My favorite Glen Campbell story - he didn't read music as a studio musician with the Wrecking Crew, but he had a great ear. Carol Kay on bass said they would give them a new tune to record and Glen would whisper to her - "Hey Carol, how does this go?" She'd quickly show him and then he would kill it for the record.
I heard him say he could follow the studio lead sheet chord changes but not notation ie riffs and melody lines. In any case he had a great ear, sense of time, and eighth note picking technique.
My older bro refuses to believe GB did not read music, I try to tell him, Glen kinda invented modern country music+contributed to rock & roll . People who read follow him. His ear, selection of notes, timing and of course speed. Hes an original, I love to watch his appearance on the midnite special in all his glory, what a damn pretty boy, HAHAAHaahah, Only Burton had as much impact
Me too, My father had an LP of his in the early 70’s I think I wore the groves out in it. I only found out since he died how incredible he was on the guitar.I am no expert but in my opinion he is the best I have heard.Thankfully there is TH-cam. like you, lately I have Been listening to Glen and reminiscing and I came across some clips of his guitar playing. WOW
Just discovered that he was this amazing guitar player today, totally by accident. All my memories were of listening to Rhinestone Cowboy on the radio as a kid, had no idea what a talent he was.
Guitar players and lovers of good music should raise a glass to Glen this NewYears Eve, maybe shed a little tear too.....a great light was turned off this year. God Bless You Glen!
I'm seventy seven and i listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of videos of great guitarists; Glen Campbell, in my opinion, is among the best I have ever heard and seen. Fabulous both as a composer of great hits and as a brilliant performer and singer. An icon of world music. RIP.
I've been playing professionally for more than 40 years and I can't get anywhere near the talent and skills this guy possessed. He was one of a kind for sure.
Used to watch the Glen Campbell Show back in the day. The whole family would watch it. I used to watch his fingers carefully and wonder "how does he do it"? He was GREAT!
@Huawei sucks sheisse That is incorrect. Fender improperly named the feature Vibrato as that is actual shifting of the pitch of the note. Most amps had tremolo which is volume swelling. A simple search will find that many Fender (Vox, Magnatone and others as well) amps had not only reverb but tremolo as well in the 60's. Some were better than others depending on the method of producing the 'effect'. Fender amps with both Tremolo (named Vibrato) and Reverb are: Twin Reverb Vibrolux Reverb Deluxe Reverb Princeton Reverb Showman Reverb Pro Reverb Vibroverb Vibrosonic Reverb Dual Showman Reverb Quad Reverb Super Reverb Regards.
At 3:11 he's picking and having a conversation. Incredible. Watch glen Campbell Williams tell overture. He picks the title sing from the lone ranger over his head and still talking!!
If there is a hereafter, as I believe, his "beautiful noise" should secure forgiveness for whatever transgressions he may have done. Perhaps we shall be re-entertained, in a not so distant time, by all new music from so may past greats.
What an amazingly talented guitarist. His picking is so clean and precise, how many shredding rock guitarists would love to have his technique?! WOW !!!!
I agree completely!, so much of his music, would have been much better, had they not put all the strings and crap on it, His ability is every bit as good as Page/Clapton, etc.
4:31 he's smack in the midst of Alzheimer's and it's as good - or better - than any of the other solos in this collection. What an amazing talent - the guitar was part of his soul.
That is amazing and intriguing to me. I know that Alzheimer’s affects short term memory. Maybe the muscle memory is so strong that he could continue playing. I wonder if he could have learned a new song and retained the chord changes and words? His Austin City Limits concert was amazing as well
DAMN!!!! Glen could play!!!! It looks like he mixed elements of jazz and country, and made his own sound. But he could play rock, blues, or just about anything he wanted. It's no wonder Eddie Van Halen asked Glen's friend Alice Cooper, if he could get him "guitar lessons with Glen."
