    Unglaublich. Einfach Wahnsinn. Sehe gerade zum ersten Mal so ein „Superkart“ und kann nicht fassen, wie schnell ihr damit unterwegs seid. Muss ich ihr mir unbedingt mal live ansehen!

      Ich bin schon über 220km/h geflogen, aber diese Geschwindigkeit so zu fahren muss ein wahnsinns Gefühl sein. Bin neidisch 😂

    The throttle-blip was controlled by the gearbox?I mean I didn't see the throttle indicator up and down. By the way, stunning overtaking.

    • @jostmotorsport
      @jostmotorsport  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - thanks! No the throttle is controlled by the movement of the gas pedal, we do use a potentiometers there.

      No I have not but sure would like to, unfortunately its not very popular in Canada. I did get a chance to try an F125 shifter cart once and just loved it and would very much like to have a chance at trying a F250 twin.

      The cars are all the same, do you want that in F-1? Then it would become Indy cars & E-Racing & NASCAR. F1 is about INNOVATION...so is LP-1.

    hi mate, I notes your water temp is pretty much an ideal 50 deg C, what kind of thermostat or system are you using

    • @jostmotorsport
      @jostmotorsport  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paul - we do not use a thermostat. I only have the possibility to open and close the side radiator.

    modify the gear lever so that you dont have to take your hand of the steering wheel to shift, i always modified mine ,the guy you overtook for 4 place had some of the strangest lines

    • @kartdriver84
      @kartdriver84 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan. I actually don't have a problem with the fact to steer with one hand only in some corners ;) Used to this from KZ Karting.

    • @alancollard8939
      @alancollard8939 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi andreas,i raced shifters from 1965 till 1990, we would bend the shift lever so all you would do is use your thumb as a anchor on the wheel and squeeze , that way we could power shift the first lap with out missing a gear , in the uk we started racing on motor race circuits in 1968, many of us wouldnt race on a kart circuit, so we developed the karts you have today . , we tried everything from laydowns to full bodies ,wings , moveable wings you name we tried it , it was the tires that changed superkarts and killed it for me , so i went car racing it was cheaper

    • @kojack635
      @kojack635 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ALAN COLLARD Cars are cheaper than superkarts?

  • @jacobjackson7458
    @jacobjackson7458 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So fast and exhilarating! Do you ever have thoughts of the lack of safety and restraints? It would be good if the karts have restraints and roll bars. A comparable car of this speed would have Hans roll cage etc.

    • @kartdriver84
      @kartdriver84 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jacob - sure from time to time you think about that, however it's racing and motorbikes don't have that either :)

    They should have rocket assist on these things. For when you want to pass somebody on the straight. Hit the switch. Go from 120 mph to 890 mph in less than three seconds. Whoosh!

    • @Draylogic
      @Draylogic 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Felipe Meñaca No. He goes from 150 to 100 KPH by lifting the throttle... If a kart that can do 1/4 of the speeds this can do has brakes then why wouldn't this :)

    • @jostmotorsport
      @jostmotorsport  8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      You mean because there is no activity on the sensor? We don't have a brake sensor attached therefore you don't see when I'm braking :) But for sure you need them a lot :)

    someone please explain that shifter to me. it looks like a slap stick, but it appears he pushes in the same direction at moments for up and down shift..

    • @jostmotorsport
      @jostmotorsport  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate. It works exactly like in short track kart races (KZ category). Means you pull the stick to shift up and you push to shift down. All without using the clutch, simply reducing the amount of throttle you give. Some drivers also use automatic sensors to shift up - then you can stay on full throttle while shifting up and the sensor simply cuts the ignition for a short while. Hope this helps!

    • @treatb09
      @treatb09 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andreas Jost ya, that is what i thought, but i swear it looked like he was pushing for up and down shifts at points XD. i was like what the hell, how does that thing work.

      Andreas Jost oh cool, thanks for the reply, i really enjoy the video though, nice racing. watching your strategy, give and take, pushing it but at sometimes it was struggle. good stuff. sometimes i think this is where f1 was heading with the low lines, getting ever smaller and more capable lol.

    • @kartdriver84
      @kartdriver84 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly front and rear exhaust temperature. Sorry mate didn't got it in first instance :)

    • @juliolausell4399
      @juliolausell4399 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok. So I still need a little help here. (Hi) is one cylinder temp, maybe the front one? (Vo) or (Vc) I can't tell the letters are so small, is the temp. of the other cylinder? Do you know what these symbols stand for?

    • @jostmotorsport
      @jostmotorsport  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Julio. Exactly Hi is abbr. in german for "hinten" means "rear". Therefore Vo is front. Cheers
