Back when me and my sister used to play Ultramix 3, this song was as close to a final boss as we had. I'm pretty sure we only ever finished the song on any difficulty higher than Light once. Also, when it says "THE FLY" I always imagined that the whole song was just the soundtrack to a guy seeing a fly in his room and going absolutely apeshit trying to swat it.
Someone once told me that the distorted lyrics at 1:11-1:23 are saying "Know your name, trust yourself, you know you like no one else, have no worries, have no fear, you can do this, you can!" I really don't know how accurate that is, but that's really motivational, and it's so fitting since it takes place during the death runs.
I would venture to say that someone is correct. Awesome of them to include that motivation to finish what was one of the hardest charts in DDR at the time.
Speaks volumes to the intensity of the song as the creator (ZZ) that made it didnt possibly want to discourage the player but encourage them to pull through till the very end, that they can do it.
Yes!!!!! After finally beating it on heavy/expert for the first time ever after 10 years or so, I felt amazing. Despite the fact that most have gotten an epic of perfect score on it, passing it with a c+ and then eventually a b+ felt great. Still aiming for the A+ score, and then eventually full combo AA. *Coming from an average ddr player lol*
Many ddr mixes have come and gone and many clones and new games have been inspired by ddr. But 'til this day, this is still the most epic and awe inspiring song. My personal opinion.
Musically, this is my favourite MAX track. As far as the song itself goes, I actually find it more memorable than MAX 300. MAX 300's got the more memorable chart though.
Takes me back to those days at Jeepers! in the Palisades Center. I could do this song, and nobody else could. Not even my best friends Eliza and Judy could. I felt like a queen, dancing to this song.
man i remember the days i remember my warm up set was Maxx Unlimited, The Legend of Max and Paranoia Survivor Max ONI id get an over all A - AA grade as well and on doubles man those were the days
There's a song that was released a couple of years after this called "The Flight" which samples the sounds at 0:11 and 1:20. It's by DJ Matys and D-Gor. So I tend to think it's "flight" instead of "fly" but it sounds like it could be either one, and who knows which one it actually is.
@@ZenokweiAka OH MY FUCKING GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE NAME OF THAT SAMPLE PACK/CD FOR YEARS AFTER GROWING UP WITH F-ZERO GX (black shadow's theme, amongst others, has this sample in it too) 😭❤ THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
The opening in this song hits like a .50 cal to the sternum, and it’s just a freight train of pain from here on. Up there with Paranoia Respect and Trip Machine Climax in the “DDR Boss tracks with dummy hard intros” category.
It was supposed to be the ultimate boss song as each max in the max series pushes you to excel streams (max360), voltage and freeze(maxx unlimited) and the legend of max(air)
I feel like Legend or Maxx and Deltamax both pretty much have the same tune when it comes to music! Except Legend of Maxx sounds really fast more energetic and party like compared to Deltamax while Deltamax sounds pretty slow and aggressive and also sounds like it a Black Hole and Aliens and Outer Space like kinds of music!
I'd like to tell about my experience about this song that probably differs to most peoples opinions. This I feel from 8th mix and back was the easiest of the 10 foot Max songs. Its fast, but I believe the full combo was the same as Max 300 if I remember correctly but I might be wrong, its been a while. The step chart is by far the most basic of the 3 and theres an actual genuine break to rest in the middle of the song. It doesn't just pounce you into 300 plus speed, you get a genuine pause and a slow part. I found it a little easier than Max 300 and a respectable amount easier than Maxx Unlimited..
I understand where you are coming as you clearly states that you differ to most people. TLoM full combo at 500 and goes up to 333 BPM, while Max 300 full combo at 555 and goes up to 300 BPM. Max 300 is definitely the most basic of the three in terms of stepchart, as TLoM have somewhat complex / awkward section with jumps in the middle of the song (between 150-300 combo) and tricky ending, while Max 300 is a pretty much straightforward chart with only tricky jacks at the very end

This comment's last segment is absolute gold.
Beating this on heavy was my biggest DDR achievement ever. I nearly died due to my heartrate.
The whole ass mood of panting catching your breath while waiting to see your letter grade is definitely a feel that no other game can emulate.

Fav "sync": TLOM (dont judge plz)

I would agree.

Man these songs need to be blasted during world war 3
The fact this song was unmarked with what its BPM was, made it all the more intimidating to even watch other players attempt it on Heavy.
83-333 was the BPM, although it got up to 663 during the freeze step prior to the 83 bpm section.

What was MAX 300 then?
When you try to kill that one annoying fly in your home
and you name your fly swatter Max
And then the fly gets caught in a giant spider's web, and now you have to deal with that.

I remember teaching people that the ending to the heavy chart is basically gallops and jumps, after that they said the ending was easier. :D

hop, skip and a jump except without the hopping.