Unfortunately I didnt get to see Glen Campbell live but i have many records and dvd s of his brillance Master player Singer best Intertainer in oar of the man since early childhood R I P Glen so Missed

Kevin Leavy.. He certainly had a gift. It's no surprise that bands such as Stone Temple Pilots and Guns&Roses covered Wichita Lineman. Guns&Roses played Wichita Lineman at just about every gig in the past few years. I've watched the TH-cam clips of them performing it. They don't come close to doing it as majestically a Glen obviously, but the respect they have for him is obvious and a lovely gesture.
@@brettanderson7832 Wichita Lineman, that Jimmy Webb gem, is such an awesome song. It has my all time favorite lyric in it "I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time". Glenn made it a hit and it'll be his song forever. And as Kevin stated Glenn's guitar skills were off the charts and to think he couldn't read music, just amazing talent.
To be honest, I was born in the 70s in the UK and I only really knew his two or three famous tunes and always thought of him as just some old C&W singer from the old days, but since he passed I have been on TH-cam for hours being hugely entertained (love his duets with say Johnny Cash, Stevie Wonder, etc). This compilation is fantastic, and Glenn is Fantastic. Thank you and Rest In Peace.
He was one hell of a guitarist. In fact many of today's greatest guitarists would say that he is one of the greatest. Right up there with Chet Atkins B.B. King Roy Clark Eric Clapton etc.
Hate to say it, but better than Chet Atkins and Roy Clark. Not sure that you can compare Eric and BB King…styles too different. BUt I would put him up there with George Benson whom I think is one of the best of all times.

The guy was with Leon Russell part of the Wrecking Crew which basically played on all those recordings from late 50s to the mid 70s. Carol Kaye, Glen Campbell, Tommy Tedesco, Earl Palmer, Hal Blaine they did it all.
Truly One Of The Finest Guitar Virtuosos That Ever Graced This Planet . . . . . There Will NEVER Be Another GLEN CAMPBELL . . . . . Rest In Peace Sir and Thank You
His solos and runs had a great relevance to what was been played..He had an ear that was second to none and could structure on the fly. Any budding guitarist could learn so much from his videos alone, I certainly do on a constant basis. Glen Campbell was a great man in every respect.
Prince - a pretty damn good guitar player himself - was once asked who he considered the best guitarist that he ever heard, and he replied, "Glen Campbell" without taking a second to think about it.
Glen's guitar playing somehow got lost in the shuffle of the GoodTime Hour and his commercial success in the early 70s. This is proof he was one of the greatest musicians of all time.
Taco Gillespie The same type of thing happened to Roy Clark. It’s a shame that these guys get overlooked. I did too, but I stumbled upon these videos and was absolutely blown away. I’m not a country fan, but I could listen to Glen play the guitar all day.
I had the great good fortune to see Les Paul do one of his Monday night gigs at Fat Tuesday’s in NYC. Capacity: Around 250. Amped, but at just the right level. Crystal clear, so you could hear all the licks perfectly. Proving you don’t have to be loud to impress people with your playing. FYI, he sat at the door afterwards and thanked every guest for coming. I got his autograph and he couldn’t have been more gracious. That’s class. Glen’s playing reminds me of that show. His playing was so fluid and the licks so tasty. Yeah, his big singles were (perhaps) overproduced, but they are beautiful songs. Wichita Lineman is perfect.
Yeah well, Glen Campbell didn't have a public relations, and marketing machine, hyping him up 24 hours a day like those assholes from England had. It's not like Eddie Van Halen was searching out Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, or Jimmy Page to give him guitar lessons. LOL !!!!
Pure Talent. You can tell he was a great session player he doesn't miss one pick ever. His work on so many records unfortunately has been lost. He couldn't even name the songs he played on. Life of a great session player. And he could sing. And entertain. God bless him.
It blew my mind, when I heard that some rock guitar legends - guitar gods, essentially worshiped Glen Campbell. I was like, "WHAT? That guy from "Hee Haw"?" So I checked out his playing and was amazed. Thank you for putting together this compilation.
