Hey Guys, just wanted to correct and clarify some of the things from this video. The joysticks have been upgraded to a stick with decent quality microswitches, and that’s a really cool upgrade. They still don’t feel top quality but maybe a bit better than what came before it. After a little more stick time I realized that I needed to take a closer look. The LCD panel is interesting, it’s not the best and rather small (8") but not bad for a unit like this. I’m working on finding a controller board for those of you looking to potentially mod it. I also noticed that they changed the encoder board. It appears to be able to support games up to 6 action buttons. I'm assuming this will help with manufacturing, so they don't have to make a different encoder for each game. If you have any questions or want to know more, just leave a comment below. I will be making a more in-depth video shortly for my TH-cam channel. If anyone knows of a video controller that might support this small 8" monitor, please let me know. 10:16 BNEI not Namco... This is a hacked ROM from the internet by the looks of it. I've never seen Pacman refer to Namco (or Bandai Namco as they're now called) as BNEI. Did a Google search, and BNEI is Bandai Namco. However Pacman always refers to Namco as Namco over the years not BNEI.

Since this is a mini cab they should have put the power and volume buttons on top behind the marquee instead of on the control panel to keep it much closer to the actual arcade

It looks like there is some ugly scaling artifacts there though. It looks like they didn't use an even multiple of 240 x 320 for the native screen resolution.
Just get the Pac Man 40th anniversary countercade like I did. Looks and plays just as good plus you get FOUR games instead of just two. You get Pac-Man, Pac & Pal AND Dig Dug & Galaga. 4 GREAT arcade games and I spent $30 less getting mine for $ 169.00 at Wal-Mart.
I'm surprise he doesn't mention how small the screen is. They could made the screen bigger. For $100 more you're getting an arcade that is 4x bigger. Does that even make any sense with that price?

The screen makes it difficult to mod as all the video boards I tried on it do NOT work. I had to replace the screen and that made it kind of an expensive MOD at the current retail cost, so I can't really recommend purchasing this for modding at this point.

Hey Retro Ralph I received my new Ms. Pac Man 40'th anniversary counter cade on Friday afternoon it's very nice I love it it's black pink yellow with blue trim around it the games including Ms. Pac Man Mappy New Rally X Romaers.
That's a good review RR, but that's what get's me about Arcade 1 Up. They bring out Pac-Man counter arcade but no Ms. Pacman or my favorite Pac-Man JR. to me it's a little behind the times. but not a bad product, the little Do Dad would be great for my office.

Great video and cool to see the internals. I got a picade for $300 all in delivered (with a raspberry pi) and it's a 10" screen. It's a way better option than this, the screen is better, the control stick and buttons are better quality. The only difference is the picade is a kit that was a ballache to put together but it's not hard just a bit tedious. So for $100 more you get a better screen and controls it's a better option (in my opinion), if you are looking to mod a counter-cade you are going to end up spending more than that.
had I waited, I could have saved the headache of building my own arcade stick finding buttons waiting from china. drilling failing, and trying to set up a raspberry pi. only difference, i have a bigger screen aka my tv.
Complete garbage. For $200 do yourself a favor and buy a Numskull 1/4 scale Pac-Man. Its 100 percent accurate to the original arcade cabinet and is a true limited edition (10,000 units). Much bigger wow factor IMO.
No its not. Originally it had 5 men start, and extra at 15k, not 3 men and 10k. Also, there were sound issues. These might be fixed. No ones ever played it to the killscreen, and doubt they will, unless they want to cripple their hand. No thanks. Will stick to the 3/4 one up or the barcade, or wallcade versions. later -1

Retro Ralph I ordered myself the Pac Man 40'th anniversary counter cade arcade cabinet from arcade 1up from Amazon I getting it today I can't wait to play it I'm just waiting for it I was going back and fourth I was thinking about that one or the big arcade cabinet I went with the counter cade because of space in my apartment 4 games pac-man 40'th anniversary counter cade it was in my price range I'll be happy with it then I'll put a rasbarry pie in side later down the road plus the fact I'm a computer tech I'll enjoy playing it.
It's an odd choice that the two player button is just a basic white button. I'm not sure why they didn't do two white buttons or have a 1 player and 2 player button.
That 1 player icon just replaces the "A" button sticker that they had on the 3/4 size cabs - don't think they plan for people to leave them there it's just to let you know which button to press to go to the menu screen.
I think If Arcade 1 Up made this little cab with MS PAC MAN and the other pack in was Super Pac Man it would sell 100 times more then just a Pac Man game.

The only difference between this one and the full sized one is really just the size. It has the same controls. same printed art. It has a smaller screen but still a screen. Speaker and everything. You think 3/4 of the value of the big one goes into the particle board? This one is also already assembled. I agree that 200$ is too much but be serious. 50$ is only twice the price of those tiny 5 inch tall plastic toy ones that run bad NES roms.
@@dwarfer2309 I'm in Canada. The only way we can get any Arcade1up is to order on Walmart's webside. No stores carry them and it might take a long time before the small ones or even the new games show up on their website. I have never seen the website list the riser in stock either.

I was considering buying one then I just bought the picade for around the same price. Hundreds of games and better controls on the picade so it’s sort of hard to justify spending two hundred on this.
Already have the Bandai Namco 35th Anniversary Pac-Man Plug and Play, which plays great and includes more games. Wouldn't waste money on ANY of Arcade 1up's garbage products!
I do not understand all this wonder about something that already existed before that still exists in other areas and it is better, I speak of the many companies that produce customized cabinets, from far better construction qualities to these numerical products and all the same, I believe you are get paid for it.
Every joysticks are 4 ways. 4 way ones just have a cross shape hole that only let you push 1 direction at a time. It would be pretty easy to remove the ball top and little plastic cover and insert something in the hole to do exactly that. But yes I think the universal opinion is that 200$ is too much. 130$ seems more fair. over 150$ is just not worth it.

What I like about this better better than the full Arcade versions is that it works right out of the box with NOTHING to put together!

8 way joystick should not be used on a Pac-Man. Swap it out for a 4 way.
