Hey, the Costa Rica version! I was there.
It was the first time Iron Maiden visit Costa Rica. Bruce was totally blown away by the audience that night. For us was pure magic. One of the best concerts I've been in my life.
The vibe, the setlist, the friends, everything went perfect that night.

I think you guys would be fascinated by the documentary "Flight 666" - it's about their "Somewhere Back In Time" Tour from a few years ago, and how they flew all over the world in a customized jet...piloted on non-performing days by lead singer Bruce Dickinson! it gave me a whole new appreciation for this legendary band!

Fun fact: On the album Adrian Smith's guitar solo got lost during studio recordings so they woke him up at like 4 am still drunk of his ass and he nails the solo in 1 take, thats the solo we hear on the album :)

The music wasn't as effective and inspiring because it's a live version and some guitar riffs are pushed in the background or muddled with other instruments compared to the studio version unfortunately. Live versions are great to see their performance and audience enthusiasm but musicly they're not the best. It's good for fans who already know the song by heart because they don't need to hear every musical detail as they already have it in their minds, but for first time listeners some parts that make the song special are lost or hidden in the background. I believe you'd appreciate the music more if you have listened to this from a HQ studio version.

Utku, you are completely right. Seeing them live is the best live experience. First time reactions should generally be studio tracks, unless it's an exceptional live track. I see Maiden every tour, and sing along and bang my head the whole time. It's super cathartic. The crowd chants are awesome.

My first Iton Maiden concert was in Schweinfurt Germany in 1988 during a Monsters of Rock concert. I was hired to hire 10 off duty MPs. Maiden was the headliner. They were promoting the Seventh Son of the Seventh Son album. When the started their gig with the song Moonchild, I was working in the buffer zone and I pointed at Bruce Dickinson and said, "I have got to do that!!". Two years later I was out of the military and opened a concert with a band with Moonchild!! It was in Germany as I stayed in Germany another 6 years as a civilian
