Fantastic vid with my dream bike/exhaust combo!! I've wanted a Diavel since they came out. Couldn't justify the price, so ended up getting a Harley Sportster S last year. It's is great, but it's no Diavel. On a serious note. 30 years of heart burn! That's proper serious mate! You need to get referred to a specialist. The medication you're on like Nexium has its own long term issues. At least speak to your doctor. This message could save your bacon mate.
Yeah the v4 Diavel with this exhaust is amazing… but a lot of money for sure.. Wow thanks for all the information.. I will look into to it for sure ,very helpful !!

They are a bit of a different sound , I guess it would be close, the V4 pounder on tick over and just blipping the throttle sitting still maybe .. the monster while riding and down shifting I would guess
Thanks for this video. Bought a Diavel V4 this weekend but put it into winter storage immediately. Will have this exhaust upgrade installed before I bring it home.

Sorry, if this question has already been answered, but could you share the trick how did you manage to remove rear manifold heat guard assembly without removing the canister filter, loosing the shock and the rear subframe (as the installation manual says)? Thanks!
Didn't know that this is such a big secret... I want to install the exhaust myself and bring it to Ducati for just installing software. If the installation does not require removing of the rear shock / subframe, it would be much easier
Sorry I missed this comment, but it’s not a ‘trade secret’ 😂 , I can’t remember how it was taken off or even if they did move the rear shock as I am not standing there all the time videoing it , obviously this is edited and not the full process but I will ask when I see Paul , maybe for some people it’s easier to remove the rear shock anyway , everyone’s mechanical skills are different and what tools they have etc, me personally they are not the easiest to install anyway so I wouldn’t get involved doing it myself but that’s me , if they didn’t move the rear shock then there must be a way of taking it off .. if it’s any easier then removing the shock I don’t know
@@ProjectMoto Thank you, I'd appreciate if you could ask Paul. Watching the video, it looks like he managed to get the heatshield off without removing shock/subframe. If so, that would make the whole job way easier, because otherwise it would be required to support / hang the subframe from the top to the ceiling or something...
Thanks, I use a go pro with the mic adapter and them plug a mic into it and have it inside my crash helmet.. if you are using just the go pro then you have to link it to the go pro app on your phone and set the sound to ‘wind only’ … cuts out a lot of the wind noise
I love the videos and sound of all the "non road/ race only" exhaust, question I have is - those bikes will be on the road (100%) and not on the track, who is going to insure it? I would love me one of these "not for road use" exhausts, but insurance won't touch me, so is everyone with not road legal exhaust lying to their insurer? When I was inquiring with Bennetts about "non road legal" exhaust they would not insure me. Thanks for your reply
We have a lot of people who do insure their bike with the exhaust , the cost alone its worth insuring them … I’m sure I spoke to a guy the other day who insured his with Bennett’s ?? Others have said their insurer didn’t care about the exhaust ,I guess maybe some tell them they have the Akrapovic system worth ‘x’ amount or whatever … maybe not leading with ‘ I’ve got a non road legal exhaust’ , I don’t know , for my RGV 250 which has everything changed , exhaust, suspension , bodywork, paint etc on my insurer I told them everything it has , was not a problem
I have a 1260 with the Termignoni exhaust. I am starting to consider upgrading to the V4 with Akropovic. Would be great to hear a comparison between the two if you get the opportunity for a future video!
I saw one fitted to a Diavel today and it looks good. I hadn’t heard it though. The cost of titanium has gone up a lot but even so, the price of Ducati’s Akrapovic exhausts has got a bit silly. Still, at least the bikes are easy to work on and fitting them is a doddle. 👍🙈
Yeah mate I agree it’s just like slipping on an end can 😉and this cost of living crisis has gone mental, people talk about energy cost’s, petrol, food, interest rates… where’s the news reports on these exhaust prices!! 😂
Yeah for sure, you would have to have one really ..imagine pulling up on your standard one.. and then one with the system pulls up next to you, the difference is massive, the cameras can’t show just how loud this is 😎
Sheeesh, that sounds amazing. Is the install DIYable for someone at home, or if not how many shop hours would someone be looking at to get this thing installed?