Glen is undoubtedly one of the Best guitarists in the world. He will remain so....He is missed and Loved! I had the awesome opportunity to appear on stage with Glen many years ago in Delight, Ark (his home town). Glen has always been a great musical influence in my life.
My Dad and I talk about Country and Western music all the time, we were talking about the Jimmy Webb/Glen Cambpell string of songs, I said to him, the sad thing is, most people won't realise the fact that he was one of the most talented guitarists ever, a true showman, I enjoyed the video, Thank You, and I'm sharing it with my Dad now, and the fact that when The Beatles hit America, Mr. Campbell was the #1 seller of records that year.
He was awesome. I'll miss his playing. He was also a great singer. My favorite by him- "Wichita Lineman". A perfect song. I'm not a big fan of country music in general, but I appreciate all good musicians. He was certainly a hugely talented man. Thanks for the music Glen...
Same here!... for me it's "Gentle in my Mind".... for that "Everybody's talking at me" violins feel... Unbelievably great musician and fantastic composer!!
Chris H. Yeah. I have an immense dislike concerning country music. Glen transcended that genre. He played and toured with the beach boys, played as a session guitarist with Sinatra. The song you mentioned, Wichita Lineman is not country in my opinion. Just Americana. It's a beautiful song. I've watched several live versions and he played different solos each time. All of them brilliant. The mere fact that you like Wichita Lineman speaks to your taste in music. You couldn't have picked a better tune. This coming from a British man that likes little American music. Elvis obviously was unbelievable, same with Sinatra, Glen with Wichita Lineman alone belongs in the upper echelons of Americana tupe music.
As a 63yr old native of Arizona I've seen Glen 4 times, once when we were both pretty young and he was known for his guitar work...then many, many years later he played at the Durango St. jail...working off his sentence for Sheriff Joe in Maricopa County, Phoenix Az...the other 2 times you'll have to ask him, and he ain't talking!
James Picklehead Hey James, always go to his over the head (literally) guitar playing as 'over the top' but your pointing out that 12 string demonstration ...... Just set the bar even higher on his talents . He was a great talent and I for one miss him . Funny most people don't even know he was so much more than a vocalist....Be well.
I don't know. If you have a good 12 string, it's not much different to doing it on a 6. He's not doing any bending, which would be harder because of the extra combined string tension. There's a lot more technical and melodic skill in the Galveston solo.
I have been obsessing over him. I am smitten and he is darling at every age, as a 17 y/o in 1971 I thought he was a country folk singer and now 65 I'm knowing him and shocked I missed him. I did see him play golf at celebrity golf tournaments in Palm Springs. I started because of the alzheimers (my father) and have been here for days. Glen, what a gift!
Amazing talent. Multiple instruments. So much musical history in one man. His good friend Alice Cooper, said Eddie Van Halen asked if he could arrange a guitar lesson/ sessionwith Glen. That's how great he was. Awesome.
@@doitnowvideosyeah5841 Actually, it was custom made for him by Teisco, a Japanese company. I've seen him perform with lots of different guits over the years, including Fenders and several Ovations...
I've seen pictures of him with that Teisco in the studio with the Wrecking Crew. Just think, it might be the rhythm guitar in the background of Strangers In The Night.
Okay, I was born in the mid-60s and remember seeing him on various TV variety shows in the 70s, but I never really learned to appreciate his music back then. Well, that and the fact that me or my family were into country music back then. Now that I've seen this video I've realized what an amazing talent he was. Another musician that came from the same era was Roy Clark. I didn't know how great he was up until recently. TH-cam is an amazing repository of music. Thanks for the upload!!
Imagine Glen showing up for a recording session for some famous singer. All of the other session musicians have Gibson, Fender, or Gretsch guitars, then Glen breaks out his green Teisco. They're all looking at each other, like where did this guy come from. Then Glen kills it.
