In hindsight I completely forgot about project x zone 2, which definitely should have been in here. If I ever make a part 2 or a standalone video about it it’ll definitely be in there 😅
You should also point out that there is a fan-fanmade project going on called "Elements of Justice" Which is an unofficial official sequel to turnabout storm
I think Ace Attorney as a whole had the ammo to quite literally make wacky stuff - the game itself is a mix of wacky and serious, so it allows you to crossover any media you could think
The most insane thing about the Ace Attorney/MLP crossover is that case 2 of the sequel series elements of Justice is legitimately one of the best Ace Attorney cases I have ever experienced. Like, it’s so goddamn good (and probably the best case Athena has ever been the main lawyer for) that I’m honestly baffled that it came from a goddamn my little pony crossover…
Just popping my little head in to highlight that we're still alive and well when it comes to the unofficial sequel! We even have a monthly release schedule of episodes. Currently on Case 3 - which has been a trip and a half to get to 😅 Great video and thanks for shining a light on other franchises that have put our favourite lawyer/s into their worlds!
@@AceAttorneyElementsofJustice agreed! Honestly thanks to aljavis and mr g for Dropping this On me and allowing me to get fully into mlp! Seriously Its AMAZING!
I can offer an analogue. There is a modification for the "Rivals of Aether" game, where it adds three fighters: Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth and Apollo Justice. I have a game like that and I played it that way against my cousin. It was a lot of fun.
I was obsessed with Professor Layton in elementary school, and when PLvAA was announced, I did some research into Ace Attorney and discovered Turnabout Storm. That web series got me into both AA and MLP when I knew nothing about either of them.
@@Barbieronpa And then you could have tansitioned from We Love Golf to Project X Zone 2 because both games have Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Ace Attorney characters.
No mention of Phoenix and Maya in Project X Zone 2. A crossover RPG between Namco Bandai, Capcom, Sega,, and even Nintendo joined in with a few characters
1. fun fact, there were phoenix wright and miles edgeworth ponies that appeared in the background of a (official) g5 mlp comic! 2. the totally real reason that apollo and pearl were chosen is because they both have big foreheads trust me
@@natashakatgaming6987 i don't have exact info, but if you check the ace attorney fandom wiki under the page title of "ace attorney references in other media" it says there i believe ^_^
@@natashakatgaming6987Found it! It's "Kenbucky Roller Derby Issue 2". If you want to see them, I reccomend just googling "g5 mlp phoenix wright" and clicking the reddit post. Otherwise you can google the name of the comic and either look at a TH-cam video (they're small you probably won't see them there) or go to a site that allows you to read the comic, but you're constantly getting sent to weird sites... If you want that it's page 9. Edgeworth's a pegasus!
@@natashakatgaming6987 I think I replied to this a few months ago but it's not showing, I don't know what comic it was exactly, sorry 😅 I have seen an image of it though
As of June 18th, 2024, Layton vs Wright is the only Ace Attorney game that remains handheld-exclusive. Though if they did port it, I imagine many of the touchscreen-heavy puzzles would be significantly reworked.
It's no secret that Turnabout Storm can be rough around the edges. The visuals aren't the best (though they do get better with each passing episode), some comedy and references don't land or are out of place, and there are aspects of the case that could've been presented better (such as the level of involvement of 2 out of the 3 non-victim OC, and the way Gilda enters the plot). However, the things that it does amazingly really turn it into something great. There's a fantastic emotional core, the interactions between these wildly different characters are very sincere, and the face-off against the antagonist, and the eventual final confrontation and climax, are genuinely amazing and hype. I'm very happy I got the chance to be part of the team of Elements of Justice, to help give Turnabout Storm a hopefully worthy follow up!
Yeah from a pure mystery standpoint, the Gilda thing was something you probably wouldn't see now. It's a subversion of expectations that relies on knowledge of FiM because, while they DID only specify a Griffon witness without saying who it was, Gilda had never appeared in the fangame before that trial and Lenora, an OC Griffon, was introduced solely as a bait-and-switch. And iirc, her testimony doesn't serve much purpose besides fanservice for bronies, and it's the reason the case ended up in 5 parts instead of 4. Still love Turnabout Storm, but this is one thing I'll mark against it.
I’m not sure how popular it is, but I want to shout out Logic and Trickster, which has AA cross over with persona 5. I haven’t finished it but it has an absolutely pitch perfect recreation of the courtroom segments of ace attorney in written form
Not to mention, the AA cast gets in on the Persona action too. This is especially true for the first awakening and it's the last person you would think that would be awakened first.
My personal headcanon is that the events of Layton vs Wright occur during Maggey Byrd's trial in Recipe for Turnabout, which would explain why it took Gumshoe a whole month to track him down and inform him of it.
Problem: Maya mention Hakazura Temple during the game mean it contradicts with your headcannon. But yeah, if the crossover was meant to be canon, it would take place during that first trial.
@@greenrangerfan1993 Ah, but you see, Maya only says the statue reminds her of the Ami Fey statue at Hazakura Temple, not the temple itself. The Ami Fey statue is the legal property of the Fey clan, so she would have naturally been informed of its relocation from Lordly Tailor.