You could install it yourself .. obviously depends on what tools and mechanic skills you have.. some could get in a bit of trouble I would imagine .. if you buy it in a Ducati dealer they will install the map for you.. guess it would take 3 hrs or something?? Depends how many biscuits you eat I guess 😂 if you bought a Diavel and the exhaust I’m sure the dealer would just fit the exhaust for you.. and if not, your at the wrong dealer .. come here .. and bring biscuits 😂😂
Big sound improvement for sure. But for the bike. On handling, performance this V4 Diavel will be near but not quite up with the new Buell SuperCruiser's 175hp & 101 ft/lbs @ 450lbs wet.
Yeah the sound is awesome.. I would have to ride the Buell to have an opinion , especially on the handling side, I know what this is like 😎 bikes with similar stats can be very different t to ride
When you order the exhaust through Ducati they assign a Map for the bike , once installed it can be plugged in at A Ducati dealer and have the Map installed for the bike
The Diavel V4 is actually quite nimble on the road , don’t know you would really notice it that much in the real world riding it on the road but it will be helping without you really feeling/noticing it.. shedding a bit of weight always helps, you would have to really ride them back to back I guess to see if it fees any difference
That looks 10x better. Are there no noise levels laws in the UK. If change headers on my 1000sx from stock to aftermarket, the cops will fine me and impound the bike for the noise it’ll make.
Great video, long awaited 😍😍🙏🙏 I also watched the other guy in US with Acrapovic already installed and he says the dealer also made additional engine remapping. Is that needed?
How many hours did it take to install? I’m trying to decide if I want to do this myself or just pay the dealer. Is there anything needed to do the computer/slash mapping. I don’t have that capability.
I guess it’s around 3-4 hrs?? This was the first one we done though, for me it’s a lot of messing about fitting one of these system but it all depends on how good you are and what tools you have etc.. for the mapping you need a Ducati dealer where you bought the system , Ducati allocate a map for the bike that the dealer can install
Heart burn hey. Firstly superb video thanks bro. Ok for you heart burn mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a small glass of water before you eat or after you eat when you have the heart burn. If this does not help then try bicarbonate soda instead of vinegar. People who suffer really bad reflux either ned the vinegar or the soda and you have to try them to know which one you fall inder
Thanks , glad you enjoyed the video … ha yeah the heartburn has always been a problem , thanks for the advice and I will try it out and see how I get on , appreciate it :)
Yeah I had my Diavel 1260S stock one season, then put the Termi system on it. Still not sold on the V4 though, or the new look, V4 in the Multistrada and race bikes for sure, but the Diavel should have stayed a big L-Twin, also think this new one is a bit too heavy on the plastic, but I guess its trying to attract a different group of buyers than in the past. Think I'll hang on to my 1260S a while longer.
Yeah I get that with the 1260s , and tbh I kinda thought the same until I rode the V4 , they really have got it right with the V4, it’s an awesome bike
@@ProjectMoto I have no doubt its a fantastic bike. I just think they strayed to far from the original concept with this one. But it was always a nice model, not selling that well, the new one may have a broader appeal and better sales, which is the important thing for Ducati in the end.
I don't know why people keep knocking plastic, I guess the word has a cheap connotation but, when it's lighter, more flexible and way cheaper to replace if damaged, then it's the perfect material for a bike.
You know I liked the 1260s , and if you wanted to ride around the twisty roads with sports bikes you could if you man handled it a bit, but this new V4 really does handle nice now.. and yeah sounds awesome with the exhaust
You get a Map from Ducati for the bike when it’s installed at a dealers or if you buy it from a dealer ask them first but they should be able to upload it for you
Hi, I know you have VFR NC30 which I love the V4 sound of it (kind of close to Aprillia). I got Diavel V4 recently but don’t love its sound. It’s like a noisy tractor. Would Akro fix this ? and how is noise level at low RPM? ( I don’t wanna sound like loud Harley guys)
The Akrapovic will definitely fix it, you can’t get the full sound of this over on a video, it’s not too loud when your just riding at low revs … just when it’s ticking over and you rev it or when you get on the throttle it has a lot better sound.. it is louder for sure
it is a serious update to the sound, that's for sure, but can't quite understand why it sounds like a 2 cyclinder bike even though it is a V4 even with Akrapovic, somehthing to do with Ducati? I am new to the exaust sounds but take an MT09 or a kawasaki zx6r with a full akrapovic system, they sound like a proper bike if you understand what I mean. if someone pleaase explain, I'll be delighted.
