    Hey, I have a situation I figured I might aswell ask, I noticed in your video for your custom apparel there is Object Effect greyed out when removed in order to click and add it. I'm editing an item from a previously made apparel and it does not even show object effect as even being greyed out, its just not there, and there's no other options that are greyed out. How do I make it show up so that way I can edit it and add the desired effect I want? Thanks for all the video's help Brigand!
    EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out!
    FIX: Right click Editor ID, and toggle off "Hide no conflict and empty row"
    I hope this can help someone else years from now with the same confusion.

    was hoping you could make a video on how to remove item enchantments? got a few mods with some cool items but they come pre enchanted with some pretty op stuff for early on and later on i want to be able to put my own stuff on it.

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the same process, but when you right-click on the effect field, choose to remove it instead of add or edit. Save to your own personal patch, of course, to avoid messing with the original and you can freely edit it later whenever you feel like it.

    hey, i realize this is pretty old but i saw you replied pretty recently to other comments. i was wondering if you would be able to make a newer tutorial on this, as i cant find any information anywhere else. im trying to add the same armor effects as ulysses duster to the enclave officer uniform and im just not sure what im doing wrong. thanks.

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would if I knew anything new or different to add to the current video. You should be able to open the entry for the duster, copy the ID for the effect from that, then go to the entry for the uniform and add the effect to that.

    THis is an awsome tutorial...but i'm totally new to FOEDIT...anychance you can point me to a direction where i can learn to create and .esp ? because i want to create some custom effect and add it to existing armor. Thank you so much

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The same place you download XEdit from should also have a download for the training manual. Creating an .esp is fairly intuitive once you get into the program. You should be able to right click on the armor you want to add the effect to, then choose the option to copy as an override into a different plugin. It will prompt you for which plugin to copy it into and you choose to create a new plugin from there.

That's the best part of modding communities (at least at the Nexus where I started) is that the veterans share their "tribal knowledge" with the modders of the future, ensuring that what we've learned is preserved within the modding community. I've learned a lot from tutorials and videos as well as asking folks in mod forums when I saw that they did something similar to what I wanted to do. Maybe someday down the road you'll be able to advice or encourage someone else who wants to get into modding.

    What does magnitude mean? for instance if it was 40 and the effect was Fire Damage does magnitude mean the area effect or the damage taken

    • @RedstoNeman0
      @RedstoNeman0 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Magnitude is the number of times an individual magic effect is applied, most times it's a percent boost or a direct bonus, so yes more like the damage taken than an AOE.

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, as said it's usually a percentage, not an absolute number. There is a slight exception to that when dealing with armor values. Fallout 3 used DR (damage resistance) which (If I remember right, it's been a few years) was more like a percentage of damage reduced where New Vegas had DT (Damage Threshold) which works more like a straight deduction from damage taken.

    • @TheTinfamous54563633
      @TheTinfamous54563633 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh so it varies for each game....Do you happen to know what Fallout 4 armor does?

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, they kept both systems intact when going to New Vegas, though the only vanilla item that has DR is the rebreather used for the quest for recovering the bomber from the lake. I haven't looked, but knowing Bethesda, both are likely still active in the engine. You could simply look at a piece of armor to find out, though.

    hoping you're still willing to comment an answer, instead of adding an effect over and over, is it possible to copy and paste the same effect multiple times?

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, you can even use traditional copy and paste in XEdit. If you want to replace an existing "enchantment" on something, just click the current one and press F2, then enter the new one. If you want to make it an additional enchantment, right click on the root of the enchantment branch and choose to add one, then click on the new one and press F2 to enter it.

    Hi, friend, can you teach how to modify all "Fortify" Enchantments, mainly Smithing and Alchemy? Currently, the combination of my mods altered the max cap for each gear of those two enchantments to 48% (ring, necklace, helmet, gloves and armor). However, I want the vanilla values, which are 29%. I have looked for a way to do that for a long time, with no success. Since now, thanks

    • @Brigand231
      @Brigand231  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not sure how to answer that without stating the obvious - edit the values to what you want them to be in whatever plugin you have loading last so that it overrides any other changes. In your case, you would need to track down the enchantments affected and right click on them or press F2 to go into edit mode and enter the value you wish for each one.
      If you are not sure which enchantments are affected or how to find them, you might want want to browse through one of the plugins you have installed that edits them. My experience with Skyrim is very limited so I don't know the IDReferences for anything in that game off the top of my head, sorry.

      I think what you're asking is how to edit an item to be enhanced at an enchanting crafting station? It's probably just a flag or property tickbox somewhere, but I couldn't say for sure as I have very little experience with modding TES games. Sorry.

    Hello. I know it's not the right place for such discussions, but if you willing to help me a bit. What I'm trying to do is to create for myself pieces of clothing giving me 2 for each SPECIAL. That's how I ended up here. When I look at other clothing, such thing needs this enchantstrength, enchantperception etc. thing. On the tree it is EITM, and I can't give it via method you are describing here. I suspect it is childish simple if you know how;). Look man, I was modding in the long past, so I know that full answer for my question would be long, but if you can help me only just by pushing me in right direction, maybe some good tutorial, I will be more than happy with that. I was modding Half-Life when I was young, everything was in two-three places, everything had excellent documentation, there was no room for 'not knowing' for me. With this hellish game, Fallout 4 we call it, I have feeling like lost in devastated labyrinth. Tutorials are lacking, often put together by guys which themselves just learned how to connect a with b and feel powerful... And I'm also an old fool who long ago lost ability to rampage Internet like some hyperworm of data. So yeah, can you shed some light?

    • @MayaWu44
      @MayaWu44 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, I forgot to add one important thing - everything would be fine with the way you described here, but I just can't add Luck that way. There is something for alcohol, some x-cell etc, but no pure Luck stat... that's why I have my doubts.
