  • **UPDATE2: SOLVED! The first update with the full version of rasbian was done and the config.txt file edited to amend the HDMI_safe=1 command. Its the first command in the text file and it seems to fix the issue. The updated version does run slightly slower and lags more than the base without the update. The audio issue is still the same and i need to force it through HDMI as usual. I hope the Pi Foundation addresses these issues in a further update to make it easier for us newbs. Hope this video helps.
*UPDATE: Both Versions of Raspian Buster w/desktop were tested and found to have lost video upon 3 shutdown and power offs to the unit. With everything left were it was and applying power to the board, the video signal would not communicate with my 4k screen after update.*
The Raspberry Pi 4 Rev B Is a powerful single board computer produced by The Raspberry Pi Foundation. This 4gb version was purchased from Canakit with there recommended power supply. No video was the outcome whenever the operating system was updated past the base flashed image downloadable at www.raspberrypi.org/downloads...
The full image was used, so maybe more success with the others can achieved? When asked at startup if upgrades were to be installed I SKIPPED IT. Otherwise no video would be the outcome after rebooting once upgraded.
Also the audio would stop working after a few shutdowns so it needed to be forced through the HDMI. I used command line program raspi-config for this. Using both of these methods may leave you without upgrades but at this moment its working flawlessly for my needs and there was no need to actually go in and edit the config.txt file. Enjoy everyone!

Is there a way to edit the config.txt so that I can use both HDMI ports?
I get video on HDMI 0, but black screen on HDMI 1. How do I get HDMI 1
to mirror HDMI 0? These are connected to two 50" TVs running a kiosk.

You would think by now they would have addressed the issue in an update. I still have to do it even with the new raspian images.

My "computer guy" talked me into buying one of these instead of another desktop computer because it is cheaper but I have had nothing but problems with this POS. I'm not a computer nerd and don't have the time or patience to be adjusting this piece of crap every time I turn it on. Raspberry PI 4B sucks for people that just want to plug and play.

If you want ultimate reliability the 3b is the best bet. mine still works fine even though its unplugged for months on end. The 4 just has better specs and more ram, but the 3b is fully capable of streaming at 720

No can do on a Pi 4. We are still waiting for true USB boot. I''m using the hybrid boot with mSATA on USB3 and M.2 NVME on USB3.

@@EirikurHallgrimsson but only the bootmanager works off sd card, so it know wich device to boot off, the os runs fine off a ssd/hdd drive
