    Fun Fact: The stage and the theme are timed together so that the boss will appear right when the countdown hits zero.

    This one was such a pleasant surprise during the CN livestream paired with the obvious displays of a plan to launch a rocket to space.

    I'm honestly loving the space themed music in arknights recently! Also gets me excited for Endfield XD
    Also that countdown matching the music to the drop is just really awesome!

    I have been listening to Control's Wishes every single day on loop for hours on end ever since it released. It's just such an amazing and grandiose song, it feels so cinematic. Truly phenomenal! Glad to see you loved it.

      Same composer as "Golden Age will return again" and similar triumphant themes over a sad story of failure and loss :(

    One of the things that makes this special for me is the entirety of arknights story resides on continent terra, and when they announced that we are about to go to space, with this in the background, is like entering a new era with the people of terra. That, and this could be the beginning of endfield, a game currently in development by the same developers

    @GreyEnfield_CRYSTAL ปีที่แล้ว +66

    the context of the bgm is that at this point of the story some of the "greatest" scientist of terra are trying and finally able to reach space (maybe) and its basically uplifting of their dream coming true

    The Lone Trail PV was the first normal (not 3D animation) event PV I ever watched for an Arknights event. I knew Arknights music and animation were insane already, but watching the Lone Trail PV and hearing this song in it single-handedly got me completely obsessed with the music in particular. This PV is what made me start paying attention to PVs.
    I don't think I've EVER gotten chills like I did from the drop after the countdown in this song. I still get chills just about every time I listen to Control's Wishes, Bubble, or A World Above. If you haven't watched that PV (again, I mean the regular one; I know you already saw the 3D one) you absolutely MUST. This song is used as both the final boss theme and the PV soundtrack like most or all the other big events, and that drop hits SO much harder coupled with the visuals of the PV.
    I saw the PV either on the CN anniversary livestream or on someone's channel that had clipped the PV as it aired on that livestream, and the feeling I got was beyond words honestly.
    I've been in love with this game for a while now, owing to the quality, depth, and genuine care put into every aspect of it. On top of that, space is the one interest of mine that I've held the longest even amidst the storm of autistic hyperfixation (lmao). Watching the PV and hearing this soundtrack, I got flashbacks to this random old US space program documentary from the 80s or 90s that I've had on DVD for literally my entire life; it felt like this event was specifically made for me.
    Maybe I'm just too easily amused and impressed by everything, but I like to think Hypergryph did as incredible a job as it feels to me like they did. This music would be right at home in Interstellar.
    Just about every serious Arknights event story has brought me to tears for a second or come very close, but I think Lone Trail almost did that with just the music.
    I dunno. I need to shut up before I start repeating myself. I could go on saying the same thing for ages.

  • @alliezah
    @alliezah ปีที่แล้ว +23

    It's actually a boss theme. And I honestly can't imagine this theme without the very specific and distinct planetary debris (event gimmick) pulsating sound. It honestly adds a lot to the theme haha.
    I think I farmed this stage a bit too much.

    Ah yes, the best Arknights BGM so far, music for the event trailer (not the 3D one). And possibily one of the most epic soundtrack the game has offered us so far. The countdown always hype me up like no song before.
    I think it looks way better with the visuals though! Too bad you don't watch the trailer themselves (tho you could just for yourself).
    Thanks for covering this one Catha!

    i havent read the event, its not in english yet, but i do know control and context
    her parents dream and hers (especially after their death) is to send someone to space in pursuit of that dream she become one of the most powerful people in Columbia and given all the space themes id say she was indeed triumphant
    the lone surviour of the family finally seeing being able to say goodbye to her parents, pretty beautiful in its own way

      The only sad part is that in the end she decides to give her own life for this dream, without truly achieving it. And not only do we lose her, there are STRONG indications that we're dealing with an eggshell type situation and that "piercing the sky" by going to space actually exposes Terra to a whole other host of threats from the outside. That and we even get the origin of Originium, the magic rocks that cause the infection and all the natural disasters plaguing Terra in Arknights.

    There is only one way to describe this track.
    "We set sail on this new sea because there is new knowledge to be gained, and new rights to be won, and they must be won and used for the progress of all people. For space science, like nuclear science and all technology, has no conscience of its own. Whether it will become a force for good or ill depends on man, and only if the United States occupies a position of pre-eminence can we help decide whether this new ocean will be a sea of peace or a new terrifying theater of war. I do not say that we should or will go unprotected against the hostile misuse of space any more than we go unprotected against the hostile use of land or sea, but I do say that space can be explored and mastered without feeding the fires of war, without repeating the mistakes that man has made in extending his writ around this globe of ours."
    "There is no strife, no prejudice, no national conflict in outer space as yet. Its hazards are hostile to us all. Its conquest deserves the best of all mankind, and its opportunity for peaceful cooperation may never come again. But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?"
    "We choose to go to the Moon. We choose to go to the Moon... We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too."
    - Kristen Wright,ripping off JFK.November 21st,1099,local Terra time.