He sure put Ovation guitars on the map. People who never gave them a second thought seen Glen with one and ran out and bought one. I did lol. It looked good and was easy on the fingers but I still couldn't play like Glen! Lol
That was like no other Teisco you or I have either seen or played. It was hand built by some of Japan's finest luthiers of the time. It played and sounded exceptionally good. It was Glen's goto guitar for most of his sessions of the time. Of course Glen would have made a department store Teisco Del Ray sound killer as well. It was all in his hands!

Carol Kay on bass said they would give them a new tune to record and Glen would whisper to her - "Hey Carol, how does this go?" She'd quickly show him and then he would kill it for the record.
When he was reminiscing with members of The Wrecking Crew, he said, "I can hardly read a cmic book, let alone read music".....
I heard him say he could follow the studio lead sheet chord changes but not notation ie riffs and melody lines. In any case he had a great ear, sense of time, and eighth note picking technique.
He once said I can read a little music , but not enough to get in the way of my guitar picking !
@@buzzsawblade1 LOL..😂
My older bro refuses to believe GB did not read music, I try to tell him, Glen kinda invented modern country music+contributed to rock & roll . People who read follow him. His ear, selection of notes, timing and of course speed. Hes an original, I love to watch his appearance on the midnite special in all his glory, what a damn pretty boy, HAHAAHaahah, Only Burton had as much impact
Been obsessing over mr. Campbell for the past few months. I'm ashamed to admit I had no idea how well he could play the guitar. It's ...impressive
Me too,
My father had an LP of his in the early 70’s I think I wore the groves out in it.
I only found out since he died how incredible he was on the guitar.I am no expert but in my opinion he is the best I have heard.Thankfully there is TH-cam.
like you, lately I have Been listening to Glen and reminiscing and I came across some clips of his guitar playing. WOW
A most spectacular guitarist indeed.
Just discovered that he was this amazing guitar player today, totally by accident. All my memories were of listening to Rhinestone Cowboy on the radio as a kid, had no idea what a talent he was.
Most underrated guitarist of all time.
As a Guitarist to me he never gets the full appreciation his talent undoubtedly deserves a pure musician in every sense of the word .
He got it from Elvis Presley
All the hits are enough. Anyone who knows, knows.
I assume if you watched this you are a Glen and or guitar fan. How can anyone vote this a thumb down? He was the master!
I’ve played guitar for 40 years and his technique and artistry are astonishing.
The man had precision, taste and chops galore. Light years ahead of rock players
Used to watch the Glen Campbell Show back in the day. The whole family would watch it. I used to watch his fingers carefully and wonder "how does he do it"? He was GREAT!
all totally clean no effects, just the guitar, amp and pure genius.
@Huawei sucks sheisse well, reverb & tremolo are built into the amp I think he meant chorus, distortion, delay, compression, etc
@Huawei sucks sheisse
That is incorrect.
Fender amps with both Tremolo (named Vibrato) and Reverb are:
Twin Reverb
Vibrolux Reverb
Deluxe Reverb
Princeton Reverb
Showman Reverb
Pro Reverb
Vibroverb
Vibrosonic Reverb
Dual Showman Reverb
Quad Reverb
Super Reverb
Regards.
And Campbell was a fantastic player. Another forgotten master was Lenny Breau. Atkins gave him the CGP designation also. So many greats.
One was on a 12 string. Who solos on a 12 string? Glen Freakin Campbell.
Effects used compression reverb over drive. So no. But yeah he is good.
Sing and play with the angels, Glen. You may be gone but your music will live forever. Thank you, sir.
Don't know how I missed his greatness on the guitar but I loved every clip, very inspiring.
TheHunter I so glad my video reached the people that truly appreciate his playing.
At 3:11 he's picking and having a conversation. Incredible. Watch glen Campbell Williams tell overture. He picks the title sing from the lone ranger over his head and still talking!!
Despite his recent passing, Glen Campbell will live forever!
If there is a hereafter, as I believe, his "beautiful noise" should secure forgiveness for whatever transgressions he may have done. Perhaps we shall be re-entertained, in a not so distant time, by all new music from so may past greats.
His daughter, Ashley, has a lot of his talents, too. She is amazing. She and her father were very close.
