- I'm inspired by Tim Holtz's idea-ology collection 2023 and want to make a similar collage to one of his Maker's (Paula), but using different supplies.
In this Junk Journal Snacks episode I'm sharing how to add doilies in a fun way to your junk journal pages.

It’s a great example of how to be inspired instead of feeling stuck because you don’t have certain materials. I appreciated your interpretation, making it in your own style.
I'm totally in love with this!!
Love that you used what you had instead of buying all the things x
This turned out very nice. It's good to use what you have when you can't afford to buy items. You can make something better than the originals. Thanks for sharing yours.🐼🐼 Love you too.
You're so cute! Dented brads make you so happy! 💕 Loved your page. TFS 🤗
Haha they really do! 🤭
Gosh - I just love watching your creative process! The protractor was inspired, and the outcome is just so balanced and beautiful. 🧡💚🤎
Yummy snacks today, baby girl! I love the protractor! Hugs, MomK 🤗❤️🌵❤️🤗
Oh my goodness so clever. I learn something new almost every time I watch your videos. 😊
Well done, Barbara on your reinvention. These new products are always so tempting aren’t they.
Have a beautiful day,
Barbara 🇦🇺
Einfach wundervoll wie du das abwandern 🥰
Stunning. I really enjoyed this video and the inspiration to use what we have. TFS ❤😊
A protractor for the win! Love all the textures in this layout!
I’m so envious of your metal bits! What a fine collection!❤❤❤
LOVE! This is totally my thing right now too; being inspired by current products but not buying. I have so much more fun thinking for myself and using what I already have, and my creativity flourishes because of it (as well as my pocketbook).
I love that you encourage us to use what we have before going out to buy the latest stuff and you show us how to use what we have.
💜💜💜
Quite amazing, very attractive. Thank you.
Looks terrific. I love the addition of the ruler. You’ve done a great job 👏👏👏
That is a quote I should live by: See what you have at home before you buy all the things! Thank you, Barbara! And this turned out just beautiful, as always!
You are so welcome! I need that reminder as well! 😃❤️
I am super happy too! I love everything you did today, without Tim holtz products... and what???? A clear protractor? You are ingenious!😊
Hi sweetie, I absolutely love this page. Might be one of my favourites of yours. 😊 such a good idea to get inspired by a beautiful make but create it with your own materials you already have. Sending a big hug❤
Thanks for sharing a great TH inspired collage...let's use what we have on hand! 💙 your blue door!
You should try to find the video on the blue door. It opens and has pictures behind it. It’s ingenious. 💙💙💙
Just love this video. It is interesting to see how you use Paula’s ideas and make them your own. Great work!
I love it! The unexpected protractor is my favorite!! ❤
Great example for using what’s in your stash. Love it!
You make everything look so good!
Love it🤩❤️😍
Cheers for showing us an alternative... turned our awesome...
Dear Barbara, this page makes me happy! It is very lovely and feminine -and what is much more important, it gives me courage to try something else without all the stuff from Mr. Tim (as Margreth always says!). Thank you so much for another inspiration! Love from Rita! 😘😘
Very cool page and could be done with what you have 👍
This is so beautiful. I love how it turned out. Need it to go into my journal book now Barbara😂 thank you for sharing your creativity with us?
this is so beautiful - thank you Barbara - you are so inspiring 🥰🤗xx
Lovely.
That is fantastic! I love how that turned out. Thank you for another great video 🙂
G'day Barbara. Oh this is great, very much my style.
Beautiful!
I just love, love, love this collage.
Love the end result ❤
Whenever I come to see your creations, I drool over your handmade journals!😍 I LOVE that you felt inspired, but used what you had in your collection to make it happen! Beautiful! Happy crafting!💜
Gorgeous
🎉So cute! So cute!❤❤❤❤ What a great page!😊😊😊
I think it’s cool how you share your inspired pages, especially the Pinterest ones. I’m a brand new subscriber to Tim Holtz’s channel. So far, I watched 38 minutes of the Live referenced here. He went thru all the new products, taking them out of the packages to show. The hammer is called a textured hammer. It’s tiny w/ one side smooth. The other has bumps. The rest of the video is dedicated to the makers. PS. Your hammer achieved it’s purpose. I suppose you could add bumbs somehow, too. 😉🤭
❤
Love it Barbara. When I first started into my journey of making junk journals and mixed media, I thought I needed everything. In reality, it’s nice to have those things, but definitely not necessary. In the end…the idea is to be inspired and to make it our own. I have learned so very much from you, and I appreciate what you have taught me. ❤ Have a beautiful day. 😊
Great interpretation!
I love this.I enjoy watching you interpret another makers art and making it your own with your own supplies.
Another yummy snack! Thank you for sharing!❤
I love it! I had to chuckle because I posted a video yesterday where I was inspired by the Palette Collage Paper Roll - it is fun making our own Idea-ology-inspired dupes! 😁💗
Yes, it is! 😃❤️👍🏻
Beautiful interpretation, love it. Hugs and thank you for sharing.
It’s good to know you can get the Tim Holtz look without all the expensive products. Your page is wonderful.
Wow! That’s gorgeous Barbara! Love how it turned out!!! I really love how you get your inspiration and totally make it your own!
I love when you get so excited trying a new technique Barbara! I have to say the brads do look very cool. ❤️
So glad to see you using something other than Tim Holtz products. Not all of us can afford his beautiful and amazing products. Such a lovely piece Barbara!❤
That's great Barbara, I love how you made your own version of the collage strips. We all have scrap strips lying around and grouped in colour families we can all do this. I also love how you took the top layers off the chipboard words. I have these and never use them because they are far too chunky. You made a really beautiful page. What a wonderful journal this is 😍
This is really lovely. I enjoy these types of videos from you so much. I love that you can take some thing and be inspired from it, then create a beautiful inspiration with the products/materials you already have. So fun and inspiring! 🤗❤️ Tamara
Thanks so much! ❤️
Superschöne Umsetzung Barbara, sehr individuell und kreativ👏👏👏
Barbara:great job. Love it.