Honestly, the Professor Layton game is hilarious in two ways. Not only does that mean england and japan have wildly diffrent calendars because the crossover presumes both series take place in the same world at roughly the same time(despite them not even being close interms of year numbers they take place in)...but it is also incredibly ironic. There is a DLC case in the second 3DS AA game that goes out of its way to say "Timetravel ain't real". Meanwhile, over there in europe... *insert scenes from Layton 3 about timetravel being real* Like, I get that the Professor Layton series is likely NOT supposed to actually be canon to AA in the end, but this is still just so funny to me. It's wild, you guys. Also, you are telling me that Phoenix got isekai-ed by two unconnected animal societies by pure chance? What's next, he gets isekai-ed into Pokepark?
Nah, he got isekai-ed into Makai (from Darkstalkers) meanwhile he was defending Heihachi Mishima from accussations made by M. Bison. He later gets to direct an underwater court case against the likes of Sigma, M. Bison and the like wit Edgeworth as the prosecutor.
I feel like part of the reason why PL vs AA works so well is in part because Labyrintha exists as an alien setting to both sides of the story. It's an in-between of both styles and it allows them to not be too burdened by the plots of either series.
I barely began writing a fanfiction story of a crossover between Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney and the Land Before Time, the premise for those who knows the franchise or those who are interested, Chomper the friendly Sharptooth AKA Tyrannosaurus-Rex is accused of the first murder in history back in Prehistory, him being accused of killing one of the resident of the Great Valley, the two mysterious Rainbow Faces from the seventh Land Before Time movie titled the Land Before Time VII: The Stone of Cold Fire goes to Phoenix Wright to represent Chomper as a lawyer, joining Phoenix Wright is his adoptive daughter Judy Wright, Apollo Justice, Athena Cykes and an old friend that came to visit Phoenix at the agency that day, the friend being none other than Maya Fey, it takes place in an alternative timeline where the events of Spirit of Justice didn't happened. With the five of them already having do deal having each a Rainbow Face body, though they kept what they were wearing and their respective hair, except they are feathers insteas, Phoenix Wright will have his hardest time defending Chomper who is 12 years old at this point at the Rock Circle (location in the Land Before Time VII where a setence and serious discussions happened before) since he can't use the modern ways to investigate a scene in this time in this period since one, he, Apollo, Athena and Trucy doesn't have any on them, and two, would prehistoric individual would accept them as evidence when what they rely most is how it is seen? how it looks? And what others say? Phoenix will have to fight to find out who has framed the friendliest Sharptooth of them all.
I wrote a fanfic where Phoenix defends Lupin III in court, and I spawned myself a whole AU where PLvsPW is canon and Kay Faraday is Lupin's granddaughter
@@lpfan4491 oh they don't interact in my fics, although I think it would be fun if they did. One of the other fics I wrote is a sequel to PLvsPW so it's like an expanded universe
Lupin III with Ace Attorney just sounds like that one thief, I think their name was Ron Delight, otherwise known as Masque deMasque. :p (Not sure how I can remember that well if I'm right, I'm too lazy to look it up for some reason, LOL. :p) I can only imagine one way to defend them would be like, they might be a thief, but their not a murderer. :p Or maybe they could be in jail and needing to get out again (I think that happens in the series), and like, a crime could take place while their in there, but they still think it's Lupin and Phoenix has to disprove it. :p (Maybe the other thief was Fujiko, LOL. XD I have a feeling defending her could be worse for some reason. :p)
Not a game but did you know the character designer and lead artist of Fire Emblem: Awakening drew art of Phoenix Wright and Lucina together? And then those two both appeared in Project X Zone 2!
One fan croasover I hope gets finished is "Ace Attorney: One Truth Prevails", a crossover with Detective Conan/Case Closed. Of all franchises, that one makes THE most sense from all the sleuthing, to the main characters being famous for pointing at the culprits. Hell, in Case Closed, the female lead's mother actually is a Defense Attorney.
I remember turnabout storm back in the day i used to be MLP fan (i was more casual imo so i wasnt a bronie... I think). Someone recommended it to me and i watch it It was WAY before i got into AA but now that i played it and looking back, it was really accurate to the games and writting.
I can relate about this, since I wrote a fic long ago where Derpy Hooves (a clumsty but laudable pegasus from MLP:FiM) get isekaied to the world of the MMORPG Ragnarok Online only to end as an assistant of a murder case. Writing cases like an Ace Attorney case is fun and challenging and is sooo satisfiying when you introduce plot twists and even fancy stupid humor (in my fic the prosecutor loved to throw water balloons to the defense)
There's also ANOTHER crossover and it's with Sengoku Basara... There are more costumes in Spirit of Justice that many people didn't know. Although I'm not sure if they're completely hidden or just cancelled. It features the three lawyers as three of the four main characters of the Sengoku Basara series. And they fit perfectly with their colors especially Apollo! Phoenix as Masamune Date Athena as Ieyasu Tokugawa And Apollo as Yukimura Sanada! If you look into Yukimura Sanada, you'll know why he's a perfect one for Apollo. Both of their voice actors sound the same. Raspy voice and SHOUTS a lot.
