they're 2 male balloon mollies, I have same issue they're mostly friendly except feeding times one becomes dominant so I poke him sometimes so he chills down. I became his bully 😃
yeah pretty certain I had 2 male, 1 female and the dominant one bullied my other to death. every feeding time the dominant one wouldn't let the other one near the surface to feed, or if he came to close to the female. moved the bullied one to another tank by himself but pretty sure I need to perform the last rites
#3 (the first clip) those are 2 males trying to assert dominance. You can tell a male and female molly apart by their anal fins. The males have a pointy stick-like fin called a gonopodium, which is the male molly reproductive organ. Males also tend to have way bigger dorsal fin. They flare their dorsal fin to threaten rival males or while trying to impress potential mates. Keeping those two males together will result in one being the dominant fish, the other will always cower away and have a shortened, stressed out life. Even females can assert dominance within each other and fight just like in this video. It's important to keep a good female to male molly ratio, which is at least 2-3 females for every male.
That first clip isn't cute. Those mollies are both male and they're fighting... Only a dumb person would see that and think it was a friendly interaction.
My favorite fish of all time. Freshwater no problem. Reef tank no problem.
