I’ve had stream lights for over 20 years. I’m a heavy equipment mechanic and I love their products they make some of the most rigid flashlights I’ve ever owned
I just purchased one of these… Im an over the road trucker and we need bright flashlights to do all kinds of things… too bad they don’t sell them at truck stops… they would be sold out all the time
Mine has held up great , I'm a tow truck operator and do both regular and heavy tows and recoveries and have beat the crap out of mine and it still keeps on going
Great review so you guys know those are not proprietary batteries just streamlights 18650 feel free to use any protected 18650 batteries similar in height and diameter. I use LG mj1 batteries with 3500mah and they work awesome and give me longer run times. Just look and compare the hight and diameter to make sure what your using is close. Also I suggest using the same 2 batteries charged at the same time don't mix and match.
@@TacticalConsiderations Absolutely streamlight will tell you that but I've called many battery companies who say other wise. I think they just want to keep people from using junky unprotected 18650s. A quick search will show those are standard 3.7 volt 18650. My lg mj1 batteries been working flawlessly..
A warning to all streamlight users use only the newest 18650 batteries dont use the old ones the brightness DOESNT GO TO 2000 LUMENS WITH THE BLACK 18650 BATTERIES
I'm switching to streamlight exclusively for the American made aspect of it. thank you for the videos because I need to learn their products, I don't know much about them so this is very helpful. I have spent thousands on olight and disappointed with myself a little bit for doing that. I am typically very mindful of buying American, totally slipped on that one. It'll be fun restocking though. I just got a Streamlight Sidewinder headlamp to have in the car and for camping, and I'm actually very impressed with the build quality and the thought they have put in every detail of this headlamp!! (I've done a lot of research and this lamp is nearly perfect.) I've decided to switch to Streamlight because: 1) US made. 2) High-quality. 3) Affordable pricing. Today I ordered a Streamlight Dualie 2AA as recommended by Wranglestar. I'm certain I won't be disappointed by the quality. I also like using Pelican, they are US made, and have great emergency lights (the entire body of the one I have glows in the dark and comes in a clear wall case). One day I might afford more SureFire equipment, but I definitely won't consider any China lights. I bought a SureFire Titan single AAA light sometime ago and it's rock-solid too, but for my use case I can't afford the larger lights. have you had any issues with it? I had mine for less than a year and it just stopped working. I've had a few of the previous models and even the strion smaller light. the older stinger models Ive dropped them so many times and they've got wet. they've always held up none of them broke the only reason I kept buying new ones was I lost them each time. this new model just stopped working on me

I really hate tapping and tapping some more to change modes, plus every brand/model is different. So, having an actual switch is a nice welcome. I hope a lot of the modern LED flashlights move toward slider or pressure type switches, either high/off/low...something along those lines.
I bought this last week and really like it. From medium to high there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference in brightness. Is this normal or do I have a problem?

I love everything about this light except you can't find holsters for it anywhere and the one offered by Streamlight has terrible reviews. Can you tell me what type of duty belt holster you are using with this light.
Quick question...did I miss something or do you need to charge each of the 2 batteries separately if using the USB cord? If so then they seem to force you to buy the charger package as otherwise it would take too much time to recharge manually. For $150, they should include the charging package.
Hey Dave the Charger doc is included sorry if I wasn't clear on that the batter individuals charging options is just another way if you end up using one of the batteries for another light.
I love your shirt. I get it! Also, I have been considering one of these lights for mobile security patrol. I use a MagLite MagTac rechargeable right now. I really like the drop in cup holder charger for it. But.... The stinger is so sexy and I like the mode selection option. Better than clicking through the max brightness to my low mode, used most often. Hmmmm.
Its a nice light man. I use it all the time. I ran the hell out of it this weekend power was out everywhere at my property Saturday and Sunday for bits of time.
Go with the Streamlight HL-5X instead. You get 1500 more lumens and about 30K more Candela. And It has great dimensions unlike the stinger. And you save yourself about $50.

Yup. I have seen them last through pretty rough incidents like accidents both car and motorcycle on weapons and live, dropped off cars at high speed none fully engulfed car fires.

8 years!? BRUH, I have one thirty years old and just bought a new battery for it. It's a stinger, also, and much of the black anodized is off. And there are 13 (12.57) lumen per candle power. They, lumen/candle power are different measurements like fahrenheit and Celsius. Also to completely understand lumen, you'll need to understand the Lambert function. Meaning lumen isn't measured the same way. Candle power is one standard English candle illuminating one square foot. Lumen is measured across a sphere. Only the incident light, directly at 90° is reaching the surface at 100% and that energy drops as that ratio increases
I’m reading through the comments I’m so surprised to see all the positive words I’ve been using stream light for the last two years now have tried about four different models and the only one I have been pleased with is the little 250 lm rechargeable flashlight I just got the 2020 charged up today and using it and I am so disappointed in it especially for the price think I’m going back to pelican lights