I hope you talk about the AA fangames next! More people need to talk about Contempt of Court and Conflict of Interest, they are both amazing fangames but Conflict of Interest is on par if not better than T&T in my opinion
Yeah I'm one of those who likes COC more. Both are good, but COC has a better final case and COI does some imo overly edgy things with a canon character. Fun fact though. Trucy was voiced by Kira Buckland in COI, and she went on to voice Trucy OFFICIALLY in SoJ!
Well-made crossovers have introduced me to so many of the things I love (Smash to Fire Emblem, Turnabout Storm to Ace Attorney...) I have so much appreciation for the existence of them
I loved turnabout storm when it came out and it was the first thing that came to my mind when you spoke of Crossovers...but there is another Crossover you failed to mentioned which is a Crossover with Disgea it is along the lines of Turnabout Storm and I think Turnabout Storm was inspired by that fan project
3:35 indeed Elements of justice Originally created by TheAljavis And now being Directed by the Glorious Mr G himself The show is currently on case 3 And it is GLORIOUS plus the bonus content and Seeing RETURNS OF OLD CHARACTERS FROM TURNABOUT STORM! (hint hint SONATA!!!!!) The show Truely beat the Old Turnabout strom sequel curse that killed many others
As a suggestion, you could talk about AA fangames, there are some really underrated gems Of course,we have the three most iconic/classic/old fangames, they are conflict of interest, contempt of court and trials after justice There are also some fangames that have a entirely original cast, like hexepta:mayor attack, which has you solve other really serious crimes like malicious hacking, jaywalking, arson, plagiarism, theft and chocolate-eating There are also some AA webseries that deserve a mention, like elements of justice, which is a sequel to turnabout storm, there is also the shield of justice, taking place in a world where phoenix wasnt disbarred, plus operation:turnabout and turnabout jackpot, little one case series that have a huge amount of care put into them Also, there is a deltarune crossover, its first case, called turnabout light world has sans undertale as the prosecutor DudeWithaMask's cases are well known due to their plot twists and their ability to create some interesting and great atmospheres,as well as having interesting stories Ace attorney:beyond the shadows has apollo as the protagonist, due to phoenix being shot and going into a coma Apollo justice:appeal to truth has godot as apollo's mentor, maya fey as a attorney and the bad ending of justice for all is canon Dark ace saga is a athena cykes game, with 2/4 cases completed
Honestly, I love Turnabout Storm / Elements of Justice. It works a lot better than you expect it to, and it actually engages really well with the core themes of *both* franchises. What happens when serious crimes start occurring in idyllic, peace-loving Equestria? What happens when the relentless effort to reveal the truth reveals unpleasant realities about certain ponies? It actually challenges the narrative of unbreakable trust and friendship between the mane cast in MLP in a meaningful way. Moreover, I think it also builds on the characterization of Phoenix and his companions in a great way too. It's super funny to see how the AA cast react in different ways to being transported to Equestria. I also love the direction they took with Phoenix's character, where he *finally* gets to actually act as a wiser, more experienced mentor figure to Athena and the junior members of the Wright Anything Agency, and be a real mentor figure for them and other new OCs. EoJ delivered on the most natural character development direction for Phoenix that I was hoping to see after Apollo Justice, and made the characters from the Apollo trilogy better in my mind by fleshing out their characters more. (Saying all this as someone who did not like the new direction of AA at the time Apollo Justice was originally released.) Phoenix is also just super wholesome and inspiring in general in EoJ. So yeah, it's a little rough around the edges, but I absolutely think the EoJ crossover is worthwhile.
WHAT? Turnabout Storm and the Zootopia crossovers are canon to each other??? WHAT!? Fun video btw. I completely forgot Phoenix was in Marvel vs Capcom 3. And I know you said you missed some of these crossovers, but one of the biggest official crossovers was in Project X Zone 2, where apparently Phoenix acquitted Goro Majima from Yakuza of a crime in Japan. I have no idea how Phoenix did that 😂😂😂
Yoooo, Been a brony for like 8 years at this point and haven't seen a lot of stuff mentioning MLP FIM since the show ended, really fun to hear about these crossovers!
Turnabout storm is wayyyyyy too good tho. I remember legitimately freaking out by the ending episodes 😊😊 Also ayyy, I’m the opposite. Turnabout storm was my first real exposure to My Little Pony, and eventually lead to my obsessions with the show 😅
Everyone talks about turnabout storm but honestly it’s sequel, elements of justice, might actually be better. Like specifically it’s second case is so good that I’m flabbergasted by it.
@@duelversebeyond I really dug the first case. But it got a little....Idk, it just felt a little TOO ridiculous at a certain point so I've taken a bit of a break from it, and now it's really hard to get back into it because I'm so far behind. ridiculous in the turns and twists that just never stopped coming I mean. It was a bit too much for me. Maybe I just get too invested and scared >>
@@thespeedyyoshi Fair enough but that’s kind of why I liked the second case so much. It felt like some thing that would normally be a last case in an ace attorney game, and the way the twists came up and actually challenged several of the common themes of both Ace Attorney and MLP was really compelling. But I do understand why someone could say it was too much.
