  • Mini-Buses in Exeter in 1991.
After privatisation in 1986, with Harry Blundred as manager, Devon General in Exeter was in the forefront of the experiment in the 80s and 90s to replace conventional buses with hail and ride mini-buses with a fleet of 16 seater Ford Transits as well as some slightly bigger Mercedes Benz examples; both are seen in this video.
Other buses in Exeter are also seen notably an ex London Country Bristol LHS (GPD 316N) belonging to Devon Services on the route 359 to Moretonhampstead and Chagford.

I worked for Harry Blundred for 5 years in Queensland Australia. He did the same here. Midi Buses on high frequency. Fantastic man Harry was. RIP Governer.

I enjoyed this! I'd forgotten how much double deckers had gone out of fashion in the Exeter area! And the whole area round the Paris Street bus station where did that go??! Unrecognisable now! Thanks VERY MUCH for this!
