Exploring the History on the Gold Hill Rail Trail. Learn about NC Gold Mining

  • Gold Hill was a boomtown once gold was discovered back in 1824. Stand on top of the 850 Foot Deep Randolph Mine and take a peek inside the 1845 jail. Stop by the E.H. Montgomery General Store to pick up a map to the trail and buy yourself a guidebook that will point out all of the attractions so you don't miss anything. Tell Vivian that Crystal sent you!

    Great place to visit. They have a ghost tour in the fall that I want to go on.

      Yes. I want to go there then also. They have blue grass on friday nights at 7pm and a history tour on the 24th of April for $10.
