I bought an SRT6 a few months ago after slimming down my Pro Street builds that I've been doing over the years. From supercharged 33 Willys Sedan Delivery, a 49 Anglia with 635hp, and over a dozen others. I've now hit 75 and the energy level ain't what it used to be, so after selling the Anglia for 57k, I bought my wife a 2019 Mazda 3 Sedan in Candy red, and a, of all things, a 2005 Crossfire. Always loved the body style, and it had all of 25k miles. I honestly like it, more than adequate for a supercharged 6 putting out approx. 349hp. Yup, I do like it, and plan to do a slick paint job and poke some more hp into it - an all around nice car!!
I own the exact same car in Sapphire Blue Metallic but mine has only 6,201 miles on it. I bought it new and have kept it in showroom condition. Really love this car. Had it on the VIR race track in Virginia for 3 laps and it performs beautifully.
@@johnwhitneykokalis9990 It is a real jewel and now has 7, 454 miles on it. Had it serviced at a MB dealer who couldn't believe the condition of the car.
@@JLNewborn That says ALOT when the Dealer takes note of the CAR BEING SHOW ROOM CONDITION. I think that this model is a bit of a sleeper and one day it will get the recognition it truly deserves.
If only this had the interior styling of the Audi TT of the same years. Great looking car with such a lack-luster interior. I do like the door panels though.
I could care less about the interior in a car like this. If I'm buying a SRT6 or SLK32 AMG, performance is the only thing on my mind. If I wanted a luxury car, I'd buy one. But clearly this ain't it.
@@hakeemsd70m Sure but if you are spending any money on a car like this (which is in fact a luxury item since it's a 2 seat sport coupe) and be it $5,000 or $50,000 you certainly you want a fairly good looking interior. But clearly..this ain't it. The carpet doesn't match the drapes unfortunately. My buddy has a 2006 AMG CLK 55 and while it's a quick v8 I can't say the all plastic interior is any better than this either.
@@oldowl4290 I see what you're saying, maks have a great point. And that's true as well. I suppose I didn't find it a top priority personally but I see how it clearly reflects a proper luxury purchase. Yes Mercedes-Benz's AMG products do have less luxurious interiors than their standard offerings, don't they? Not something I ever noticed before, very interesting.
Yep, great looking car but the interior is so cheap and crappy looking with all that silver plastic. And yes, rack and pinion steering would make a HUGE difference.

I love my ‘08 Aero Blue Crossfire Limited Roadster! It’s a great car! And yes, the pick up and go is amazing! I will never forget the first time driving it. It jumped on me around a turn. My father in law and mother in law (who owned a few themselves) just laughed at me.
Everywhere I went it turned heads. I got more head turning on this then my Lexas coup I drive now. Hope to get another someday.... BTW I had the same color as this, but the coupe...
I’m pretty sure the term “Halo car” means top-of-the-line car of the entire lineup. *Ex: Dodge’s Viper, Chevrolet’s Corvette, Nissan’s GTR, etc.* Also I’m pretty sure Daimler (built in Karmann as you mentioned) did NOT have fun putting together this car as they always had a holier-than-thou mentality towards Chrysler. I wouldn’t be surprised about any intentional and purposely made faults that would’ve made the car fail.
This is a car, had I not been married to my ex-wife, I probably would have bought one when it was made. It's a beautiful vehicle 😍! Still is! (2020) Don't worry about the Crows! Who cares! We like who we like! (Ohio Players, KISS, Chaka Khan, Gospel Gangstaz)! We like who we like!
No paddle-shifters on the SLK 32 AMG, not even on the next generation SLK 55 AMG, or lesser versions of either generation. Just the -D+ as you show on all R170 and R171 models.
I love the styling. Damn shame though that this has an automatic. Let’s be real, no one REALLY wants the Automatic. I know it’s a luxury grand tourer, not a race car, but still, it’s a driver’s car through and through. If you want an easy going sofa on wheels, get a Buick, or a Lincoln.
@@jojokrump1998yes, you could take a manual out a base model and put that in an S-R/T-6, however, that would be expensive and difficult, given all the millions of Mercedes-Benz plastic computer chips that are probably hooked-up to the automatic transmission.
I never realized the production numbers on the SRT-6 were so dramatically low! I almost bought that 2007 Vantage from Mary Ann a few months ago. I watch these to reminisce but I guess I need to be more careful lest I reminisce my butt into a seat! Your mosquito infestation at 12:00 reminded me of all the things Disney does to wipe 'em out. It's impressive! th-cam.com/video/_30jPKzWdN0/w-d-xo.html
The "weird right hand drive models" the narrator refers to so despairingly would be (western) countries that don't drive on the right side of the road. Yeah I know unbelievably shocking isn't it!!
I was enjoying this review until 2:43. This is everything SRT is not lmao it is just a big engine and nothing else unlike what the guy says in this video lol

Your expertise on MB makes you a good Crossfire salesman 😂
He seems to be a Chrysler expert too

I love how it squicks with 20k milles

Hope you survived the mosquito attack ;-)