Well they are all different for sure, with the systems on them ,for me anyway, the V2 has a nice roar when you open the throttle form down low and down shifting a sounds so good, the SF V4 is crazy popping on the shifter up and down, high in the revs it’s off the scale and this Diavel has a really nice deep sound and pop when you shift up (cameras couldn’t really pick that up) .. all awesome in their own way, guess it just depends on what kinda sound you like
Are you going to have Paul's 'Pipe handling gloves' in your merch?! I had to re-watch 'cos I was laughing too much to hear that brilliant exhaust. Fantastic vid as always. Cheers chaps.
The Diavel is not my sort of bike but that exhaust could change my mind. Ask your doctor for Omeprazole, it’s commonly prescribed for heartburn and is probably way cheaper even if you need to pay for prescriptions.
Yeah the bike now has the perfect sound to go with it.. thanks I will… I still feel like brand new for now so am enjoying this heartburn fee experience… for now anyway :)
I have s few ducatis, mvs and Italian sports cars, absolutely love Italian machines. But I can't for the life of me justify 5 grand for this exhaust 🤔 Never the less a great video, thanks
I was sold, and I will have mine installed tomorrow, and now I'm Really looking forward to this weekends fun run, I hope I can behave myself; not >.< Keep The Shiny Side Up...
@ProjectMoto I guess all the time they sell the price will rise. The Akra for my v4 is over 6k and I'm dubious it wont pass track noise levels so I'm staying standard for now....but it sounds pants.
@@davehowlett7147 the Ducati Track days at Donington & Silverstone you would be ok with the system or if you can find a Noisy day somewhere but yeah they usually push them over the noise limit
@@sadeshdmd it’s only on my camera/go pro .. unfortunately they are always trying to muffle loud noises so you can’t really here how good and loud this actually sounds
Yeah it’s expensive for sure… the problem is if you have a Diavel V4 and one pulls up next to you with this exhaust… your going to wish you spent the extra money
Wow thats a mental bike, sounded wicked.I reckon i would sooner have the monster sp for nearly half the cash though. Mart i get those tablets too (omprezole) i found ASDA is the cheapest.

That looks 10x better. Are there no noise levels laws in the UK. If change headers on my 1000sx from stock to aftermarket, the cops will fine me and impound the bike for the noise it’ll make.
Oh yeah there’s limits here too so you could be fined ..depends who pulls you over I guess, this is a race exhaust
Looks way better and sounds bonkers, did you change the ECU as well or is it not needed on the newer bikes
Yeah it’s an awesome upgrade all round.. you get a new map from Ducati that the dealer installs when you buy the exhaust through them :)
Great video, long awaited 😍😍🙏🙏 I also watched the other guy in US with Acrapovic already installed and he says the dealer also made additional engine remapping. Is that needed?
Thanks , yeah the bike gets a re map from Ducati when you install it , and yes it needs it
Sounds sick! What where the work hours to put in on the bike ?
Yeh it’s awesome It sounds even better in person, I guess to remove the standard exhaust and then fit the new one is around 4hrs
I have a Red One over here in US California. Does this require a reprogram of the tune?
Oh nice, yeah when you buy it from Ducati you get a map for it which they install at the dealer
Great Job !!! How many hours to fix it ?
Thanks , I think they are around 4 hours to remove the standard exhaust and fit the new exhaust
What sounds better, this or the Panigale 4VS with the Akra ?
Only you can decide that , they both have a different sound, but each sound suits each bike .. all depends on what you like I guess
It's a lovely sound !!! you charge how many hours to do it?