Another fan animated crossover with Ace Attorney was Madness Combat! There’s two of them and one of them was Phoenix defending Hank J. Wimbleton after Madness Combat 1 The other involves Tricky the clown and judging if he’s good or evil
Omg we need more of these crossovers! I actually had an idea for couple like with Super Mario or owl house. But never actually made those because of a much bigger project i have and multiple after that (I should be careful with planning cause now i have atleast a year and a half amount of Ace Attorney fan game work ahead lol) But I won't be making the crossovers i just mentioned but (Maybe someone else will someday) also i would love to see Ace Attorney Fan Game playthroughs on this channel
Phoenix and Maya showed up in Project X Zone 2. And for some reason it’s implied they share the same universe as Street Fighter, Tekken, and the Yakuza series. Eventually through dimension crossing shenanigans even the likes of Chrom and Lucina from Fire Emblem and X and Zero from the Mega Man X series meet them. It’s wild.
Elements of Justice is peak fanfiction BTW. Best piece of AA fan media to exist. I wish it was brought up a bit more in the video. EOJ would easily take 2 days to watch from the beginning to current episodes (Including it's spinoff: Bonds of Justice) and the Project is only about Halfway done! The most bizarre crossover that works so well at the same time. It's just PERFECT.
Ace Attorney is the reason I have 2 currecnt obsessions now, Fighting games and mlp. Fighting games thanks to his inclusion in Marvel 3 which I actually wanted to play for a while after I was introduced to Ryu and street fighter thanks to his smash 4 dlc, thanks to that game I quickly became obsessed with the whole genere and I evem flew once for a tournament outside my country. Mlp because of Turnabout storm and elements of justice, I didn't care at all for mlp untill I watched these 2 crossovers, and thanks to that I fell in love with the characters and the world of the show and mlp fim is now one of my favorite shows.
One or two crossovers I'd love to see at some point is *_Ace Attorney [Investigations]: Courtwatch,_* a crossover with _Ace Attorney_ and the *_Overwatch_** cast (by Blizzard Entertainment; 2016-present)* -- with little bonus bits from *_The X-Files_** (1993-2002; 2016-2018)* surrounding to apparent *conspiracy behind the titular organization's wrongful and unlawful disbandment* by the U.N. in retaliation -- and vice versa.
I know basically most of the old ones here that are like 10-15 years old as I watched them when I was younger and have a lot of nostalgia for them. I’m surprised you didn’t cover the Disgaea one. I felt like it belonged there. I was definitely caught offgaurd by the zootoopia one. Genuinely did not hear about it prior to this vid. It’s Astonishing just how well AA blends itself into everything. There’s even a pretty short and sweet omori video and even an investigations spin-off of the MLP video. I’m actually really proud of the MLP crossover. It helped me teach me a lot of complex English as I was still learning the language at the time and needed to expand my Lexicon. Now I feel confident in my native-like fluency though. See you in the next vid. Take care.
Did not expect to see you pop up in my feed. Got a blast from the past seeing your name and remembering Danganronpa redemption. It’s cool to see you talk about Ace attorney too!
Phoenix:"(Why am I talking to the Nintendo Wii!?)" Nintendo Wii:"What are you mumbling about? Are you getting my sisters off the murder charge or not!?"
Okay, I totally hold myself from watching this because, while I love Ace Attorney and even I imagined some crazy crossovers with franchises I'm also interested, here I was expecting the madness that I couldn't accept before. And OH MY GOD! Okay, oficially we have Phoenix meeting Professor Layton (which is just so cool), Marvel Heroes (freaking epic), and characters across videogames like Street Fighter, Tekken, Megaman, Resident Evil, FREAKING Yakuza! Project X Zone 2 is a gem of a game. I knew about We Love Golf skins and still I wonder why Apollo and Pearl specifically, the foreheads maybe? But Turnabout Storm was so weird yet so grand and THE MOST KNOWN CROSSOVER WHAT THE- I'm not exaggerating when I say that this fanfic is esentially what defined fancrossovers back then, and with two unexpected franchises. It can't be denied the good impact this series had on the fandoms, the sequel speaks for itself. I already knew of it and even watched it full. It's great. But the Zootopia one? I was unaware THAT existed. I must give it a look, I like Zootopia (I also ship Nick and Judy) so that sounds promising, at least for an Ace Attorney crossover. Nice video! It's amazing how Ace Attorney seems to be overlooked back then and other fandoms did the work to help the franchise get a boost in popularity. And now? We got the whole franchise at the reach. Time did Justice to the franchise. Now we just need Phoenix in Smash. We REALLY need that. But also makes me wonder, what makes Ace Attorney a candidate for crossing over with other franchises? We had MLP and Zootopia. What's next? The Bad Guys?
