  • Tired of the cold water? Rain and swell keeping you dry, but still want to improve your freediving capabilities? Pool training is for you!
There is no better way to develop skills as a freediver than with pool training. The pool is perfect for improving CO2 and O2 tolerance, technique, and comfort in the water. In open water (the ocean) not only are there additional environmental conditions that can affect your dives, but equalization can take much of the focus and effort as well. Pool training is where you build your engine. If you're wanting a little more high intensity, this is the place to do it rather than at depth where the added pressure requires complete relaxation. As Harry Chamas says, train hard dive easy. This is the training part, and while it doesn't have to be hard, it is definitely the safest place where you can push it a little more which will make the depth dives feel even easier and more relaxed!
These sessions are for students who have attended a formal freediving class. You need to have passed all the safety requirements for the pool, but if you haven't quite knocked out the static or dynamic requirements this is a perfect opportunity to do so. Bring your gear (mask/fins/weights, and we recommend a 3mm surf suit) and we will take care of the workout. See you at The Plunge in Mission Beach!