Yeah and sounds so much better in person, I think they are around 4 hours to remove the standard exhaust and fit the new exhaust , thanks
I don't like the bike but this exhaust is next level. I love it !
The exhaust is awesome , I really like the Diavel V4 to ride, personally I like it in black
Forget pills. In time you will do more damage
Thanks , glad you enjoyed the video … ha yeah the heartburn has always been a problem , thanks for the advice and I will try it out and see how I get on , appreciate it :)
@@ProjectMoto mine gone away and for years not had it after doing this method for a few months
@@hakanozdemir6113 sound like a dream, perfect , thanks
I'm not into bikes but this sounds awesome where abouts was this?
Yeah sounds so good, even better in person.. Ducati Chelmsford (UK)
Was never a fan of the old diaval but love the look of the new v4, that exhaust is sound is amazing.
You know I liked the 1260s , and if you wanted to ride around the twisty roads with sports bikes you could if you man handled it a bit, but this new V4 really does handle nice now.. and yeah sounds awesome with the exhaust
Sounds terrific….BUT… is it road legal, or track only ???
Well it is the race system so it’s for the track really
What air filter are you running with your Akra setup?
i think they are just the standard air filter on the install on these
Is it direct bolt only or do you need a tune for it
You get a Map from Ducati for the bike when it’s installed at a dealers or if you buy it from a dealer ask them first but they should be able to upload it for you
Hi, I know you have VFR NC30 which I love the V4 sound of it (kind of close to Aprillia).
@@ProjectMoto Thanks for your reply! Looking forward to the follow
-up video. Yours is most comprehensive amongst TH-cam!
it is a serious update to the sound, that's for sure, but can't quite understand why it sounds like a 2 cyclinder bike even though it is a V4 even with Akrapovic, somehthing to do with Ducati? I am new to the exaust sounds but take an MT09 or a kawasaki zx6r with a full akrapovic system, they sound like a proper bike if you understand what I mean. if someone pleaase explain, I'll be delighted.
such a beautiful exhaust note from the replacement unit
Yeah it really does change it and sounds so much better in person , awesome 😎
That Exhaust sounded amazing
Yeah it completes the bike , it really is great to ride.. and now the sound matches the bike
Wow.. what a f**kin difference.. sounds mental and finally sounds like a beast
Mate it’s just what this bike needed , awesome :) if you like Hypermotard’s check out this guys channel :)
@@ProjectMoto 🤛🏼🤛🏼
Does it need a remap with the akra
Yeah you get the map from the Ducati dealer you buy it from , they will install the map after the exhaust is installed
So when the v4s comes out you will be looking at north of £30,000 with the Akra?
Yeah I would think so.. if they do an S version it’s got to be a couple of grand more then the standard one I guess
Sounds good. I just did a khrome werks full exhaust on my HD road glide 😮
Yeah it sounds good , HD’s always sound loud with a system too :)
Wow! What an awesome looking and sounding Akrapovic exhaust 🤙
Yeah I looks so cool, and sounds so good in person 😎
sounds like a turbo bike with open pipe i love it
the sound its like a 1000hp engine
Yeah and it’s a lot louder in person, it’s awesome 😎
Sounds great, was that baffles in or out?
That’s still with the baffles in.. and the mics on the cameras are muffling the sound as well.. it sounds awesome in person :)
So how do you compare sound between SF V2, SF V4 and new Diavel? Which one is louder? Love the vid
Well they are all different for sure, with the systems on them ,for me anyway, the V2 has a nice roar when you open the throttle form down low and down shifting a sounds so good, the SF V4 is crazy popping on the shifter up and down, high in the revs it’s off the scale and this Diavel has a really nice deep sound and pop when you shift up (cameras couldn’t really pick that up) .. all awesome in their own way, guess it just depends on what kinda sound you like
@@ProjectMotoould you sy that in term of sound level the diavel v4 with akra is less noisy than than the sfv4 with akra or pretty much the same ?
Thst is one of the best exhausts I've heard. Must upgrade to a new Diavel.
