Judiciary’s role is not to question govt policy. Their job is to uphold the law of the land and ensure that people of India have a right to challenge injustice. As rightly pointed out Judiciary has had full autonomy for decades and if it is in such a bad situation today as per Mr Dave, then they have no one else to blame. Frankly, most of these judges talk about big issues but they failed to take care of smaller issues that normal people face. Cases running for decades even after 100s of hearings is so common that people accept it now. Along with shoddy work by police, the conviction rates are so low. I humbly suggest these powerful judiciary to consider ground level issues as well rather than only intellectual discussion about their role compared to the Executive‘s role.

With all respect to the competence of Chief Justice Muralidhar, it is quite horrendous to hear a senior lawyer like Mr. Dave saying Chief Justice Muralidhar is unable to get a "Good High Court". How do you classify High Courts into 'good ones' and 'not-so-good ones'? On what basis you think Orissa High Court is not good for CJ Muralidhar? I along with many other Odia people would have seconded Mr. Dave that CJ Muralidhar deserves to be at the Apex Court, but it's utterly disappointing to learn his perceptions about Odisha and Orissa High Court. I sincerely hope Mr. Dave regrets the way he took the name of 'Odisha' while expressing his opinion. It's high-time for the elites to restore their regards for States like Odisha and High Courts like Orissa High Court!

The most important issue to resolve is murder mystery of Vivekananda Reddy, brother of late Rajasekhara Reddy and Babai of present chief minister of AP, Jagan Mohana Reddy. The case is pending since 2019. Why nation is not raising its voice against late tactics by the concern crooked people. There is no confidence in Modi for solving this issue. What about other bigwigs in the country? They talk about issues of only north India? If this kind lethargy in helping others and coming to the rescue of a small state , it is unpardonable.

I do not have any respect for Indian judiciary. Cases are pending for ten years without a decision. Ram Janma Bhoom case stayed without a decision for forty years because the Congress Government did not want a decision. Supreme Court always did what they thought was the Congress theme. Sonia made billions of stolen money. So did her entire family. Narional Herald case will go on without a decision because the Supreme court judges do not have the guts to go against the Congress party. A fine speech. Deserves to be printed for records and insertion in syllabuses not only at law schools, but be a part of essential reads for all classes from 9th to terminal degrees. With all respect to the competence of Chief Justice Muralidhar, it is quite horrendous to hear a senior lawyer like Mr. Dave saying Chief Justice Muralidhar is unable to get a "Good High Court". How do you classify High Courts into 'good ones' and 'not-so-good ones'? On what basis you think Orissa High Court is not good for CJ Muralidhar?
I along with many other Odia people would have seconded Mr. Dave that CJ Muralidhar deserves to be at the Apex Court, but it's utterly disappointing to learn his perceptions about Odisha and Orissa High Court. I sincerely hope Mr. Dave regrets the way he took the name of 'Odisha' while expressing his opinion.

I do not have any respect for Indian judiciary. Cases are pending for ten years without a decision. Ram Janma Bhoom case stayed without a decision for forty years because the Congress Government did not want a decision. Supreme Court always did what they thought was the Congress theme. Narional Herald case will go on without a decision because the Supreme court judges do not have the guts to go against the Congress party. This is what we want. i appreciate your courage n bravery to speak up n motivate all members of judiciary to take a different approach to tackle the executive. Judiciary is powerful. pls use that power. When judiciary begins to act on contempt of court orders, then there will be respect for law of the land by all.
We have great respect for the Chief Justice and are confident that he will begin to set things right. Otherwise, we are lost.
Very Vocal and true, hope the people of Bar Associations all over India are listening to what Mr Dave is saying. Hope all the people associated with the judiciary are listening to Mr Dave. Pray to the Almighty that they wake up and protest the way the Govt and Judiciary is functioning. Modi is such a dark personality that everyone fears him. God save us hapless Indians.

Mr Dave has brought up so many weaknesses in the country, where the minorities suffer silently while the courts, and the magistrates and the judges don’t do any justice for them.

A fine speech. Deserves to be printed for records and insertion in syllabuses not only at law schools, but be a part of essential reads for all classes from 9th to terminal degrees. This needs to be read again and again so we do not forget that law is the glue that holds the order of any society, a contaminated glue a diluted glue will never hold order in any society
During the last seven or eight years I haven't heard any eminent person speaking his/ her mind in such a plain manner without mincing words. Certainly a good omen for our ailing system.

Mr. Dave what U have to say about the collegium selecting judges from the uncle club. Why can’t we just have Indian judicial service instead of collegium system..india is the only country where judges appoint judges, why can’t we go for Indian judicial system where really intelligent judges will be selected. What u have to say mr. Dave when throats of Hindu was cut in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Don’t be selective if u have courage speak a word about JEHADI elements who are killing innocent Hindus. Yeah looks like judiciary and judges were sleeping with hookers when Indira Gandhi overthrew government after state government using president's rule. When Rajiv gandhi kept army out of delhi for more than 3 days in 1984. Those were democracies best days. When massive riots happened in Gujarat in 1969 and bihar in 1989.
Very true…today High courts Judges are without spine. We as a citizen feels as a victim of the bad judiciary.
