- Welcome to Unguided, where I'm trying to complete every quest in old school runescape without using a guide, wiki or plugins. I'll only be using my limited knowledge and in-game learnings. Full rules below.

RULES
- No use of OSRS wiki (or any equivalent) for anything - this includes looking up item spawns, quest guides, boss guides, anything
- No use of any other quest helper sites
- No use of quest helper plugin
- Essentially no use of any outside-game assistance
CAVEATS
- I love OSRS TH-cam, I might inadvertently learn something I don't know by watching my favourite content creators, but I'm not going to stop watching them so that's just a risk I'm willing to take + it's unlikely going to be relevant for me
- I may use some QoL plugins, but only a few. Loot tracker to prove grinds, ground items so I don't miss drops (and to add cool loot beams lol) and left click to use bones. Nothing that will give me info I didn't previously have
- I'm going to try and avoid any spoiler comments. If you can, please try not to help me if there's an episode where I'm stuck on something. I appreciate the sentiment but telling me an item spawn or quest step could spoil the fun :)

TBH I dont play rune scape, I played a lil bit back in 05 or 06 for maybe a month or so. only free to play. I just watch some youtuber showing osrs cuz the game looks like fun maybe Ill try it one day.

@@EricN73158theres never been a better time than now to play it. It's more popular than ever and has had a ton of content and QOL updates. Play old-school though RS3 is complete ass and riddled with micro transactions

i cant imagine how long mournings end part 2 or song of the elves is gonna be lol . i had a guide and that shyt took me hours

It was a huge scandal when the climbing boots suddenly got their price set to 75k. Some clan even hoarded loads of them and then made billions after the update.
one clan in particular that a jmod was apart of (mod mark, or markdonalds), he let the info slip

Some people made literal billions, while I sat in my bank with my 8 climbing boots. Felt so unfair.
They then made the original boots statless and made separate "rock climbing boots" but by then the damage had already been done.

I think the option to gamble with Harold does make sense, though it is kind of weird that you still have the option to get him a drink without knowing that he's a drinker and a gambler

It's really cool seeing you get better at the game while you play! Now you don't get hung up on quirks like the family crest situation - I do kind of miss the excruciating process of watching you just miss the correct answer though.

Desert Treasure hype!!! I'm excited to see how you tackle the challenges of the boss fights for each gem. The smoke or dust gem confused the heck out of me. And the frost gem was super tough with all the stat draining. Good luck sir!

Yeah, in the early days of Runescape the game was a lot less complicated, fewer moving parts and all that, so the developers designing the quests were like "eh, the players will figure it out, there's not that many possibilities to try!" But with every new item, area, and NPC added, the possible permutations of things you can try increase exponentially, so that philosophy is not very future-proof, so to speak. Add to that the antiquated game design notion that players always need to do things in a specific order and aren't allowed to skip steps even if they could make an educated guess for where to go next (like in this case asking the sherpa for help or getting the guard drunk) and the frustration is complete.
Jagex doesn't often go back and adjust their old content unless it's glaringly broken or they have a specific reason to re-do it, especially not in Old School since the whole point is that the old stuff remains as-is. RS3 has a more modernized design and is hence a lot better about pointing you where to go, marking which items and NPCs are relevant for which quests with little icons, and even giving you the option to preview which items you need in the quest log before you begin (which isn't accurate 100% of the time, but it's usually reliable). The flip side, of course, is that this can at times feel a little 'handhold-y' and overly safe.

Fantastic fish sack progress update
it would un-ironically be a good premise for a single player game.. you play as the last player in an mmorpg, the npcs have slowly gone a bit rampant, some of them appear to be becoming sentient but you can't be sure, there's a hint of some sort of controlling power, like an ai.

This was a great example of how your previous experience actually made the quest harder lol Thinking you knew what to do, only railroading yourself into trying to brute force the solution instead of playing like you normally would and just checking more npc's for dialogue lol

I imagine the player character hitting the bread and trout against the door in desparation. After you finish the quest, the sherpa finds a pile of mashed fish and stale breadcrumbs at his doorstep.

I've gotten hooked on aerial fishing since I learned about it from the previous episode. It does really suck that such an intensive training method is notably worse for XP (even if the two skill experiences were combined) than more AFK methods...

Great series your probably quite right about how the game forces you to go back and forth. I guess if you just had the correct items already or say brute forced the combination the quest would be even shorter than it is. While it technically would work the players character seems awful dumb at times
I started my first iron man like a year ago and had literally no idea what I was doing. Now my iron passed my main lol love Ironman. Everyone should give it a try, I thought it was gonna suck
the fruit is op af
White Tree Fruit is a food acquired by picking the White tree in the Varrock palace garden, after the Garden of Tranquillity quest. The tree grows one fruit approximately every 5 minutes and can hold up to 4 fruit at a time. Picking one grants 12 Farming experience.
When eaten, it restores 5-10% run energy and heals 3 health. It is a slightly more accessible alternative to Strange fruit if players do not have access to Great Kourend.
Due to being non-tradeable unlike other fruit, it cannot be turned to banknotes neither by Tool Leprechaun nor in bank.
White tree fruit can be used as an ingredient when making Supercompost.
By op af you mean useless, I presume. You spend more run energy running to the tree to pick the fruits than you get from eating them. That is sad
I've actually never seen the old Death Plateau quest, it's no wonder they overhauled it in regular RS
