Cool I love that blue and its just missing the mandatory roof rack/surf bourd! As for the underside given the bolt in/unbolt out nature a lot of bugs have different colour floor pan anyways! Nice work nice to see you out with your assistant! 😁👍
I wanted a roof rack too but I store it in its box and it wont fit, hahah! Thanks! Always good to have a helper!

The bug is really cool. After I finish off a couple of projects I'd like to get one of them. Until I saw you working on some of these Roc Hobby I had discounted them. For a street / mild trail truck they would be pretty great

Man absolutely beautiful! Love what you’ve done with the beetle! Mine didn’t last me a month!! It’s stopped running! I thought it was the battery, so I bought a new one, charged it, put it on, and nothing! I think either motors burned out or the esc! I contacted fms, and nothing! Now I have shelf queen that doesn’t run! Very disappointed!
FMS didnt respond? They have always been very good. I would try again, FMS stand behind their products. Does it still steer? If so, it is likely a motor. I have had 2 motors burn out.

I got the gray The People's Car on the way. It's a gift for my brother, he had his irl one stolen years ago and I want to make it like his which had 5 spoke Empi's and I was wondering if someone offered them so I'm really glad I came across your channel :D

I was pretty surprised, given that the beetle has open diff's in 4WD.
Nice work on the Beetle. It's almost going for that 'Cal look' which was popular for a while. Like the wheels too, look a bit like Krags, though I think Enkei might have made some like that?

I know if I was a kid nowadays I’d pick an nice RC over a Smarty PHONE any day. My first was a wired remote “Shell gas” semi truck. But I’m a no sticker guy. If it comes with sticker at least 90% go if they come with sticker I may put one or two on.

I was trying to get as far from military as possible, haha! I have seen few converted sadly as this is really a great foundation for customization. Yes, I do cover a lot more there! @amproengineering. Check out @michaelplatypus if you want to see him make a Baja version and a hot rod version.

Hey man would be cool if you can design and print a lower wider racing chassis for the Tamiya m01 /m02.. the challenge would be sway bars and servo mounting though.. I just picked up two m02’s recently, and looking for a lightweight chassis.. there’s a market for it.. it’ll sell!
I have 6 of them. Every one is slowly decomposing sadly. I happen to love them since I can use them for custom projects but as of now, every one has fully printed hubs, suspension and center chassis sections though the last is for the applications I use. It is the same problem as all of my FF01 chassis cars. I have 3 (one is new) and they all have split screw bosses so bad that I am having to redesign the whole front 2/3 of the car (again, I have a chassis for custom applications). Weirdly you are the only person that has mentioned the M01/02 in years. I currently have a few parts for them on shapeways. Personally, I would not let those cars move quickly....
@@AMPROEngineering I see, yeah it’s a huge issue with screw holes splitting.. my old ta03rs is basically super fragile glass 😢

I just find it weird how there’s so many companies these days who make after market parts from aluminum but don’t see the market for vintage RC and people will pay premium for new aluminum and carbon fiber parts for old cars.
So far my m01s and m02’s are really strong and still new-like plastic.. so for me they’re runners for the time being until they start to show age 😅
While I do love the Cal Look you have there, it sure would be sweet to see a bug eye baja kit for this car.
The scale is so close to the scorcher already but MichaelPlatypus on IG turned one into a baja version. He's amazing.
My Jimny I just bought on clearance seems to have excessive slack in the drivetrain. Seems like the shafts going into the transfer case can make more than about 1/4 turn before the other driveshaft begins to spin
I didnt notice that on mine. Odd to hear that.
@@AMPROEngineering Thanks for the reply. I watched a lot of running footage on these and they all seem to be the same way. When you’re descending stuff in the low gear, sometimes there’s a brief “pause” where the gearing is catching up that’s more obvious when you’re crawling VERY slowly. I know there has to be some slack built in to allow for the 2 speed transmission to shift without binding
The VW rear suspension looks a bit high.
It has to do with how the power is applied. When you accelerate, it lifts. I dont like that.
Still like to know what you think of the new bb01 and mb01?
Well, the MB01 is promising but the RWD servo placement is poor and I hate exposed batteries given how dangerous LiPo's are. As for the BB, I need to know more. Right now It looks like a cheap buggy with a cage.
