the connection between Viego and Gwen lies in his Wife the Queen, Isolde. She is the one who made the doll. Viego in his attempt of bringing back his wife, shattered her Soul in an Event known as the Ruination, which also made him the monster he is and destroyed the blessed isele and all of its inhabitans. A part of Isolds Soul went into Gwen and made her come to life.
So Gwen is Isolde's (Viego's dead wife) handmade doll which inherited her soul after the ruined romantic Viego tried to resurrect her. To do that he betrayed the trust of the Hallowed Isles priests which resulted in the corruption of their holy magic and eventually lead to the ruination. In fact Viego's theme has the same notes as Gwen's but reversed.
Well, you are only reading the short biography. If you read the full one you would get the full picture. Viego's wife, Isolde, made the Gwen doll. After Viego managed to revive her for a moment (check out the intro of the Ruined King game for that) Isolde's soul split into multiple pieces, one of those pieces brought Gwen to life.
Fun thing: the 'piano mood' portion is a section of Gwen's theme, reversed. Also, Viego was long obsessed with his love for Isolde (his queen) since they were first married, and an aspect of being consumed by the black mist (Kalista, Hecarim, Karthus, etc) is that you become consumed by one singular emotion or thought, and it overrides your entire personality as you come back as a wraith. so Viego's death resulting in his singular obsession was carried on into all who were taken by the mist. so as his theme goes on, more spirits are brought into his view of singular obsession, adding instruments and body to the piece. so much goes into champion themes, you could unironically read up on a champion all that there is, and then write something short of a dissertation on a comprehensive breakdown of all there is in the piece. Jhin's theme is the epitome of 'a mountain of lore to unpack' but very few themes after around 2015 are light of motifs and references and allegories.
You should peep Ornn's theme, he was in the Call, the one forging weapons. He's the brother of Volibear, and they've got beef. He also has a teaser with an acoustic version of his theme, which has vocals with lyrics, but it's posted by another channel. I think you should react to his teaser first then move onto his theme.
There are enough people to explain Viegos story, but i'm here not for this. I'm moving through these reaction videos as a distraction for myself. Why am i writing this comment? Because at least i can warn every soul that'll read it: I am sort of real life Viego, but with the difference - that i don't want to bring any harm to everyone. If you read this - Cherish your loved ones, because you never know how Fate will take its turn. Love indeed ruins all, starting with those who really love. The story of Viego might be an exxeduration, but i know the pain of loss of loved, and I don't want people to feel it like i do. Appreciate your second halves. Riot made a great job, and this music really echoes through me, and i really hope that whoever reads this - you won't experience this. EVER.
