would love to know if your using tbs tango 2 as your radio? and thats crossfire? im new... just checking if would matter if the radio controller is good will eventually have longer distance too? hehe
Hi 😊 I am using the radiomaster boxer with elrs (not Crossfire). Most of the times the video Transmission(DJI in my case) is the problem with longer range flights, not the radio transmission. You nearly always lose video before losing control of the drone but without video it is hard to fly 😅
@@martinschoenbauer appreciate your experience. seems in your video using radiometer boxer does not make much problem. its not the radio transmission then. I think im going to the same radio aster boxer first. sounds good idea. thank you
Super nice video and the spot is amazing (the save also haha)... Do you leave by any chance in switzerland? I would like to go flying there XD! And what about the explorer lion pack? I am on the verge to buying it for my lr4 and why not my rekon 5, but I am affraid that in windy condition it will not be strong enough to punch out if needed...
no, i live in Austria :) But that spot was during a travel. I really like the explorer liion packs but as you said, they really miss some punch. I would have easily be able to get above the tree with a lipo battery. You always have to be aware of that when flying with liion batteries. Wind is okay, but you cannot punch out of dangerous situations. Especially while mountain diving. When you already have quite some speed on the way down it is even harder for the liion to climb with the drone if needed. For me the benefits of the long flighttime exceed because i do not have to worry that much about having enough battery for the way back (omg i already had so many near heart attacks during mountainflying with lipos :D ). On the flipside, i am not able to fly that close to the mountains as i would like to because as we said, if there comes something spontanous in the way you are f**** :D

@@martinschoenbauer sorry mode. I’m using the new goggles 2 witch has 40hz or 20hz. The older v2 goggles has power levels to set like 1200mw or 700mw. The new goggles 2 I’m new to and don’t know how to change power out on it I’m used to the older v2 goggles.
@@jonestown1978 ah okay :) i still use the older v2 goggles, sorry. But if you use them with the o3 you also cannot set the output power directly like (1200mW or 700mW)
Hi, do you mean what would be possible regarding physics for drones or the range for the googles/remote? I do not have the exact specs for this drone but in general i would say classic fpv drones should be able to fly at around 4000-6000m above sea level. This of course massively depends on the rotor size and motor power. And the maneuverability will suffer the higher you get because the air gets thinner. This is just my estimate and as i said it heavily depends on the drone itself :)
@martinschonbauer5955 appreciate your reply! 4000-6000m crusing altitude sounds like a lot. I would really be happy if I could do just 3000m on an AOS 5-inch build.
@@YT-fp4xe of course my friend :) Just to be clear, I meant how high the drone can fly(regarding thin air). That does not mean that you should stay at sea level and fly 3000m high. There the signal could definitely be a problem 😅 But if you are on a 3000m high mountain, the flying shouldn't be a problem. Just keep in mind, that the drone needs more battery.
That save was amazing. Seeing the battery hanging off the front must have been nerve-racking too haha
