Awesome looking trees man! That's definitely a Mexicola Grande. Looks the exact same as mine. I'd water more. I upped my water from 30 minutes a day to an hour in mid July and am losing a lot less this year. Comes out to about a gallon per tree per day. Your grove is filling out so much! That Jan Boyce is going crazy!!!
@@greenthumb6697 I agree it's a mexicola Grande, they labeled it Mexicola but it just didn't seem right. During the heat I actually had the micro sprays going for almost 2 hours a day, can dial it back a little. it's been an interesting year. If you don't have a Jan Boyce you should get one for sure, thanks for watching!
I enjoy your videos. Your plot of land is nice to grow so many varieties. I’ve never tasted an SC Gold but would like to. I have a small one on a pot still in my backyard. Great production. 👍
Your trees are looking good and the amount of fruit is awesome! I've had some fruit drop too, I feel like this year I have more fruit drop then in previous years. Oh well its part of the journey. Your Jan Boyce looks amazing and I am glad your Mexicola is finely producing. Keep up the good work.
@@Sam-mc2dk I seriously was expecting the Mexicola to drop all it's fruit but finally holding on, still planning to make this a multi grafted tree long term and maybe the Fuerte will have the same fate as you Bacon, well see. Thanks for watching!
Nice! Your tress actually held on to a good amount of fruit. I, too, am looking forward to the cooler weather . I will be enjoying some Gem Avocados as well as some Maluma... which I am so looking forward to trying.
@@GrowsGoneWild I'm always curious how many drop so I collect them. I didn't get all of them and there is another area where I have another group. next year I'm not going to correct them hopefully and break my OCD. Hope all of yours are doing well. Thanks for watching!
@@AvocadoTalk I like to pick them up too so the rodents don’t get a taste for them lol. I have quite a bit less fruit drop these past couple weeks. Not sure why, maybe they thinned enough?
Hey REM - Another great video. Any thoughts about possibly topping your taller trees for easier access when you pick your fruit? By the way, you're really getting good at working in your product placement!! 😊
@@neurocognitive definitely will try to keep them shorter, going to wait for winter plus perfect time to graft the trimmed material. Gotta stay hydrated and thanks for watching!
What kind of growth habit is the Jan boyce? Does it need a pollenizer? I have a Gwen, reed, and sharwil all within 15ft of each other and considering the boyce
@@monkeykat1 mine seems to grow more upright and it's not too wide. If you have those varieties already then adding the Jan Boyce would be perfect and you'll get lots of fruit. The Sharwil is your B Type. Thanks for watching!
I experienced the fruit drop. My gwen lost close to half and sharwil lost all but 1 avocado. The upside is they both took off and are growing fast. I wonder if its a on/off year thing
@@MoAces it is fruiting too much and so heavy that it brakes branches. It sets back the tree. I need to really thin out the fruit. Might be easier to see in a video...
Hey REM great video - keep em updates coming! All your trees look great! I can’t wait for next season - hopefully I’ll get my first fruits on
