    Can we just talk about how adorable this interaction is between these two partners? And thank you so much for this easy to understand explanation and demonstration. I will be trying this, as I frequently find flower pots I’d love to use that do not have drainage holes! In fact, the more I like the pot, the less likely it will have drainage holes, it seems 😂

      You are so kind! Thank you so much. And I agree with you the gorgeous ones usually do not have holes! But nothings can stop you now. 😍

    Thank you for this video. I have seen so many attractive pots that I wanted to buy, but didn't because they had no drainage holes and I have no drill to add holes. Now that your video has shown me how to put a hole in the pot without a drill or cracking the pot, I can buy so many of the decorative pots I was forced to bypass before. Thanks again!

    So Im scrolling thru n come across this video. Let me say THANK U! Such a great idea 2 share a video teaching others a handy technique. I noticed this is an older video, however the important thing is that I found it. There have been so many beautiful planters that Iv passed up in the store simply bcuz they had no hole (I dont normally put 1 pot into another). Now that Iv watched ur video, I can buy any pot or planter that I love 😁🧡 Thanks again! I would never have thought 2 look up a video doing this lol

    I did this! In a porcelain mug! I didn’t have a huge nail, I used the tip of a knife to get a little chip started on the glaze, tapped at an angle turning the knife point, then a Phillips screwdriver. I packed the mug with a wet towel and placed it on a folded wet towel to absorb shock. However, it did ruin the tip of the steak knife! :(

    I greatly thank you guys for sharing this wonderful & informative video, but most importantly I appreciate the happy & fun relationship the two of you have. The goofiness and giggling made this learning experience so helpful and truly entertaining. You mentioned at the beginning of the video that your husband doesn't care to make appearances in your videos. Well, I think he should seriously reconsider! The two of you make a great team & work so well with each other. I can rarely watch a DIY educational video without watching it 5 times, because I can't pay attention when I'm unamused/bored. Even though I watched this twice I really only needed to watch this once. The two of you throughly, quickly & easily explained all the information I was searching for in such an attention grabbing & amusing way. I gathered all the information I needed & surprisingly had fun learning it. PLEASE, think about collaborating together for future DIY/How To videos. From Jennifer, your new fan & subscriber. Thanks a bunch! 😁

    I tried it, came out great! One thing though I ended up with a big chip inside the pot so maybe I didn't put enough tape? Or maybe I hit it too hard. Also I didn't have a big nail so I used the end of a screw driver (the one with the 4 thingys not the flat one) and it seemed to work fine 😊😁

    • @SucculentSocial
      @SucculentSocial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad it worked for you... I feel that the major factors are 1) how compact the soil is inside because they absorb the pressure and 2) the amount of force of the hammer. But hey, who knew screwdriver will work.. haha.. NOw that the pot has hole, enjoy potting your plants in them.

    • @SucculentSocial

      Hi Hope, it should work but if you punch 3 holes in smaller pots, extra care must be given as the base may weaken and potentially crack. Pots with wide base (about 20cm or more) should be alright with 3 holes.

    • @SucculentSocial
      @SucculentSocial  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have not tried that but I’d say important to ensure enough distance between holes and I’d really get the soil compact to help absorb the impact and not cause the pot to break. Update us on how it will go.

      Oh I am pretty sure you can drill that hole perfectly. The key is 1) put the tape at the bottom, 3) compact the soil , and 3) to start slowly with hammering. Practice on inexpensive pots first until you get the hang of it. You can do it!

      We have done it on ceramic pots and they went really well.
      Just ensure lots of soil inside and gentle on the hammer pressure.
      If you think it is on the side of fragile antique, I’d be more cautious and use the drill on them. They must be really gorgeous pieces. 😊
