      Easily one of the most fun passers and slashers to watch as well. Dude he had so many different passes in his locker, with both hands and so many ball fakes it made your brain hurt. He also made playing defence looking fun as well, he'd scrap for everything, get in guys' faces and be 2 steps ahead on opposition plays to the point he could jump passing lanes before the initial player had caught the ball. I've been a massive Miami Heat fan since the early 2000's but man I can't help but appreciate the player Rondo used to be and still is. Imagine how much better he could have been if he came into the league with the outside shot he has now.

    Under-rated playoff performer. He's so good at figuring out teams. Did a lot more for the Celtics than people give him credit (especially in the playoffs), they really were a big 4. If the Lakers made the playoffs they could be a force with him running it. Remember Bulls-Celtics 2017, he carried the Bulls 2-0 with a genius performance, got hurt and they lost the next 4. Next year similar situation with the Pelicans. The guy gives any team a chance in the playoffs.

      First name Last name Rondo attempted .4 a game in his rookie season (20 years of age) and made 21% of them. Poor but better than Ben Simmons who is 22 years old has only shot 15 in 2 seasons and is yet to ever make one. By 22 Rondo was shooting 0.6 a game and making 31% of these shots.
      He is by no means a good three point shooter (quite bad in all honesty) but comparing him to Ben Simmons who has never made a three throughout two seasons while being in a league that is so three point dominated is just so disrespectful to Rondo and gives Simmons waaaay too much of a pass.

    • @FirstnameLastname-qb2bg
      @FirstnameLastname-qb2bg 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MarcoGeeWS I get where you’re coming from, the reason I still think it’s a fair comparison is the fact that Simmons is almost 7 feet tall. He’s been a hybrid big man his whole life. He gets graded on a curve compared to a guy barely 6 feet tall that played PG his whole life. He’s basically a dribbling big man. Similar situation with Giannis. Being able to make an open reluctant shot occasionally is a very low bar for a player 6’1. Big men who suck at shooting is very common. 6’1 players who can’t make FTs, sucks at shooting and the scouting report says leave him wide open is unheard of. Simmons could’ve easily played his career as a PF/C.

    best pg of that four year stretch. no one controlled the game like he did at that time. you also could've mentioned his incredible stats as a King despite the team's lack of success, & maybe touched on how his 8-seed Bulls squad had the 1-seed Celts cooked, winning the first two games in Boston, overwhelmingly b/c of Rondo's play, until he went down w/ an injury. also, when he dropped a 20-plus ast game as a Pelican against the Warriors in that year's playoffs, becoming the first player to drop 20+ ast in a playoff game since... Rajon Rondo lol. no one's done it since. vastly underrated all around, and should be a HOFer in my book.

    One of the most underrated dudes in history. No ring for the Celtics or lakers without him. People don't understand how good he was. People don't realize he was the best player on the Celtics for a long time and basically the team's leader. KG and Pierce got old and Rondo became the best and the most valuable and important to the team. He even outplayed LeBron one year and FREQUENTLY led Boston in points, assists and EVEN REBOUNDS in games. Dude dropped a triple double on LeBron in the conference finals in 2010 with 18 rebounds, keep in mind this dude is 6'1.
    But the big thing everyone forgets about is that he led the Celtics to the conference finals in 2012 and was ONE WIN away from a trip to the finals, where they most likely would have beat OKC and Rondo 100% would've been finals MVP, he played at the highest level and was the best player on the team at the time. they were so close to that series too, that was when Rondo dropped 44 on em and nearly won the game, had they won that game history would be different.
    POINT IS I'm so tired of Rondo being slept on, and people are saying "playoff Rondo is real!" no its BEEN real, he's always been this good and there was a time when he was the best point guard in the entire league. I've been watching him since I was little and he's been my favorite PG ever since. People don't realize if it wasn't for 2 separate devastating game 7s, Rondo would be a 4X NBA CHAMP. True NBA fans who've actually consistently watched know how good he is, EVEN STILL. dude has been underrated for his ENTIRE career but this man is a hall of famer and a legend and he ain't even done yet, top 15 point guard all time in my opinion

Also spending his entire career in the stacked western conference while rondo played In a significantly weaker east as one of the lone title threats at the time outside of Howard's magic. Rondo is not the reason he won a title. 90% of rondo's resume is based of that title. Without it he stands little to no chance of making the hof and may barely make it in with it. • @MaChao2
      @MaChao2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty similar skill sets TBH before Rondo's major injury... I think he adjusted his game after that to avoid injuries kind of like D. Rose has done. He is focused on being a playmaker and getting others involved now, he developed an "ok" jumpshot like Rose and improved 3pt shot. But not being able to take contact and slash to the net hurt his scoring a bunch... Rondo had a ridiculous # of moves at the rim in his bag tho, probably more than CP3, before his injury.... the NBA doesn't value or use scorers who dont have consistent 3pt shots either... they had Rose as a catch n shoot wing in Detroit... waste of talent... similarly, I think Rondo is not used as a scoring option, seems like teams want him to come off the bench and get their bench open looks, rather than creating his own shot, he has lost some of his 1st step quickness too so his shot choices that used to be good are gonna get blocked now, like Rose, he relied alot on quick release and movement to get the ball off... CP3, while being similar in many ways, had kind of equal offense ability-wise at the start of his career. He also suffered some big injuries that impacted him, but I think since he was relied on as a scoring option much more than Rondo, he found a mid-range game and a jumpshot earlier in his career. It's a really tough comparison because I think they have a lot of old-school point guard traits in common, but are relied upon to do very different things... think CP edges him out in scoring but Rondo can make some MUCH crazier passes and literally put down 20 assists w/'o a turnover... CP used to have more turnovers but later in his career he has gotten better at it...
      Love them both.... rings aren't everything....

      Spartan Realah Can’t forget about him being the key to beating the Celtics back in 2017. After Rondo went down Bulls momentum completely evaporated

    Before his first major injury, Prime Time Rondo was actually better than Prime Time Lebron...
    Unfortunately , Prime time Rondo only existed for about 6 years ,,,
    And Rondo DID carry the Celtics to a ring ,, Yes HE DID ...
    it was RONDO , who singlehandedly beat the Lebron led Cleveland team , and matched Lebron, point for point, rebound for rebound , beat LeBron in steals, and set up his team mates, with very few turnovers ...
    Rondo was the most important player in the playoffs, and Paul Peirce was very. very lucky to get the finals MVP ahead of Kevin Garnet .
    But it was RONDO who was the most consistent and most valuable player on the 2008 Celtics ....

    Lakers have advanced to the 2020 Western Conference Finals and Rondo is shooting 41% for 3-pointers plus playing pressure defense against James Harden.

    If Rondo Finds his game in Lakers
    Lakers Might be a Super Team

    Never forget how him and Jrue absolutely ATE Lillard and McCollum in that Pels - Blazers series. Yes Rondo was hard to deal with but that also made him very fun to watch. You always knew he will step up in the playoffs. One of my favorite PGs for sure.
