      Hi Dianna! It was so important to me to be able to use my machines when I needed them without having to unplug or move one and plug in and move another. I just couldn't stand it! Hubs is taking me to Home Depot tomorrow to get what we need for my cutting table. Can't wait! The end is in sight!

      Hi Donna! You are so right. God has been so gracious to me (after the first half of my life, I don't deserve it!) but I've asked Him for guidance in all my decisions. Pointing me to my husband was one I'll be forever grateful for. Keith spoils me so. God bless you as well. ((hugs))

    Isn't it so nice to have everything organized and have great working space!! Looks so very nice. You mentioned getting a changing table for your ironing board. I had a large piece of plywood (6 foot x 20 inches) attached to my regular ironing board. It was very unstable. I ordered a baby changing table and put the same plywood on it. I put a frame on the underside of the board that fits around the top of the changing table. I can lift the entire board off and move it easily. I don't know why I would ever want to move it but at least I have the option to if I ever want to do so in the future. The stability is wonderful and gives me extra storage space. I have four different irons and all that goes with them. I store my sizing, Best Press, pressing sheets, spritz bottles and anything to do with ironing. I no longer have that rocking motion I had when it was on the regular ironing board. It is on pretty plush carpet and is a sturdy work horse now. One of the best things I did in my sewing room. Keep up the great work your doing. Enjoyed your videos. Thank you for sharing.

    also the IKEA rolling kitchen cart works perfect as an ironing center and large enough for ironing quilt tops. I found mine at a garage sale for $20! but I think it runs $120 and has a couple large open shelves below for your ham, and ironing accessories

    Oh, man, I LOVE YOUR ROOM, you have everything Ive ever dreamed of Becki ... you are doing everything at once though, Im having trouble keeping up with you.. my brain does the same thing to me sometimes, but I can no longer keep up since having a stroke in 2007 that left me paralyzed on my left side.. so Im sewing one handed! Have to stick to lap sized quilts, kids clothes, purses, bags, some tops for ME of course, I thought I had too much STUFF until I saw all of yours, Im glad Im not the only one.. you make me feel better, I love all your STUFF and you are sure lucky to have so much space for all of it! im never happier than when Im sitting at my machine with fabric ready to sew into something/anything! santa Claus brought me my first sewing machine when I was about 6 or 7 yrs old.. a little Singer hand crank .. it sewed doll clothes and, well, just anything I could dream up! And of course then once in high school the real sewing got going! Thanks once again my friend! BEST..CHERYL🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

    Wow, you are getting it done! Looks great! Depending on your needs...a 4’x8’ sheet of 5/8” ply wood covered with canvas is a great cutting table, if you have space. Bookshelves to support it give extra storage. Or you can have it cut to any size. You have probably figured out a good solution though. 😀

      Hi Kay! Yes, I love that sign. It really motivates me when I'm stuck or I make a mistake...like tonight when I put an FBA in a bodice back. LOL wups! We're off to Home Depot tomorrow for the supplies for my cutting table. The Linnmon table top was just too narrow at 29.5" for the 36" cutting mat I have on top. Two sheets of 1/2" plywood (one above the other) will remedy that to make my new cutting surface!

      I had fully intended to do that but then remembered that we have an old gifted waist-high 3 drawer dresser in a guest room at our coast house and it will be perfect for my ironing station. My husband will love hearing that he has to drag it back here. ha ha The overhang of the wooden top is just the right distance to staple the batting and top to the underside of it. And the storage! Yay! I'll bring it home next weekend, paint it, and put it and its drawers to good use. :)

    Hi I am a viewer from Canada and I really enjoy your videos. I like your new sewing studio. It looks fabulous. You’ve done lots of work. I am a crafter, sewist, and quilter. Can I ask what type of video camera you just purchased? I want one with the remote so I can pause and resume videos. My camera doesn’t have that feature. Congratulations on your remodeling job. Well done! Tfs. Fern

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your kind words! So sweet. :) Here is the link to the camera I bought. amzn.to/2TI6PHf And here is the link to the SD card you'll need. It doesn't come with it and doesn't work without it. amzn.to/2WUOIzW So far so good with the camera. It does come with a battery for the camera and for the remote. Once it's fully charged, it turns on when you open the screen. Then push the blue button on the remote to record, hit the red button to pause, and then there's a stop button. Super easy. I take the chip out of the camera and put it in my laptop vs. plugging the camera with a cord into my laptop but you can do it either way. Hop this helps! Enjoy!

    I hope you cover your sewing machine when not in use, because dust is the worst enemy to your sewing machines. You would be surprise how much dust is in the air. I have a small room so my husband took two sheets of plywood glued them together then sanded them down, added several layers of polyurethane . He then attached it to my wall and added a motor behind the wall so I could bring the wall down and land on my daybed, when I quilt and pull it up when I sit on my daybed to watch tv.

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, my husband was stationed in Hawaii for 4 years and he wanted a lanai on the back of our home so we remodeled the back patio to be fully enclosed with just screens and screen doors. But you know what? We never sat out there! When we bought my longarm, I needed the space so he fully enclosed the lanai for me with windows and storm doors and added window AC. It's perfect for me!
