TMT Steel stands for Thermo Mechanically Treated Steel. Hard outside and softer inner core are the two surfaces of the TMT bar. It is mostly used in concrete reinforcement structures, flyovers, dams, bridges, thermal plants, industrial structures and hydel power plants.
The manufacturing process of Thermo Mechanical Treatment includes five steps:
1. Extraction of iron from its ore.
2. Heating, rolling and forming of a reinforced bar.
3. Quenching.
4. Self-tempering.
5. Atmospheric cooling.

After working at a steel mill in the old days, two things: its clean and the process is the same except miniaturized from what I had to repair
Just the engineering required to design these systems is incredible. Mechanically, electrically, pnuematically and make it all function together ,synchronized is simply incredible. How every moving or stationary part has a function in the process. I really enjoy these type of videos.

They call it ingots cut in 12 meter lenght to providea easy transport from steel plant to ship ,then unload to her country distination where it will be again re- process to steel bar to serve the demand of construction industrial sector .

Why do they bend the 12m stack of rebar in the end? What's the point?
For Transportation. Local Transportation is difficult with 12 stack. So they bend it to 6m to transport in general 6m load trucks.
@@naveensankOkay. What happpens to the middle of the stack where most of the bending force is applied to? I mean does it straighten back after transport and releasing of tension?
No the bar is bend beyond yeild point but they cut it to the size requird on site and the bent part can be straightened and used as per the requirement on site and will not effect the performance.
