I was the lead programmer on the video game for Legends of the Guardians, and our art team worked closely with Animal Logic to get the game feeling and looking as close as possible to the movie. It was a huge technical challenge, but was very happy with the result we ended up with.

@@apoc519 I loved it when it first came out, but I think in recent years there's been a bit of a cult following surrounding it. I've seen a lot more people talking about how amazing it was technically and such. I think it just faced issues with marketing because it came out around the same time as "Rise of the Guardians," and also it was a bit "dark" for a kids movie.
As someone who read the books though, I actually think it was a pretty good adaptation. I'd love to see a sequel even though i know it's unlikely

I liked it, especially the details and quality of the owl visuals. The story was fine too.
But I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. It might be one of those cases where the subject matter is kiddie and the art style is not kiddie enough.
      At least at first glance.

Suddenly the older one yells that he's going to kill the younger one (it felt like he actually meant it too) who comes around the corner and in front of me, so before the older guy comes around the corner I start walking like that and he goes "oh sh..." and runs away the opposite direction, and the younger guy thanks me for saving his life..!

It would be fun to see an episode looking at some of the best effects for space battles in movies in TV. It seems like a good way to discuss the balance between realism and storytelling. For example, a lot of Star Wars battles don't really make sense, but they're sure pretty. I think The Expanse does an excellent job of making space battles feel real and interesting while mostly sticking to realism. The effects of acceleration play a major role in the battles, as do both the enormous distances and speeds at which most battles in space would be fought.

bro i used to be obsessed with the Transformers franchise when i was like, 7yo. in hindsight, the animated shows weren't bad, but the movies were... *interesting*... but visually, i'd say the 4th one looked great in some parts, and the soundtrack was really memorable. this really feels like a throwback, and i like it. keep it up guys! Also, i'd love to see you guys to an episode with Melodysheep. He's made some really cool space documentaries on space and aliens and stuff, and it looks incredible! You really should check it out.

    And hardly anyone noticed.

All of the underwater scenes were absolutely breathtaking. But, whenever there was a lot of action, which was a good amount of the movie, it seemed like it jumped to 60 fps all of a sudden with no depth of field, and felt too much like a video game to me. It took me completely out of the story and I almost walked out of after the first half hour because of it.
I’m excited for the guys to jump into the why that was at some point.

i noticed how the fall of the bridge sign direction was reversed to give an incline to the other two decepticons.
I am here noticing the iconic mid-air transformation of bumble bee and I am like wait his back is supposed to be the hood and other top stuff of the car but he lands on his back in other words reversed/flipped and in some frames of the initial transformation the tires dissappear inside and magically added on the outside surface and he takes off which should be impossible considering being reversed😅
That been said still my personal favorite scene and its been a blast hearing from the artist behind it!
Good health to all you guys.

Dimuro could have been a bit more honest about the reuse of that shot from The Island. It was done because an extra got seriously hurt during the filming of whatever the original shot was intended to be and she sued the production. Bay had no choice but to reuse Island footage.

A cool special effects that I'll always remember is the Giant Squid fight from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It was their first live action film, production went overbudget, and if it wasn't successful at the time we probably wouldn't have a disneyland or the company we see today.

Correction: a rig is not "A hierarchical chain of bones". That is a skeleton. A rig (or puppet depending on who you ask) is the setup that allows animators to control the skeleton of a 3D character efficiently. In this case, a octopus can have different types of rigs, that can be then switched depending on the interaction. The most simple switch is between Fk/Ik rig.
