I feel like the writer intentionally wrote the line “anyone would be scared if they saw a monster like that” in that scene, the real monster wasn’t the shinigami, it was light

After watching this edit I just got that interpretation too. L knew...
I personally interpretate it that way as well but i feel like lights scream is from getting his memory's back and also having the realization that he is actually Kira, The monster the whole time.

Something I've noticed rewatching this for the millionth time is how Riyuzaki's eyes change - when he first holds the book and is looking at Rem his eye's are more focused, scared even combined with curiosity and wonder at the bizarre and fucked situation he's in. Then he realises the book is missing and jumps, and in that one second before and whilst he turns to light, his eyes are completely dull again, almost as if admitting defeat because in that moment he is 100% certain Kira is light.
Perfectly described the whole situation.
Sheesh the first time I felt goosebumps while watching an AMV with Wasted remix damn
One of my favorite moments in anime. The way Light was able to expect himself to want to hold the book when the time came down to it. His plan was genius, which is why the ending (SPOILER ALERT, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!) with Near was such a buzzkill in my opinion. Near got insanely lucky, there was no real reason given on how he knew about the books, how he knew abt the swapping of pages too? Just seemed like a forced "bad guy can't win" scenario.
I don't know yet for sure, but supposedly it's all in the manga, but the last part, after L dies, is heavily cut compared to the manga. I am currently reading the manga but haven't gotten near the end yet, but I've heard and read, that's it's all explained in the manga and it makes sense. I love the anime and that's why I was sad about the not that satisfactory ending, so I hope to get it in the manga haha

@@MilombechAlso, in the manga Lights death was much different. He dies screaming and begging for Ruyuk not to kill him all the while in agonising pain. The manga really did him dirty. But I would prefer that version of death to be in the Anime, because it really provides a look on Lights (well technically Kira’s) character.
Remember how many times Light got lucky? He only (spoilers)
killed L because Rem was nice enough to do the favor for him and sacrifice herself. If Rem didn't do that, he would've been done for.
If Rem didn't brought another notebook L couldn't get enough proof to catch Light.