To be honest with you, the minute I see a Tim Holtz 2-3 hour video, I wonder who has time to watch that?
Although I think his products are interesting, they are a bit pricey. I’m very careful on spending money on his products. So with that said, I think showing how to do one of the projects in another way is an excellent way to be creative. Thank you. Carol from California
I skip to the parts where he shows the new items. I do the same with my favorite part-the makes. I probably watch the two-hour video in 10 minutes.
Nice!
Hi, Barbara! Don't tell Tim and Paula, but I think your page is prettier! I love all Tim's stuff too, but can't always afford it, so I love watching you make do with what you already have. Thanks for sharing with us.
Oh wow! Thanks so much! ❤️
This was a great video to show that you don’t have to buy all the new things out there. Just think outside the box and look thru your stash. Not everyone has access to the Tim Holtz products or can’t afford to buy them. By the way, I watch all of Tim’s Live videos because they are so inspiring and you can learn how to use his products. You can always watch the replays and break it down in smaller sessions.
Beautiful ❤ I love your creative way to recreate this in your own way❤
Love it
One of my favorites for sure! Mwah!
A wonderful collage, dear Barbara! It is always such a pleasure to watch your videos. 🥰
Das gefällt mir richtig gut! Ich besitze auch kaum etwas von Tim Holtz und werde mir daher an dir ein Beispiel nehmen :-). Danke für die Inspiration! LG Rosi
Excellent!
As always, love, love, love your style. I think your inspired videos are my favorites.
What a beautiful interpretation of the original. Paula is an incredible talent as are all of Tim’s makers and Tim himself but so are you Barbara. I love the way that you were able to use your own stash to create the same feeling but in your own feminine style. 🤗🇨🇦🤗
Aaaaw Thanks so much! ☺️❤️
I love how you sewed the background!!
Oh! Your page is looking too cute!
I love how you use alternative products instead of buying the same. Gorgeous colours😍. 🙊 I'm loving the protractor idea 💡. 🙈 pleased you didn't cut any fingers off! Cool 😎damaged brads, a toffee hammer would be good too. Cosmic shimmer acrylic glue is great for plastic/metal pieces and grabs quickly compared to other glues. It also has a great precision nozzle. I've used it on glass and even glued things onto a big candle with it. I love it and think it would make a lovely wall art piece for a special photo! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Thank you! I have never heard of that glue. Interesting! ❤️
I love your interpretation!
O Barbara it is soooooo lovely 😍😍
Great advice! Shop your own stash. Yours turned out beautifully ❤
This will be fun to do. Thank you!
Turned out fantastic 💕
I love this so much!😊
Love how this turned out! When I saw Tim had released a hammer, I had to laugh - I have an old one he released probably 10 years ago! Now, I have just have to break it out and start using it! ;)
😯👍❤️
I did watch TH’s video (i fast forward a bit.) your page came out beautiful! I always enjoy watching your process.💙
Fabulous ❤
Gorgeous 🤩🤩🤩
Beautiful job!
Love color choices. Been on vacation and gotta catch up!
This turned out amazing! I will definitely have to try this!
Great ideas. Thanks 🙏
Beautiful with great substitutions! TFS the inspiration!
Love it very much 👍🧡
So Beautiful!🤩 I L💖VE that you used an old protractor you still had lying around...excellent!👏👏👏 I would've done the same thing. That's literally why I rarely throw anything away.😁
Some would say, "hoarder". I would say, "smarter"...I'm thinking ahead.😉lol!! Love and blessings, from the other side of the planet...the San Joaquin Valley, California.💙💙💙
Not a hoarder. A "collector".
It gives us credibility 😉
T Harp what part of the San Joaquin Valley? I’m in Bakersfield.
This is just gorgeous Barbara! Love every bit of it. I saw how long Tim’s video is and I too had reservations about watching such a long video. Passed it up for now. TFS! ❤
Well done!! I was inspired by that same make as well.
Yours is beautiful my lovely, love that hammer worked a treat on the brads... They are fairly soft metal so not a problem with a bit of bashing 😄 I enjoyed watching as I've been a bit busy with some health issues I've had sprung on me this year... Now Im getting over covid on top.. But lovely to be watching one of your interpretations as I really enjoy them 😊😊❤️ hope you're all well too sweetie xx
Thank you sweetie! All the best for your recovery! Sending hugs! ❤️❤️❤️
@@49dragonflies ❤️❤️❤️
I love it! You are incredible 👏🏻
Hi Barbara! You are always so inspirational! In case someone else has not yet mentioned it, the clear piece Paula used is a sticker! All the products she used were from Tim Holtz's idea-ology collection 2023. I "watched" the whole video 😵💫but, there are time stamps on each product in the description, so I really just perused the video 😁. If I didn't want to watch the whole thing on that one product, I moved on to the next. I love that you still found something of your own, therefore showing the rest of us we don't have to run out and buy something just to make the same thing. Thank you!
Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
WOW ❤
😘😘 aus Belgien ❤🎉
Will have to try denting some brads! Nice work.
Have Tim Holtz strips. Love them. Am currently making hidden paper clips with them. I surely love your gorgeous pages making your own strips and pictures. Looks like a Tim Holtz page to me. Brilliant. Gorgeous.
I had a good chuckle at your little hammer, I have the exact one and I am from Canada. Great spread!
How fun! 😃❤️
