  • Here's a video of me playing the first movement of Muzio Clementi's Op.36 No.3 Sonatina. Clementi wrote these Sonatinas as teaching pieces and tried them out on his daughters before publishing them. They really are very good pieces of music, making full use of the expressive possibilities of the piano and are not childish pieces at all; they are scaled-down piano sonatas. Clementi toured extensively through his professional life, but home was England. In his day he was a major figure of European music influencing Beethoven and the early romantics. If you've enjoyed listening to this piece of music and would like to have a go yourself, why not get in touch? I teach people in their own homes in the South Manchester area.

Thanks for your comment Kimbowchimp8815! I'm not a good memorizer, to be honest, but I learned this piece when I was 15 and I've played it ever since, so eventualy it went in!