Tony Monte yep in heaven or in hell as we all will, depends on what you choose 🤪😇✝️
Tony Monte Definitely, I wanted to help with this video
Valerie Griner she is VERY talented!
What an amazingly talented guitarist. His picking is so clean and precise, how many shredding rock guitarists would love to have his technique?! WOW !!!!
im glad i lived in the times of Glen Campbell,Vocal magic,Bagpipe player,Guitar Genius, R.I.P. thanks for the inspiration.
This is so cool because many of Glen's studio recordings are simply over produced with strings, etc. This guy can really pick and great phrasing !!!
Unfortunately
I didnt get to see Glen Campbell live but i have many records and dvd s of his brillance Master player Singer best Intertainer in oar of the man since early childhood R I P Glen so Missed
Gotta love those jazz riffs.
Damn ! Being a rock fan for years, I have to admit his skill level is above and beyond that of well known guitar heroes, imagine, what he could do with distortion ? The guys speed and timing and scale knowledge as well as his feel was top level + genius AAA+++
Alice Cooper Who was a good friend of Glen mentioned that he was one of the best guitarists in the world, this video clearly shows his amazing talent.
Kevin Leavy who wants distortion when you pick that clean?
DISTORTION is a cheap way to try and sound better than what you really were...that was WAY beneath GC
I'm in my 50's and looking to start playing believe it or not and am just hooked on this guy right now. Man he was friggin good.
Floydd How is your progress?
I started late and play almost everyday I enjoy it and has enriched my life as well as my coordination on my left hand is greatly improved. Do it!
Awesome!
Floydd me too I’m 48 and about to start lessons! Good luck and have fun ✌️ 🐨 🦘 💖
Like butter on a poptart
To be honest, I was born in the 70s in the UK and I only really knew his two or three famous tunes and always thought of him as just some old C&W singer from the old days, but since he passed I have been on TH-cam for hours being hugely entertained (love his duets with say Johnny Cash, Stevie Wonder, etc).
This compilation is fantastic, and Glenn is Fantastic. Thank you and Rest In Peace.
This just confirms just how incredible Glen Campbell was at playing the guitar. He was a very SPECIAL man. R.I.P🙏
You might forget us Glen.. But we'll never forget you! The real guitar hero! God Bless you and your family!
He was one hell of a guitarist. In fact many of today's greatest guitarists would say that he is one of the greatest. Right up there with Chet Atkins B.B. King Roy Clark Eric Clapton etc.
Chet, Roy, Glen. And if we are speaking of talent as a guitarist alone, I pick Glen as the best.
@@cedarshoals529 How in the hell does Clapton keep making these top lists? He's a journeyman at best.
Hate to say it, but better than Chet Atkins and Roy Clark. Not sure that you can compare Eric and BB King…styles too different. BUt I would put him up there with George Benson whom I think is one of the best of all times.
What😆,that’s funny
How could anyone not LOVE this video? He is the best guitarist ever!
2022 and he would still smoke 90% of the worlds lead guitarists and the solos they play, 1 of the best to ever have done it !!!!!!. my most fav was the solo he played @3.00mins surrounded by all those greats staring in amazement lol Always Gentle On My Mind that clip.....RIP Sir
Not many guitarists achieve total mastery of their instrument - Glen Campbell was a master and made it look so easy. A very sad day today.
He played the bagpipes too!
th-cam.com/video/XUAiWDRh5tU/w-d-xo.html
I only started looking at Glen as a guitarist from the eighties.Since then he never ceases to amaze me he is just such a gifted guitarist.
Glenn Campbell: the very definition of underrated. Class, pure class
The guy was with Leon Russell part of the Wrecking Crew which basically played on all those recordings from late 50s to the mid 70s. Carol Kaye, Glen Campbell, Tommy Tedesco, Earl Palmer, Hal Blaine they did it all.
Truly One Of The Finest Guitar Virtuosos That Ever Graced This Planet . . . . . There Will NEVER Be Another GLEN CAMPBELL . . . . . Rest In Peace Sir and Thank You
I for one am damn glad I clicked on this! I love Classical Gas and William Tell Overture.
