    Thank you for the video. I have a pair of Mollies that were labeled 24 Karat Gold Mollies. The male has black markings and the females only has a few. They had babies and some are all black and some all gold and some mixed.

      In general yes. Both can handle temperatures down to about 68 F. If your room temperature stays at or above that all year around you could forgo one

    I found mollys too aggressive & trying to find my lonely platy some mates is hard as the ones in the store were sick, I have someone claiming they are selling starburst mollys which I have only seen Starburst platys having either that or a mickey mouse. have you heard of a starburst molly? Ty from Windsor Ontario

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have not but when making this video I learned there are many variations and many names for similar types. It very well could be a hybrid that someone bred that they thought was similar to the Platy version

      @@TheAquaticCoder Thanks that's what I thought too. My oldest salt and pepper cory is slowly on his way out leaving only 1 like my 1 panda. It's sad that with all the fish stores here in Windsor closed only leaving PetSmart, My tank is down to 1 platy 2 golden tetras, and 9 albinos & 8 green Corys, but hopefully, I think I may have found a couple plays threw an online seller. Thanks again and be safe tomorrow's eclipse,

      @@TheAquaticCoder Thanks having had many fresh water since 10 in 77. I truly loved a mixed tank till as I said many would turn after years so there was a pet store here now closed that would take and resell not even trading for food or anything, I am hoping to get more tomorrow as my husband does not like getting them from others tanks even though I have done this for years. Better not to rock the boat, Have a carful day tomorrow with the eclipse.

    Hello Sir.. do Mollies & Guppys Need A Heater?😅

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've always kept a heater with my Mollies. Both species can tolerate temperatures in the low 70's. 68 is probably the minimum. So it depends on the temperature of the room they will be in. If it will always be 70+ then they will not need a heater. If it gets below 70 then I think you should have one for them

    • @TheAquaticCoder
      @TheAquaticCoder  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jalitzaa.v Do you see it in this video or was it somewhere else? I know the color pattern of orange with a black mouth/fins is common in the Platy fish (similar to a molly). Look up Red Wag Platy and that might be the fish. Platies and Mollies are pretty similar so it's possible it was mislabeled where you saw it.

      If they're found anywhere near the coast then yes. Many people, myself included, use mollies to cycle marine aquariums. Most imported mollies are bred in brackish water cause it's cheaper.

    Very informative video although I have just a couple of suggestions for you…. Annunciation and pronunciation both important and need to be addressed, and also the longer the video went on the more I could hear you smacking, I would suggest taking breaks to hydrate. Background music might add some depth to the video as well.
