      Thank you, hopefully it will be enough to keep us off grid as much as possible.

    Great work guys! Can you set the cat amongst the pigeons and tell us why you Parallel Vs Series?

    • @BradandJaz
      @BradandJaz  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha I’ve read so much and there are so many different opinions, we just chose one and went with it 😂 I was most concerned about the potential shading issue, although you can find positives for series aswell.

      Im going parallel also because of the fact that if ive got even a slight amount of shade from an awning across 1 or 2 or 3 panels ..boom there goes the series efficiency and pretty sure my awning will have shade on the panels. So i but the bullet too and went parallel
      Im Going with the bushwakka extreme darkness 270 not the traditional grey nomad fiamma ;)
      Just my 2 cents haha

      Ah yes, makes sense. No one wants to park in full sun all the time in Australia 🤣
      @ssandyvan3692 funnily enough I'm looking at awnings right now. The Fiamma is going to suit me best I think, I need the bead for the Dometic inflatable annex.

    Last time I comment and then I'll move on. Why put panels on top of the van ever?. You should have a DC-DC charger from your alternator, which charges your batteries while you're getting to your camp site. So they are charged when you arrive. Park under a tree or shade if there is one. In Oz, makes heaps of sense. Pull out a large, or a couple of large, solar panels and place them away from the van, optimally facing the sun and angled back for the right time of the year. This sustains you during your stay, while the van remains cool. Once back home, you just need a 15W semi-flex panel stuck to a board of Coreflute (Bunnings), stuck to the roof, to keep the batteries topped up while it's parked and not in use. Spend a fraction of your money and time on the DC-DC setup and rid your roof of those ugly, and frankly, poorly performing panels. Better looks and better fuel economy. Cheers.
