Who besides Jerry Jeudy’s lazy, ball-droppin’ a$$ was even running over the middle, that star TE Russ had? Oh, that’s right! Russ had no TE!!! The only one who showed any potential (Greg Dulcic) is probably going to be an injury-bust! You people are comical.

@@marylallen1884: Exactly! Riss never had a problem getting a team to a SB. People want to say it was the LoB and Beast Mode.
      That’s Bullsh!t…I was THERE!
I know everything about the Seahawks and what they were doing before during and after the LoB and Beast Mode were there. No Russ, no Super Bowls in Seattle, and no consistent double-digit-win seasons, PERIOD!
You hit the nail on the head. Both Hackett and Payton lied to Russ and the public when they claimed they would design an offense around Russ’s skill set. Mahomes has that, and it’s why he keeps winning.
Throwing over the middle is like being a great free-throw shooter, and Russ is good at it when given the right protection and a body that can run a crisp slant or other middle route.
Remember: not consistently hitting free throws didn’t stop Shaq or Wilt from being two of the five most dominant players in NBA history - the others were obviously Jordan, Magic and Kareem. Kobe and TD were both arguably better as players, but not dominant.
Anyway, you get my point. Denver fans talk like they have great players. They don’t, and once Russ is with another squad, he will be himself again. A surprise team or two will bid on him.

I'm a Seattle fan who will always have a fond spot for Russell. He was a part of that amazing 2013 team and despite people saying the defense carried him, he was key in many situations that season that helped them win. He was a very, very good QB for awhile. But yeah, he's corny AF and seems way too concerned with his brand. The main reason Seattle moved on from him was the start of his decline plus knowing his very ruthless agent was going to demand a massive contract extension. Russ's team will never rework a contract to benefit a team. He's maximizing his income during his playing career. Period. I can't say I blame him, to be honest.
And yes, the ultimate irony would be Wilson getting his second super bowl ring on Bronco money while playing elsewhere.

I’ve heard some say that Russell is too reliant on his athleticism, and that his game was unlikely to age gracefully (unlike pocket passers like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady).
So a massive contract extension with him would have inevitably been a huge albatross at some point; if not immediately like it was for Denver.

@@chrissears5482 Then you must have an IQ below room temperature or you’re a liar and the biggest SEA homer around you need to put the koolaid down. You know if you had a chance at Murray u wouldn’t take Geno, no one would no GM in the league would. Murray has stayed on the field, he’s had one injury in his career and it was a non contact ACL. He had missed a grand total of 3 games in his first 60+ starts, several big name prototypical QBs have missed a lot more time.
Murray is a far more talented n gifted QB than Geno Smith is, a journeyman in his mid 30s who’s so good SEAs trying to draft a QB to move on from him. Murray left more talent in the toilet this morning than Genos ever had in his life. Murray coming of an ACL learning a brand new offense QB”d AZs offense to a top 10 ranking between weeks 9-18 last season with zero WR talent around him outside of rookie WR Michael Wilson n elite TE Trey McBride, there’s maybe 5 other QBs in the league who coulda done that with almost zero talent around them.
SEAs own GM wouldn’t take Geno over Murray given the opportunity to sign him you know how I know? Because SEA tried to trade Russell Wilson to AZ in 2019 along with their 2nd rd pick for the #1 pick which they wanted to draft Kyler Murray with.
Murray is an elite talent and one of the best young QBs in the league who’s proven he can play at an MVP caliber level, Genos a journeyman a career backup who’s an avg starter no one would take Geno over Murray. Geno doesn’t have close to the arm talent that Murray has and on top of that Murray is an elite rushing QB with 4.3 speed who doesn’t get hit n is one of the two best running QBs n the league n who’s set several NFL records and is the only US Athlete EVER drafted in the top 10 in two different major sports which is saying something considering the athletes this country has produced.

I know there is a bias on expecting Russ to consider removing his injury guarantee, but it is honestly pretty unreasonable for him to throw away all of that guaranteed money. I think the Broncos overpaid and Sean Peyton hurt any chance they had at working something out by benching and yelling at Russ. Feel like this is more an issue of buyer's remorse that might very much hurt the team because of their choices. You are not wrong about your criticism of his unlimited attitude.