I'm one of those who got sucked into the pony rabbit hole via Turnabout Storm, which I only discovered due a page image on the TV Tropes Funny pages for Fan Works. But it's a legit really good case even in spite of the crossover and pony elements. And from what I've seen of Elements of Justice, it's shaping up to be even better. Phoenix (Wright, as the X-Men Phoenix was already in, meaning most of the cast have to call him "Mr Wright!" instead of his first name) in Marvel vs Capcom 3 is why I bought a PS3, too. So something about AA crossovers just gets me to try out new stuff. As a fan of both Zootopia and AA, I'm insanely surprised I've never heard of the crossover fangame. Also, you're making an AA/Danganronpa crossover? I'll try to check it out sometime. It also looks like it leans more on the AA-side, which is my kind of thing, given I was afraid a more DR-leaning one would make killing/executing the AA cast part of the appeal and... I don't want that.
An Add on to my previous comment but the Fan Crossover i was talking about is called "Devil's Attorney" basically a crossover with Ace Attorney and Disgea specifically the first game(s) the one with Laharl and his crew
Ace Attorney crossovers in general are wild, for better or worse. I've seen a lot of people (myself included) try and fail to make Ace Attorney crossover with various franchises. I tried making some with FNAF and Undertale (because I was a stupid bandwagon person even when I turned 18, nothing against the franchises themselves), and eventually did one with Zootopia as well. When they're bad, they usually just fade into obscurity, but when they're good, oh boy do they go HARD! All the crossovers from this video are honestly really great, so much passion gets put into them and I love that!
I wish you also mentioned the Disgaea crossover from Lordiban, that channel generally has some of the best AA fanmade content. Operation Turnabout is such a good case, and it solves the issue that crapcom decided to completely forget about after AA2
1:34 I managed to get it for just 50€ ! The person selling it seemed like someone selling games for the fun of playing them, hence the low price, I also got Yo-Kai Watch 3 ! But from a game store, for 80€, which is still FINE as it is even rarer than PLvsAA. 4:23 Yeah I'd also love to have him as a smash character; along with Layton, as a duo-character or separate. And nice video obviously 👍
Phoenix in MvC3 is dependent on how much evidence he collected just like his games. Phoenix starts off weak (in ace attorney too). Slowly, you get more powerful with more evidence and wreck everyone (like in ace attorney). Phoenix is just high risk high reward.
Can't forget the time when M.Bison hired B.B. Hood to kill Phoenix Wright to stop him from defending Heihachi Mishima because he was accused of smuggling Resident Evil/Dead Rising zombies into a district from Yakuza.
Haven’t watched the video yet but I’m hoping the thumbnail means Turnabout Storm gets some love 🥹 EDIT: LETS GOOOOOOO WE LOVE TURNABOUT STORM IN THIS HOUSE I have so many fond memories of 10 year old me waiting for each part to come out, I still rewatch it to this day lmao
"they made TWO zootopia crossovers" yeah same reaction here. This is by far the weirdest set of crossovers I've ever seen. Ohh and the character stills are great!
The comments down below have opened up new media to me. Another reason to be thankful for this video. Also, I think the reason why Phoenix crossovers are popular is that most people like writing a mystery within that world and seeing how Phoenix will adapt and defend in said world.
And then there are the playable characters in a couple of monster hunter games, if you thought including AA characters in fighting games was not weird enough...
Love to see you cover the Layton crossover more in depth, as well as some Ace Attorney fangames, I played Zootopia Defense and it's a fairly decent game. Regarding random fan-game crossovers, I would also like to mention Ace Attorney: Legal Panels by SpyBreak001, it's fangame crossover of multiple random franchise per case, Pokemon, Ctr-Alt-Delete webcomic, Law 4 Kids, and Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, they're very much played for humor but also tells an actually deep and intersting story at the same time, would recommend. Sadly only the Double Team Turnabout, the Pokemon case, is avaliable on the current version of the dowload and I can't find anywhere that has the other two cases, Ctr-Turnabout-Delete, and Turnabout 4 Kids, the Jojo one was never finished. At least it comes with a demo for a bonus case, the Imprishable Turnabout, a crossover with Tohou; I would still recommend downloading it since the Double Team Turnabout is a lot of fun and bonus case is good as well, even if it's only the first investigation. P.S. Does any have an older version of the game? I would love to try the other two cases.
There's two crossovers that are both good recommendations for you. 1. Logic and Trickster: with Persona 5. My personal favorite fan crossover. They both use the elements of both series and blend it well. The court segments have that Persona flare while the Metaverse segments use the courtroom logic well. (Find it on Archive of Our Own) 2. Turnabout Communication: with Komi Can't Communicate. This one is more in line with most other AA fan crossovers with an investigation and trial. However, it was also filled with Komi Shenanigans making it written like if it was official crossover. (also on Archive of Our Own) And this last one isn’t directly AA, but a shout out to my crossover Thieves of Communication. The last two above are what inspired me to write it. And as a bonus, I plan to make a secert boss based on the first one I mentioned. Hope you enjoy my story. (Again on Archive of Own Own)
Speaking of Daganrompa, there are rumors out there that state the head honcho behind Daganrompa didn't felt comvertible with cross-over between it and Ace Attorney as he doesn't want kill off any of the AA characters that would present in it in order to move the game forward.