Its awesome but it really does sound better in person, and the New Diavel is awesome to ride
@@ProjectMoto I'll have to pop to Chelmsford to have a listen, lol
Are you going to have Paul's 'Pipe handling gloves' in your merch?! I had to re-watch 'cos I was laughing too much to hear that brilliant exhaust. Fantastic vid as always. Cheers chaps.
Ha we could do as he has so many..he changes them regular, he has to 😂 thanks :)
Has it got ‘Not for road use’ written on it?
Errr possibly.. tbh I didn’t have my glasses on 😂.. but I will have a look when I’m back at the shop
As I already ordered it, I’m not liking the thought of that Cr#p written all over it..
Hey thanks for the video, It sounds amazing.
No problem, thanks for watching , it certainly does sound amazing .. so much louder and better in person :)
Omeprazole, is used for type2 Diabetes. Also for weight loss I think.
I have s few ducatis, mvs and Italian sports cars, absolutely love Italian machines. But I can't for the life of me justify 5 grand for this exhaust 🤔
Never the less a great video, thanks
Nice, yeah the Italians certainly know how to do it, yeah it’s a lot of money for sure.. but it is awesome 😎 Thanks :)
I was sold, and I will have mine installed tomorrow, and now I'm Really looking forward to this weekends fun run, I hope I can behave myself; not >.< Keep The Shiny Side Up...
Wow , seriously the sound of this in person is a lot louder.. just sounds awesome .. enjoy :)
If you don’t mind me, asking, what was the install time? I think my dealer is charging me too much.
Tbh we have only got one as we are waiting for some more to arrive I think it was 3 or 4 hrs or something like that ??
sounds great but these prices are getting silly for pipes.
Yeh it does , it’s a lot of money for sure , forget the exhaust is £5k… just think the Diavel V4 is £28.5k now in total … oh wait that’s still a lot 🤔
@ProjectMoto I guess all the time they sell the price will rise. The Akra for my v4 is over 6k and I'm dubious it wont pass track noise levels so I'm staying standard for now....but it sounds pants.
@@davehowlett7147 the Ducati Track days at Donington & Silverstone you would be ok with the system or if you can find a Noisy day somewhere but yeah they usually push them over the noise limit
killer sounds. Mine is done last week. I love it.
Awesome , it sounds so good , the mic’s can’t really pick it up how good it sounds
@@ProjectMoto how did you record the sounds? Thanks mate
@@sadeshdmd it’s only on my camera/go pro .. unfortunately they are always trying to muffle loud noises so you can’t really here how good and loud this actually sounds
That amazing sound brought a tear to my eye!
Yeah it is for sure.. would bring anteater to my wallet 😂😂
Привет из России, хочу сказать Akrapovic безусловно дает новые эмоции этому мотоциклу, надо покупать)
Definitely.. what he said is very true
there is reason why everyone adores and wants full akrapovič set for their bikes and cars. expensive stuff though.
They are made so well , look and sound great but yeah it is at a cost
We Slovenian’s can make more than pastries.
Thanks for the video sir.
Hold on wait you make pastries too .. Mmmm, are they better then your exhausts?? If so they must be amazing , Thanks :)
As nice as it sounds, and it sounds absolutely awesome, it's expensive!
Yeah it’s expensive for sure… the problem is if you have a Diavel V4 and one pulls up next to you with this exhaust… your going to wish you spent the extra money
How it can be full exhaust if it has catalytic?!
It doesn’t have a catalytic converter, it’s the full race system
@@ProjectMoto ok. On video it look like it has
What is that blue truck?
It’s a custom VW Beatle
What a noise!!...luv the kitchen chats👍
Ha yeah sometimes the noise in the kitchen gets a bit.. oh the noise of the bike , yeah it’s awesome in person :) thanks
August for mine + Akra , cant wait.
Awesome , very jealous , it’a a really good bike .. and has the sound to match it with the Akra.. seriously it sounds a lot louder in person
Wow thats a mental bike, sounded wicked.I reckon i would sooner have the monster sp for nearly half the cash though. Mart i get those tablets too (omprezole) i found ASDA is the cheapest.
Yeah it’s a lot of money and your right you could have something half the price.. I do like the Monster SP, thanks.. off to Asda it is 😂
