I'm 16, and I'm one of those rare late Gen Z'ers who watched TMNT 1987, all 3 of the TMNT 90s movies, The Next Mutation, and TMNT 2012 at ages 4-7 years old. I was also 7 when the Michael Bay one came out, and 9 when the second Michael Bay movie came out, and I thought it looked cool, but now, as a teen, I now realized that those movies sucked. Anyways, if you asked 7 year old me to sing the intros to 1987, 2003, and 2012, I would've been able to; And as an energetic hothead, my favorites were always Mikey and Raph! Leo was also my favorite. However, 2012 Donnie & Leo easily hold the cake for best of the squad. I decided to rewatch '87, the 90s movies, 2003, 2012, the Michael Bay movies, and finally watch ROTTMNT (for the first time) when I was 15, and I fell back in love with the franchise, and re-entered my TMNT phase (I was as old as the turtles too, lol). Decided to buy some of the comics too. Now, at 16, I still remember all 4 of the TMNT intros (1987's, 2003's, 2012's, and ROTTMNT's)....And I am SO GLAD I decided to rewatch TMNT!! It was amazing! So was the ROTTMNT movie!! I also watched the most recent TMNT movie, Mutant Mayhem, when I was 15 in the theaters last August. I loved the movie SO MUCH, that I watched it 5 times in the theaters. No joke. I was literally the same age as the TMNT themself, so having ACTUAL TEENS voice the Ninja Turtles for the first time is AMAZING. They even have the same cringe Gen Z humor as us teens, lol. I also loved the Batman & TMNT movie; That was phenomenal. Although, the TMNT were 16 in that one, so as old as current me lol.
Love how they made Casey a left hander in 2012 too. It's also canon. Left handed representation isn't often potrayed in media, so that was amazing for me.
As for my favorite intro? 1987 is a close one, but 2012 has to hold the cake. Easily one of the best kids's intros of all time, with Pokémon Indigo League's theme coming in second.
Rise has gotta be my favorite, i loved their characterization and they all have their own mystical powers, too bad it was canceled in the middle of season 2 ;-;
Mystical powers ruined TMNT becuse they don’t have powers like what
TMNT is great, no matter what iteration it is! Everyone has their favorite versions, but for me each version has its own charm.
I've never seen the 80's one, but from what I see from the intro (and that one episode in the 2012 version 👀), each tutrle has their own charming personalities. I've only seen bits nd pieces of 2003, but from what I've seen, I like the seriousness of it. 2012 has great 3D animation and I really love the fight scenes and story. The Tales of the TMNT intro is just season 5 of 2012. And Rise of the TMNT is my current fav cuz of its wholesomeness and comedy (but amidst all the comedy and goofiness, it has a great story and fight scenes as well). Also, Rise has such a unique take on the turtles that is a nice change for me. There was a lot of hate towards Rise the first time it came out just because it decided to mix things up a bit.😢
