If he said a burger or chicken tenders, then I would get something similar, unless he followed it with "but get whatever you like." On the other hand, I also firmly believe that when you treat, you should only choose places where your guest can order the most expensive thing on the menu without it being a problem. If funds are limited and y'all aren't comfortable enough yet to just be like "okay i only got $30 to spend," simply don't let them choose the restaurant lol. You throw out options in your price range. If you suggest Applebee's or Chili's but they insist on Ruth's Chris, either they are inconsiderate or y'all are just in different places in life lol