RIP Glen Campbell.
His solos and runs had a great relevance to what was been played..He had an ear that was second to none and could structure on the fly. Any budding guitarist could learn so much from his videos alone, I certainly do on a constant basis. Glen Campbell was a great man in every respect.
Glen Campbell... one of the all time great talents!!! There will never be another!!! 💕
Prince - a pretty damn good guitar player himself - was once asked who he considered the best guitarist that he ever heard, and he replied, "Glen Campbell" without taking a second to think about it.
simon tills when asked who his favorite guitarist was, Jimi Hendrix said “Prince” without hesitation and walked away
JoPa GeRi I see the joke flying over your head
TheStereoField
Apparently! 😐
@@TheStereoField What? Prince was 12 years old when Jimi died. But, Jimi DID say that Terry Kath was a better guitarist than himself.
That PeeWee Herman guy -- not a guitarist -- but could certainly hold his own.
Taco Gillespie Indeed. And let’s not forget Buck Owens. Not as great of a guitarist but he was a tunesmith and was overshadowed by Hee Haw.
He once said he’d rather do session work than go out on tour.
He was the session guitar player everyone wanted in the 60's !
He was so good - and so under-recognized. RIP, Mr. Campbell.
Tim Allbritton hopefully not anymore
He was recognized by people in the business
Yeah well, Glen Campbell didn't have a public relations, and marketing machine, hyping him up 24 hours a day like those assholes from England had.
It's not like Eddie Van Halen was searching out Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, or Jimmy Page to give him guitar lessons. LOL !!!!
The Gentle on my Mind solo starting at 2:59 is incredible.
My favorite part of that clip is watching Gene Watson just loving Glen's playing. He knew how amazing it was.
Everyone in that room knew something special was going down
@@bobbythecajun7869 and Roy Clarke was no bum either !
Amazing example of being truly appreciated by his peers!!!
I got roasted on FB saying this guy blows Eddie and Eric away! Still standing by my post!
A truly unique artist,I’m glad I’m old enough to remember and appreciate him 👌👌
Pure Talent. You can tell he was a great session player he doesn't miss one pick ever. His work on so many records unfortunately has been lost. He couldn't even name the songs he played on. Life of a great session player. And he could sing. And entertain. God bless him.
The last clip was from his "Farewell Tour". That's his daughter behind him playing keyboard. What a talent!
~ Some fine stuff _!_ Those country boys damn well know how to play ...🎶👌 ( Roy Clark/Chet Akins etc )
It blew my mind, when I heard that some rock guitar legends - guitar gods, essentially worshiped Glen Campbell. I was like, "WHAT? That guy from "Hee Haw"?" So I checked out his playing and was amazed. Thank you for putting together this compilation.
Dean Champion my pleasure!
Im 58. This man was the love of my life at 4 years of age.. 😂😂❤❤
I've always heard of Glen but had no idea he was such a great guitarist. Will definitely be listening to more of him.
Anna Corcoran glad to have shine some light!
He was so ridiculously good...
With that clean tone It exposes every inadequacy with your technique, and this guy had no inadequacy
Good compilation. Well done. I'm sure a lot of us guitar players wish we could play half as well as that
Indeed, he was one of America's finest!
A fifth of his talent is more than most!!!!! The man could play that guitar!!!
AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!!
Tom Anderson
AMEN INDEED!
ol
Glen was a phenomenal individual!
Nice work, here. Thank you!
There are great and mediocre musicians in all genres, a little bit of cream at the top of a lot of skim milk
Yes, and he was a "Beach Boy" too, for a short time.
Same here!... for me it's "Gentle in my Mind".... for that "Everybody's talking at me" violins feel...
Unbelievably great musician and fantastic composer!!
Galveston is my fav...
Chris H.
Fantastic!!!! But how can anyone give this a thumbs down????
