  • Day 7, July 15 2017.
Hello Everyone, I thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail last year in 2017 and these are my videos from my amazing adventure. I will be releasing a video for almost everyday I was on trail, which was 172 of the best days of my life!
Hope this big series will be helpful in planning your own PCT thru hike in the future.
    Enjoy and Happy Trails Everyone!
Started my SOBO PCT trip on July 9th 2017 and ended it on
    Dec 27 2017
    Cameras I was using,
4K Sony Action Cam FDR X3000 for my video and for my stills I was using my Sony a6000.
    They both performed really well!
In case anyone is wondering about the gear I brought out, I made a gear video before I started my thru hike. Here is the link

Thanks for your quick work on these videos. It would be tough to wait a couple weeks for each new episode.

I am loving these videos so much... it’s snowy and cold here today so I’m enjoying the beautiful scenery and sunshine of your adventure. Thank you for all your efforts in filmmaking and sharing your journey...

Well done sir! Please keep posting the actual date that you were there. That is very important info. for those of us who plan to do the PCT in future years. FYI: your camera skills have improved considerably since the Colorado Trail. Thanks.

Beautiful creeks and waterfalls, we love the log bridges. That one bridge did look sketchy at Maple creek. Nice you had a couple buddies to share a fire with. That was a nice tractor! Stay safe out there.

Cool old tractor. I have a friend who used to collect old tractors. I'll have to show him this video. Those old iron wheels are real collectors items....but they weigh a ton! Think the tractor may be a McCormack, but will have to check. :-). Funny how things in life overlap.....

Wow - Beautiful! Awesome tree - so big! Hoping the knee continues to do well and you get the brace for support!

I’m hiking the JMT this summer and the PCT the summer after, and I had a couple questions for you.
When using your Primus stove, how long will one of those fuel canisters last? I’ve never really got a good answer from anyone.
Also, do you recommend a solar charger on the JMT? Is it too shaded to be useful?
Thanks so much! I’m really loving these daily uploads

I don't know if you said this in another video. But how did you get your trail name?

Awesome! I love your videos. I really like how you show the little details (food you eat/water sources etc.) I was really curious how you organize your media, and how you get it home. Are you uploading it to the cloud when you have wifi, or sending sd cards home?

    • @HurlgoatHiker
      @HurlgoatHiker  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Sending SD cards home, a friend copied the data on a harddrive and then sent it back to me in a resupply box.

Are you glad you're going southbound? Is it easier to start from Washington? I would think starting in the north would be harder because the mountain seem to be bigger right off the bat. What's the next hike you plan on doing?0

  • @timber66

It's too bad they don't have bridges like bridge creek everywhere where it's dangerous to cross. That would have been great for 2017 especially for the record snow fall.