As an old school Brony (cringe, I know) I remember Turnabout Storm and My Little Investigations! Especially the latter; seeing that logo unlocked a deep memory in my brain
It's crazy that the Layton crossover game is hard to find. Somehow I have two copies of the game with me (don't ask me how). I'm probably going to sell one of them shortly. Probably even more valuable now that it'll be the only Ace Attorney game not part of a HD collection on the Switch.
UMvC3 was my first exposure of the Ace Attorney series. I knew to be in this game yiu had to reallt stand out in either side, so it got me wondering why was this normal dude who frim the looks of it has weird luck using his legal skills in an actual fight. After looking at The First Turnabout i never looked backed, eventually understanding that a duel of words can be just as epic as any fist fight. Also yes i agree he should be the 4th rep for Capcom in Smash, or at least put him in as a spirit.
So this is logic after getting a glimpse of your game’s trailer Leon in THH: *Must be proven guilty* Leon in ace attorney crossover: *Must be proven innocent*
AA7 is taking so long to come out because it's actually Saul Goodman: Ace Attorney and they're painstakingly recreating all 6 seasons of the show, trust me guys
Turnabout storm is so good To this day it is a masterpiece in my opinion It has some pacing issues and art style didnt age well but hey nothing is perfect This crossover introduced me to both franchises and I became a fan of both With Layton, however I find this crossover mid at best Case 1 is boring case 2 is good case 3 is fantastic and case 4 is only ok Also I dislike plot twists in this game cause they make no sense Also characters are not as interesting as in AA game Also Layton steals a spotlight way too often that phoenix feels useless which I hate Zootopia defence I actually never heard of them So i am kinda excited to check it out Also your project As I said in your vid, case is good It does what turorial case needs well Im excited for your next case
Source: "Apollo Justice Golf Gaming" HOLD IT! There's a youtube channel focussed solely on the golf game with Apollo Justice in it????? That's somehow more unbelievable than the fact that there's an AA cameo in a golf game in the first place!
More "cameo" than "crossover" but since Project X Zone has already been brought up I'll instead mention SNK VS Capcom: Card Fighters DS - as the title probably implies it is a crossover trading card videogame for Nintendo DS between the two companies and the entire reason I bought it in 2007 was because some of the cards are Ace Attorney characters (I believe Phoenix, Mia, Edgeworth, and Franziska). It is not a good game. The localisation has very obvious spelling errors, and apparently in the original launch release there is a game-crashing bug that made it impossible to finish (I don't know if my game is a launch copy since I didn't get far due to the other issues it already had)

Just popping my little head in to highlight that we're still alive and well when it comes to the unofficial sequel! We even have a monthly release schedule of episodes. Currently on Case 3 - which has been a trip and a half to get to 😅
Great video and thanks for shining a light on other franchises that have put our favourite lawyer/s into their worlds!

I can offer an analogue. There is a modification for the "Rivals of Aether" game, where it adds three fighters: Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth and Apollo Justice. I have a game like that and I played it that way against my cousin. It was a lot of fun.
@@Sodoy Sounds cool!
And Layton.

I was obsessed with Professor Layton in elementary school, and when PLvAA was announced, I did some research into Ace Attorney and discovered Turnabout Storm. That web series got me into both AA and MLP when I knew nothing about either of them.

Huge missed opportunity not to transition from Turnabout Storm to We Love Golf, using the throughline of the golf club from Turnabout Storm.
This would have been brilliant you’re so right
@@Barbieronpa I even thought of the golf club when you did the transition
@@Barbieronpa And then you could have tansitioned from We Love Golf to Project X Zone 2 because both games have Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Ace Attorney characters.
Never forget Maya is portrayed in official material as being able to knock Hulk on his ass
2. the totally real reason that apollo and pearl were chosen is because they both have big foreheads trust me
Can I ask where it is? And which issue it is?
@@Brunosky_Inc agreed
Shout out to aljavis and mr g for both starting and now directing this project respectively
I actually got introduced to Ace Attorney via Turnabout Storm, no joke
I got introduced to MLP from Turnabout Storm so it works both ways ^^

Turnabout storm is how I got into ace attorney at age 10 lmao. I don’t know how well it holds up but I think back on it very fondly
I’m not sure how popular it is, but I want to shout out Logic and Trickster, which has AA cross over with persona 5. I haven’t finished it but it has an absolutely pitch perfect recreation of the courtroom segments of ace attorney in written form
I’m actually started to come back to this, and honestly, I’m glad to have rediscover this crossover story.
*insert scenes from Layton 3 about timetravel being real*
Like, I get that the Professor Layton series is likely NOT supposed to actually be canon to AA in the end, but this is still just so funny to me. It's wild, you guys.
Also, you are telling me that Phoenix got isekai-ed by two unconnected animal societies by pure chance? What's next, he gets isekai-ed into Pokepark?
