I’m so sad to see this. Orser not only made her improve on technique and fs in general, he made her smile again and be happy. She learned a lot of things for real life too, she managed to life in a foreign country. But now seeing her being practically forced by the COVID situation and Russian federation to come back to Tutberitze. To everyone who says she realized where she has to be or something like that, she didn’t realized nothing but she needs a coach and her real coach was Orser and it’s imposible for him to do his job being so far. She didn’t have any other options. You can see this: Tutberitze it’s an amazing coach but for little and small girls and boys. That’s the only truth. Her methods aren’t good nor beneficial for adults. Zhenya isn’t only and adult, she has some health problems you have to be careful of (ankle, back...). I really hope and think Eteri will be more careful this time, cause now Zhenya is an adult and not a girl anymore, she now doesn’t have any problems in saying what doesn’t work for her. Wish the best for Zhenya!
I disagree with the amazing coach part. Like yeah she gets metals with her skaters (with the added help of the Eteri bonus) but her methods have also caused problems with her skaters later on in their career. She literally wouldn't allow Yulia to eat real food during Sochi and she weighs the girls several times a day. Eteri slandered Zhenya after she left. Orser said that Zhenya had back problems due to her training with Eteri. And then she had Sasha and Anna doing quads (if they can really be called quads) and keep in mind that quads aren't actually easy to do. Plus, they are children. There's also the fact that Eteri is also not teaching them the right techniques and why everyone calls their lutzs flutzs. While yes, I do think the girls are talented, Eteri seriously sucks as a coach. They would be so much better off without her.
She basically made use of the younger bodies and their body can't handle more of the harsh training as their body matures hence the term 'etiri expiration date'
Me too.. Still remember the day when she lost her gold in 2018.. I mean, I like Alina too and I think Alina deserved to win in 2018. But there's something special about Zhenya's skating. How she connects with the music and tell the story through her skating. It's special..

Unfortunately, we heard Zhenya is now hospitalized for her back issue and she has withdrawn from Cup Of Russia. Health first. Everything else can wait. As her fans, we wish Zhenya speedy recovery. And we will always look forward to your next performance, Zhenya, with a healthy body...

Personally I wish she was back with Orser because Eteri really doesn’t coach the right technique. The only girl Eteri coached who had good technique was Yulia. Brian had helped Zhenya so much and it was nice to see her happy and smiling. Also not to mention, Brian has coched the best of all time in men’s and ladies skating (Yuzuru and Yuna). I hope Evgenia goes back soon once COVID is over because I feel like Eteri did bad things to Evgenias mental and physical health. Edit: Sashas lutz has gotten much cleaner and I like her outside edge but this is because of Plushenko. However, it was still an outside edge when she was with Eteri but not as good as it is now.
Not sure how much she could actually improve under Orser, considering the small improvements but deterioration in her once nearly pristine consistency (and this pandemic sure hasn't helped) and not sure how much her current team can do for an adult skater, besides Tursynbaeva, considering her back injury and all. Only time will tell, but she's the reason I started being interested in the sport and so am rooting for her regardless of coaching changes
OMG how did I miss this upload!! Love the video. It hits me so bad from 0:05 onward with Zhenya's crying clip from the OG2018. The song lyrics fit her story so perfectly. And the music beats are so strong that it makes me feel so emotional after watching it. I really hope Zhenya can win an Olympic Gold. But there's only 1 gold. My heart also goes to other skaters like Anna, Sasha etc.. Why are there only 1 gold for figure skating??!!!! There are just too many good skaters and too few medals :(
I wish Zhenja all the best. I am fan of her talent. Eteri is the kind of a Soviet trainer. She is like take it or be left behind. She has no time for special and needy girls, you either give all your best or go and do not waste my time. Nowadays it will be considered heartless and cold. But the genuine skaters out there know only a tough trainer can bring you to gold. It is a balance of tough and success or soft and failure.

Figure Skating Fan wow, that’s unexpectedly dope, thanks ✨ I’m honestly afraid of her injury too, especially when its on the spinal area because that’s no small matter (based on personal experience) even though she keeps on telling us that she’s gonna be fine 😢 I’m really on board with all of you in wishing her well. People may say she’s not the Biles in figure skating anymore when they cruelly base her value as a person depending on her current world standings but regardless of competition results, she’s always one of those indispensable characters who wholesomely skates with a striking theme with this fierce, honest and grit like character that really gets to me as a person and as an athlete. Her response to those who are doing better than her will always humble me and the programs she skates especially post Olympic 2018 season will always make me want to be better in my own life. I along with all of you have been really really blessed by her existence. I also really feel like she’s just starting to skate as an adult that’s just makes me so indescribably in awe so I really really hope that her injury will not disable her 😭 I along with many of you stand with Evgenia first as a fellow human then as an athlete 😭

Ils se suivent encore sur insta, Brian like tous ses posts, et puis merde, elle a qualifié le Cricket Club "as her skating home". C'est pas rien. Et elle sait que Brian la soutiendra à son retoje, qu'elle pourra reprendre du vrai repos et du temps sainement pour se remettre d'Eteri. Mais ma raison me dit qu'elle va arrêter sa carrière avany malheureusement 😞😞. Et ça me coûte de dire ça car c'est ma patineuse préférée. Mais là, Genia devient comme Zagitova : de plus en plus de spectacles, de moins en moins de vidéos d'entraînements, de plus en plus de pubs, ou de présentations télé. Je pense malheureusement que c'est fini, donc je me matte ses anciennes prestations, et je pleure en voyant sa relation avecTracy et Brian en attendant qu'elle l'annonce officiellement 😭. I think this may be a sign that in the end she was not able to make the transition into a different quality of technique and therefore decided that the optimal solution for her is to simply return to the old thing and do the best that she can with it. I guess you have to work the methods most natural for you, if you are not able to break free of them. Will we see anything new from her at this point?

It's hard to say. From the most recent press conference, it can be seen that they are a bit uncomfortable around each others because of all the fans and media war. Zhenya tried to show she's friendly. Alina tried to show her true feeling. Here's what we guess, they are not good friend but there's no "feud" between them either. They are both good girls but competitive. And media just like drama. So.. We just support them all and hopefully you can also support whoever you like the most, while staying respect to the others

Given the current competition climate, it's hard. She can compete but can't win again. She doesn't have any difficult jumping layout - 3A and quads and there are just too many young Russian girls with these D-scored elements
I have a great idea. Yuzu can land his 4a in his first qualifier, win it with an epic WR say f-u to the ISU & JSF and he and Evgenia and Tessa and Scott can put together a rockstar ice show and tour the world.

eteri is just not sustainable, her teaching is based on young girls with no curves and injuries,