Talent like this doesn’t come around very often
As a 63yr old native of Arizona I've seen Glen 4 times, once when we were both pretty young and he was known for his guitar work...then many, many years later he played at the Durango St. jail...working off his sentence for Sheriff Joe in Maricopa County, Phoenix Az...the other 2 times you'll have to ask him, and he ain't talking!
To do that on a 12-string at 1:25 is some crazy skills.
I am really appreciating the man Glen. What a special gift to the ones who appreciate true musicianship.
Amazing talent. Multiple instruments. So much musical history in one man. His good friend Alice Cooper, said Eddie Van Halen asked if he could arrange a guitar lesson/ sessionwith Glen. That's how great he was. Awesome.
Such an underrated guitarist by the public. Anyone who was a member of the legendary Wrecking Crew was exceptional. Thanks for the post.
Simply the best!!!!!! Words like genius, talent, excellence, musical, master, greatness, skillful all come to mind! One of a kind for sure!!!
roland mccabe yess! All of the above!
Thank you so much, to everyone involved with this wonderful vid.
One of the greatest unrecognized, underrated guitar musicians of his era. A true master of his musicianship skills
Fantastic!! This is from Glen C that has been lost and to many not seen before (like myself)...serious blown away! 🎼❤️
Holy hell could that guy play. RIP.
Can't get over seeing Glen picking a Teisco Del Ray - goes to show it's all in the fingers!
I wonder why? Some garage players like em but I would think even a Duo sonic or musicmaster would be better
@@doitnowvideosyeah5841 Actually, it was custom made for him by Teisco, a Japanese company. I've seen him perform with lots of different guits over the years, including Fenders and several Ovations...
@@deepwater2652 Glen made Ovation a real guitar company. Definitely guitar he is most associated with from playing them on his TV show
Not that cheap is necessarily bad, but if you can't make a bad guitar sound good, then you can't play.
I've seen pictures of him with that Teisco in the studio with the Wrecking Crew. Just think, it might be the rhythm guitar in the background of Strangers In The Night.
I always loved his singing, only realized later what a great guitarist he was. God bless all with ears to hear.
Fantastic. The last one with the blue Strat was my favorite. He was amazing. He knew the neck so well.
Glen Campbell, his guitar and Jimmy Webb, thank you God.
@RP Brown turns out ya CAN make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!
The realist Keep the purse, I'll take the sow's ear with a million bucks inside it.
It was all in his hands!
its not the plank you spank but how well you spank that plank that matters
Awesome Glenn, thank you.
The great guitarist Glen Campbell you are always in my heart R.I.P. 15 Oct 2019 4.00p.m. thank you
Warongrat Ratanawarang He got a lot of Pussy in his time. But, he could not read music. If music is your thing, one should learn to read music.
Great stuff. RIP GC. He was a madman on the guitar. One of my all time favorite musicians/songwriters
Thank you for shedding light on this guitar virtuoso.
VIDEOHEREBOB it was my pleasure!!
Solo Flight=Thank you so much for the compilation of the solo guitar picking by Glenn Campbell. This is one of the better postings. Before i went in uniform by sheer accident i dated one of Glenn Campbell's cousins. Just two dates. While at her home she had it full of photos, videos and even sang herself. So i ask her if it were true and she pulled out a video. Mr Campbell had actually been to her home it showed her and him together. Glenn was one of the best guitar players in the world. He played for many famous people. We lost a star that we hope is up there in a star. thanks
Best 12 string guitar player ever! ❤️❤️❤️
A beautiful guitar player. One of the greats.
He just happened to be one of the all-time great vocalists as well.
Too talented.
Glen Campbell was such an underrated guitarist. Probably because most of his recordings were mainly vocal Country and Western music. He would have been a wonderful rock guitarist. What a great loss to music world.
Thank you very much for posting this great video of Glen Campbell. Glen inspired many a young kid to pick up the guitar way back when. He will always be missed and rightfully respected as a great guitarist (and pretty good vocalist, too.)
Absolutely underrated. What a great player