Nah, it'd probably be a detective Pikachu game.
the layton game isn't canon but it would be incredibly funny if it was
Nah, he got isekai-ed into Makai (from Darkstalkers) meanwhile he was defending Heihachi Mishima from accussations made by M.
I know it was shown but I just wanna bring up that MLP Elements of Justice is still going currently on case 3 being updated monthly.
Indeed!
And we got a discord as well!
Come hang out!

Gotta say about your Ace Attorney x Danganronpa crossover I’m glad Athena is included. Because Mondo and quite a fair handful of others need therapy.
Wait, hold on. What does Lupin have to do with Professor Layton? xD That's such a random thing to write into this fanfiction.
I can only imagine one way to defend them would be like, they might be a thief, but their not a murderer. :p
Or maybe they could be in jail and needing to get out again (I think that happens in the series), and like, a crime could take place while their in there, but they still think it's Lupin and Phoenix has to disprove it. :p (Maybe the other thief was Fujiko, LOL. XD I have a feeling defending her could be worse for some reason. :p)
@@MatthewHyder-hr8ux if you want to check it out, the fic is on Ao3! It's titled Turnabout the Third and I'm very proud of it
3:43 Though in elements of justice one of the characters from My little investigations aka Philo Reed shows up!
I think). Someone recommended it to me and i watch it
It was WAY before i got into AA but now that i played it and looking back, it was really accurate to the games and writting.
Ace Attorney x Zootopia somehow fits since you are dealing with cops helping out a defense attorney.
Wasn't there a whole ending dedicated to ace attorney in henry stickmin?
Yeah, bro was in prison and called up a stick-Phoenix.
Phoenix as Masamune Date
Athena as Ieyasu Tokugawa
And Apollo as Yukimura Sanada!
If you look into Yukimura Sanada, you'll know why he's a perfect one for Apollo. Both of their voice actors sound the same. Raspy voice and SHOUTS a lot.
Would be really cool to see Nahyuta as Mitsunari Ishida
I hope you talk about the AA fangames next! More people need to talk about Contempt of Court and Conflict of Interest, they are both amazing fangames but Conflict of Interest is on par if not better than T&T in my opinion
I second this honestly!
@lyriffs777 eee
COI is worse than COC imo
The final villain in COC is much better, and cases imo are better
Yeah I'm one of those who likes COC more. Both are good, but COC has a better final case and COI does some imo overly edgy things with a canon character.
Fun fact though. Trucy was voiced by Kira Buckland in COI, and she went on to voice Trucy OFFICIALLY in SoJ!
Well-made crossovers have introduced me to so many of the things I love (Smash to Fire Emblem, Turnabout Storm to Ace Attorney...) I have so much appreciation for the existence of them
I really like your voice and character model. Thanks for the video.
Holy shit, drop everything. New Barbieronpa upload 🔥🔥🔥!
We are so cooking with EoJ, probably one of the most well written fan crossovers in a WHILE

As a suggestion, you could talk about AA fangames, there are some really underrated gems
Of course,we have the three most iconic/classic/old fangames, they are conflict of interest, contempt of court and trials after justice
There are also some fangames that have a entirely original cast, like hexepta:mayor attack, which has you solve other really serious crimes like malicious hacking, jaywalking, arson, plagiarism, theft and chocolate-eating
There are also some AA webseries that deserve a mention, like elements of justice, which is a sequel to turnabout storm, there is also the shield of justice, taking place in a world where phoenix wasnt disbarred, plus operation:turnabout and turnabout jackpot, little one case series that have a huge amount of care put into them
Also, there is a deltarune crossover, its first case, called turnabout light world has sans undertale as the prosecutor
DudeWithaMask's cases are well known due to their plot twists and their ability to create some interesting and great atmospheres,as well as having interesting stories
Ace attorney:beyond the shadows has apollo as the protagonist, due to phoenix being shot and going into a coma
Apollo justice:appeal to truth has godot as apollo's mentor, maya fey as a attorney and the bad ending of justice for all is canon
Dark ace saga is a athena cykes game, with 2/4 cases completed
I have no idea how Phoenix did that 😂😂😂
Henry Stickmin cross over was crazy within Lawyered Up route in Escape The Prison of the Henry Stickmin Collection
Obviously, Apollo and Pearl were chosen because they are the cutest characters in Ace Attorney
Yoooo, Been a brony for like 8 years at this point and haven't seen a lot of stuff mentioning MLP FIM since the show ended, really fun to hear about these crossovers!
Turnabout storm is wayyyyyy too good tho. I remember legitimately freaking out by the ending episodes 😊😊

Wimbleton after Madness Combat 1
The other involves Tricky the clown and judging if he’s good or evil
Omg we need more of these crossovers! I actually had an idea for couple like with Super Mario or owl house. But never actually made those because of a much bigger project i have and multiple after that (I should be careful with planning cause now i have atleast a year and a half amount of Ace Attorney fan game work ahead lol) But I won't be making the crossovers i just mentioned but (Maybe someone else will someday) also i would love to see Ace Attorney Fan Game playthroughs on this channel
(Sorry for the long comment)
Turnabout Storm actually makes 100% makes sense to me. It’s just yet another case involving animals. The second where you defend one.
