How EV200D picture look in darker environment like cloudy day, dusk, sunset, evening under street lights and indoors? I'm seriously thinking about purchasing these googles. However I seen some "rainbows" in reviews and wish to know are they are fixed or not?
I own these goggles and they feel and fit fine. I like the quad diversity, I fly with a XTreme patch and a tall Menace pagoda style omni on one side and two "stubby" omni set perpendicular to each other on the other side. Does great. My complaint is the DVR!!! I just did the upgrade last night but the video is still too blown out to be useful. I also have the FTX Viper goggles and its DVR is excellent. Better than Fat Shark from what I seen and heard on TH-cam. So if I'm needing a video from an AIO whoop cam I use the Vipers or use its DVR while flying with the 200D. I see this is an older video and you might not even monitor comments anymore but you posted this in 2018 and today is 12/01/21. The FW upgrade version has not changed so it would seem they will not be fixing these goggles anymore. I turned in a customer service "ticket" with Eachine since I did recently buy these thru Banggood. Wait and see....Good review, you do a good job.
Thanks for this, I was able to upgrade the firmware without any problems and it's definitely improved the washed out appearance that it initially had. Now if all this rain would just stop...
Nice to see that Eachine began to support easy to install firmware updates for their googles. I would expect also more comfortable control for channel scanner in OSD, maybe even with signal strength analyzer like Skyzone03 googles have together with less annoying beeps. That beeping pattern sounded like ZX Spectrum game loading from cassette in my school years :) However fixed diversity and DVR issues are good enough and thanks about that. Pity that Eachine does not provide similar firmware upgrade for EV800D googles. I still wish to get rid of Chinese DVR menu in my old EV800D.
To follow up what I previously said about the 200D goggle DVR. I recalled that I DID have a good video from these goggles when I first got them. I went back into my stuff and found I had made a video showing both the vids from the Caddx cam and the 200D goggles in a video I made of my Full Speed Tiny Leader 2s HD whoop. The DVR goggle video was great! But subsequent videos from the 200D were blown out "hot" looking. What was the difference? Seems that those AIO cams on my small whoops don't record good on the goggles but the HD cams do. That's the problem. I don't need the goggle DVR when I have a drone with its own HD DVR built in. It's on the small drones without a DVR and lower grade cam that you need the quality DVR in the goggles. That where the 200D fails. It doesn't record what you see from those small cameras such as Tiny Hawks.
Hey, thanks for the info on the firmware update. I finally got fed up enough with the burnt DVR footage to see if Google couldn't help me find a fix. Your video came up first. As it turned out, the most difficult part was navigating to the DVR menu screen to check the installed fw version -- which wasn't the least bit complicated. The remainder was simplicity itself. Regarding the video format change -- I didn't notice any -- they work the same for me after the update as they did before. I run the AVI through ffmpeg to rewrap the video stream into MOV for Davinci Resolve 15 (free!!!). I don't re-encode or convert; just repackage the video stream without change in MOV. I'm uncertain, though, if there might be anything different about the audio stream because I simply discard it in favor of the HD audio. In any case, my DVR vids now look exactly like they did in the goggles, which was the fix I was hoping for. I appreciate you taking the time to tell us about it. I am very happy with the result.

Has anyone reported the HDMI input to just not work ? Mine arrived today, and after testing with a variety of cables and HDMI video output types, I just can't get a picture..... It appears to try to decode something (flashes to grey every 3 seconds) but no joy ..... Anybody else report this fault ? Cheers, and love your work :)
What is important to me is (NEW version.) 1) the goggle module diversity. (Stable and reliable signal) 2) screen size. I am used to 16:9. Don't feel comfortable with 4:3 3) connector have to be rp.sma as they are more durable. 4) how easy to find spare paddings and how easy to replace them.
I have tried Fatsharks and they don't fit me. The ipd isn't narrow enough for me. They are 1 mm shy of fitting me. So I am waiting for these to come. The ipd is with in my width so I am hoping they will work.
I have this version on my googles. But the DVR still looks shit. The sky is so bright, you cant even see that there is a sky. Its just a shiny big thing. anyone has the same problem?

It depends on where you fly. If your flight path is wide instead of long it can be nice to have directional antenna facing multiple directions. If it is all one direction then it won't make much of a difference.
The antenna mounts on the 200D are ~120 deg apart, matching the beam width of a typical patch antenna. One patch on each side would give you 240 deg of high gain coverage. A cloverleaf and pagoda on the other two connectors would more than cover any gaps when you're flying outside of that area.
@@circleofowls So in fact it will be 1 + 1/2 diversity (1 omnidirectional + 2 patch antennas). Would be interesting to add third patch antenna and point it backwards for 360 degree receiving.
I have a ev800d and was planning on switching to ev200d because of portability, but I prioritize immersion and the feeling Im flying. Do you think I should switch?
Anyone? I only have Eachine Goggles Two and worry about missing out on the imersive feel of the huge FOV. Would switching from huge box goggles to these Ev200d be a disappointment? I have looked through a friends pair of fatsharks with 32° FOV and didnt like the 2 little pictures surrounded by a black box...
Some people definitely see 2 pictures instead of one. I believe it is because their IPD doesn't match (distance between eyes is too big for particular googles). You should try googles that support larger IPD than your friend's fatsharks can.
mine came with this firmware on it... but it records in 15fps and i cant change the fps or resolution anywhere.... its pretty useless dvr function as it is now..

One day im going to buy a really good pair!!!! Thanks for all the great review's of fpv drones and fpv goggles!!! I LOVE THIS HOBBY!!!!! It just is very expensive!!!!!! And normally i would not care! But i just had a kid and then yesterday found out my wife has no job to go back to!!!! She was on a 6 week unpaid leave because she had a baby!!! Then her work calls yesterday and says well no need to come in monday we lost a big contract and have 2 let some people go!!!! Man its depressing!!!!!!! The only good thing is she is very smart and should hopefully be able 2 find a new job!!!!! As always WATCHING & SUPPORTING!!

You can use four 90° beam directional antenna which gives you 380° coverage and much better range than conventional cloverleaf antenna.
