I am ashamed of what my ancestors did to the natives of this great land. They should have been embraced instead of wiped out and segregated into reservations. My heart bleeds for the new generations that are forced to learn an indoctrinated version of history. In reality we new inhabitants have such a small history compared to this once great people. 10,000 years of history litter this sacred ground, compared to ours at 300.
I consider myself a patriot and American to the core as so many young men have died to keep our new land free. If we were invaded by an outside force.. would we not be absolute savages and show no mercy? Should I be ashamed to say if I had been a pioneer coming across the plains that I would have sided with the natives.
We've lost our touch with nature and with ourselves in this technology laden world. i encourage anyone who takes the time to read this to research the history of the people whom have been removed and to honor their memory.

I am the last male Morrow. What a gem for me as I burn out in the darkness.

Thanks for keeping the mountain open. I been going my whole life but this is the first time i drove myself there at age 32 and with a standard. That road is fun at 15. I live near granite quarry and my grandma in stanly county and soon me since she passed in 2020. Im learning the area so when i get up there i can get around.