Turnabout Storm got into Ace Attorney and Danganronpa
My little investigations brings back so so many memories
turnabout storm is what introduced me to ace attorney, and plvspw is what introduced me to professor layton
What's next, a HyperDimension Neptunia x Ace Attorney crossover ?
Actually...... That sounds pretty fun to me 😅
Phoenix:"(Why am I talking to the Nintendo Wii!?)"
Nintendo Wii:"What are you mumbling about?
But Turnabout Storm was so weird yet so grand and THE MOST KNOWN CROSSOVER WHAT THE-
I'm not exaggerating when I say that this fanfic is esentially what defined fancrossovers back then, and with two unexpected franchises.
And nice video obviously 👍
among us. edgeworth. hes there.
Professor layton vs Phoenix write was my first game for BOTH series! I was a little confused about what was happening lol
Phoenix in MvC3 is dependent on how much evidence he collected just like his games. Phoenix starts off weak (in ace attorney too). Slowly, you get more powerful with more evidence and wreck everyone (like in ace attorney). Phoenix is just high risk high reward.
My dream crossover would be with Breaking bad where Edgeworth prosecutes Walter White, just image the interactions with Saul Goodman
Can't forget the time when M.Bison hired B.B. Hood to kill Phoenix Wright to stop him from defending Heihachi Mishima because he was accused of smuggling Resident Evil/Dead Rising zombies into a district from Yakuza.
Haven’t watched the video yet but I’m hoping the thumbnail means Turnabout Storm gets some love 🥹
EDIT: LETS GOOOOOOO WE LOVE TURNABOUT STORM IN THIS HOUSE I have so many fond memories of 10 year old me waiting for each part to come out, I still rewatch it to this day lmao
I hope one day to see an official crossover between Ace Attorney and Case Closed/Detective Conan.
I unironically want an AA spinoff game starring Daredevil and She-Hulk. Surely they've had some wild court shenanigans to spin yarns about?
EOJ MENTIONED!!!!!
WOOO!!
There's two crossovers that are both good recommendations for you.
1. Logic and Trickster: with Persona 5. My personal favorite fan crossover. They both use the elements of both series and blend it well. The court segments have that Persona flare while the Metaverse segments use the courtroom logic well. (Find it on Archive of Our Own)
2. Turnabout Communication: with Komi Can't Communicate. This one is more in line with most other AA fan crossovers with an investigation and trial. However, it was also filled with Komi Shenanigans making it written like if it was official crossover. (also on Archive of Our Own)
And this last one isn’t directly AA, but a shout out to my crossover Thieves of Communication.
So this is logic after getting a glimpse of your game’s trailer
Leon in THH: *Must be proven guilty*
Leon in ace attorney crossover: *Must be proven innocent*
*"COPS* _is filmed on location with the men and women of law enforcement. All suspects are _*_innocent until proven guilty_*_ in a court of law."_
You know what fan crossover I secretly want? Ace Attorney and Five Nights at Freddy’s. I legit think it would be cool
AA7 is taking so long to come out because it's actually Saul Goodman: Ace Attorney and they're painstakingly recreating all 6 seasons of the show, trust me guys
Turnabout storm is so good
To this day it is a masterpiece in my opinion
It has some pacing issues and art style didnt age well but hey nothing is perfect
This crossover introduced me to both franchises and I became a fan of both
With Layton, however
I find this crossover mid at best
Case 1 is boring case 2 is good case 3 is fantastic and case 4 is only ok
Also I dislike plot twists in this game cause they make no sense
Also characters are not as interesting as in AA game
Also Layton steals a spotlight way too often that phoenix feels useless which I hate
Zootopia defence
I actually never heard of them
So i am kinda excited to check it out
Also your project
As I said in your vid, case is good
It does what turorial case needs well
Im excited for your next case
Ace Attorney got me into Professor Layton and now it’s got me thinking about golf. Might be time to dust off the Wii.
oh i kinda got it right!! i love crossovers !!!
There is that one where AA crossover with Disgaea.
Seems you never ran into Devil Attorney. A phoenix wright disgaea crossover.

HOLD IT!
Project X Zone 2
oh so I was correct!
There’s crossovers outside Professor Layton?!?!?!?!
If you think the mlp/zootopia connection is weird, see who Phoenix connects to via Ryu from Street Fighter.
Everyone. Ryu connects everyone with everyone in the universe.
But who were you talking about specifically?
@@idoshanintendo Just to see the rabbit hole you can find.
@@AkumaTh I saw Ryu is connected to moses so nothing surprises me anymore
You forgot the rwby ace attorney game!!!
I wanna see a crossover of ace attorney and detective conan
1:43 Me too!
The first Zootopia game is well worth a look and is quite good. Fun overview of the series and its crossovers to be sure.
Ive been making concepts for a sonic/ace attorney crossover & stuff likr this motivates me. .!!!
