap is ridiculous they plagiarized Perry Ellis
ADG came out in the 90’s. There is way more smokey incense and patchouli in profumo than in 360 red. I would say red is closer to the OG.

Any Indian searching review for this then I will tell you it’s not for Indian warm weather (35 degree C) as it has incense (agarbatti) smell in the opening but the dry down is better and the projection is less as it’s mostly a skin scent. Go for profondo as India remains hot throughout the year expect for December and January.
Understandable. Profondo is a nice option for high heat and humidity.
I absolutely still love ADG profumo. I think the EdP smells almost like BO, so it's a no-go. The og performance is no longer worth it. Profondo is a little generic..not bad, but nothing special (prefer profondo lights but rarely wear it). Absolut is fine if you like something sweeter, but it is completely different than og.

_I couldn't agree with you more. ADG Profumo is hands down better than Profundo(for me at least). When the OG Acqua di Gio was first introduced in 1996, my friends and I absolutely loved the EDT scent(but the sillage seemed pretty stark over time). That said, there are so many other flankers in the Armani men's fragrance line that it can be hard to pick the perfect scent.... (About to make a shopping trip today, so I will most definitely smell the new 2022 ADG parfum to see if it's a winner)? Another great video Gerard!_

I actually do like it quite a bit smell wise. It didn’t last that long on me though.
My favorite Giorgio Armani cologne is aqua di gio the white frosted bottle the original been loving it since I was in middle school my old school favorite 👍

I like the OG better. I had to change my original ranking. I had Profumo in at #1, but I have both ad just compared them. The OG projects more and smells super fresh. Profumo is more laid back and doesn't perform as well...but still a great scent. I'd say the OG smells younger. Profumo for the older crowd.

I would say that ADG Profundo would suite a lot more people, that said I’m glad I own Profumo.
Fragrances are like Rolex’s they make a million watches a year but we’re all lead to believe that stock isn’t available or it’s discounted, but put yourself on wait list and bam you’ll get a chance to buy it.

I have Profondo and haven't been tempted to get Profumo. When I was looking, Profumo was unavailable so I went with Profondo. I like it well enough to not purchase both. If I ever do purchase it, it will be a small size, but at this time, I'm a no go. But I know it's wonderful, everyone says so!

I am nearing the bottom of my bottle of this stuff and I want a replacement. I am very worried that it has been reformulated or something. That would really upset me because I really really like this fragrance. there had been rumors about a year or two ago that it had been discontinued. The recentness of this video and the comment section reassured me that I can still get my hands on it.
You can still get it and I think the reformulation talk is somewhat overblown. I know many compare the new parfum to profumo but I was really disappointed in that scent. I would take a lesser Profumo over that scent any day.
New batches doesnt have magnetic cap and reflective prints on the bottle which is really disappointing from the brand.

I haven't seen profumo here in the Tulsa, Oklahoma are since end of spring in 22, that's Ulta beauty store,if that's helps narrow down if or not discontinued? Also code absolu, profumo same, profondo still available there. Thanks for video.

Sillage is nice. I think it’s just fine for a 16 year old. You’ll smell great.

It no longer has the magnetic cap. The shiny writing on the front is grey now. The smell come across as more generic, you can no longer make out the notes as crisply but it does last a long time.
Its a shame when they mess with a good thing.
@kubricks ghost The new bottles coming out this year that are black and white are even worse. I understand the scent and depth of non-magnetic cap ones aren’t as define as the the magnetic cap/ shiny lettering ones but it’s going to get even worse. I learn that lesson with Le Male and Aventus

Thoughts on this to buy as a summer fragrance? I already have burberry hero edt but I feel it is not strong enough for people to smell it but have been told it smells nice. I want to get profumo as a summer fragrance and I am 16, any thoughts on good alternatives or should I just buy this one?

I wore this same scent DNA when I was your age with the original ADG and it was my signature scent. You can definitely wear this. If you wanted something more youthful you could go with something like a Rasasi Hawas but its not as versatile.

The magnetic cap version you have is definitely better. I just got the new bottle with standard cap and it doesn’t have that strong incense that the magnetic cap I had back in around 2016 had. Also - it’s not as strong as it was before. Pretty sad.
This is what I’m hearing. Very unfortunate it’s just a beautiful scent.
Also it’s not just the magnetic cap I think. I have the magnetic cap but the lettering is matt finish. The magnetic cap with the shiny silver lettering is the best. Mine smells good but doesn’t last long.
Had a sample and not a fan of the incense. Same reason I'm not a fan of any Amouage fragrances.

@@shahidislam3791 some are saying they have that batch and it’s great others are saying it’s not the same. I actually wore this today and it lasted about 7 hours on me. Opening was fine however it is very salty mineralic.
Other reviewers say that it was reformulated in a bad way. So buy it on your own risk.
That wasn’t my experience with it Vlad. Smells great and lasts. My bottle is probably a year and a half old.

I bought a new bottle that was made in 2022 and I can’t really compare it to the older ones, I’ve heard a couple of rumors that it has changed and I would like you to compare it to see if it’s true.
Yeah a few people have mentioned this. I don’t have any performance issues and it smells great. It’s also a newer bottle but I would have to confirm that.
@@gerardgeorge The one with the magnetic cap is the not so old badge before 2022 (there is also a more older badge). The bottle with no magnetic cap (2022) is the reformulated one.
I don't like the recent formulation at all.. it lost it's quality for me.
The new reformulated version has no magnetic cap. I don't have the old badge, but people who have worn the old and do wear the new badge, say that the reformulated version has less performance (longevity & projection).

@@gerardgeorge _Yes. Armani is going in a different direction with their 2022 launch of Acqua di Gio Eau de Parfum. That said, ADG Profumo is still available on the Armani website. (Again, it may have been scaled back, or about to be discontinued...but at this point it's still readily available)._

Essenza is my fav flanker followed by Profundo Lights and Profumo. I was disappointed with the ADG edp and hopefully they do an Elixir flanker.

checkfresh.com you just need to put the brand in and the batch code on the bottle. It will tell you what year the fragrance was made.

This scent is my favourite thus far out of my collection. There are rumours that it's been discontinued but it is still very readily available in Southern Africa at retailers and online.
You can still get it in the states as well Muzi. Not as easily but if you look hard enough places have it.

Got mine today. Sprayed it on my skin and it had a egg smell in the opening,but after it smelled great. Hopefully I get use to it, and it was a blind buy.
Daniel in my experience if that egg smell goes away you should be good. It’s when it stays that’s the problem. It may not even last forever but some people do experience that with this. It can happen in salty aquatic fragrances.
I have been wearing acqua di giò profumo giorgio armani for last three years and it is my absolute favorite Fragrance. I switched to this fragrance from Blue de Channel and Dior Sauvage . Both are still amazing but too common.

I love em all! All of these have a use. Sauvage smells SOOO good after a while of nit using it.

I want to like the Acqua Di Gio DNA so badly but I'm unforunately one of the very few people who gets that rotten egg/meat smell from it. I still bought a small decant of Profumo since I think its the best in the ADG line!
Matthew I understand. That same thing happened to me with the Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme line.
Yep I bought a decant some time ago. I proudly asked for my wife’s opinion. She said yuck ‘smells like ball sweat’ that was the end of my ADG adventure.
