People just don't understand fear. It's not his fault that he is afraid. What is he doing is he is doing his best to overcome that fear, and that deserves respect. Also, he's just a kid.

Evrett this is so true! I use to have a pet dog when I was really little. One day I went to my cousins house and my older cousin had this extremely hairy dog teddy bear that they would throw on me and scare me with. Keep in mind I hate hairy things, they look gross and creep me out. So ever since then I've been scared of dogs. I really want to get over my fear because I'm a young adult now and I don't want to look a fool in public because of dogs.
The same people mocking the boy for being afraid would probably be dripping with sympathy if it it had ben a video of a frightened, shaking dog. Why not empathy for both?

My phobia is that bad that I take other routes with my bike to avoid dog parks and dog areas. After I know them, that theyre ok and kind. I am obsessed with them and they become my best friend.

Denimso I grew up with all sort of dog personalities. Even though i like dogs, there are many in my neighbor hood i have had incounters with. because I set myself as a more dominant presence than the dogs, they've learned to not charge at me. i am not afraid to hurt dogs that attack me
I am a full sized adult and I love dogs, but I am so scared of them. I wish someone would have trained me like this, the kid is awesome and the instructor as well.
22 years ago I was almost killed by 2 Rottweilers and I developed a phobia of large dogs. Eventually I faced my fear and now I have dominated my phobia

Many people are scared of rats, but I actually got seriously bit by a rat (like blood pouring out of the wound serious) and I'm still not afraid of them. In fact, I have 7 pet rats at the moment haha. I've also been bitten by snakes before and I still handled massive 20ft long, tree-trunk-thick pythons without fear. 🤷

Totally relate to this kid. I'm not a dog fan either. Also, I wouldn't really call fear of dogs a phobia because its not really hindering your life. A dog is just another animal. You don't necessarily need to be around them to live your life and its okay if you don't want them around you.

I remember not thinking about it much and my siblings called me heartless for not crying but now that I think about it I regret being afraid of her.

Listen I know there’s some people that have fears that sound irrelevant and hard to deal with sometimes especially when your around that person. But you have to know it’s not there fault, everyone has there fears, especially if your a kid. Some of us were raised in tougher environments where we were raised with it or had to deal with it, but not everyone is raised the same. It’s normal for kids to have fears, and at one time when we were kids when we had to deal with our fears and we probably sounded like little brats too
I grew up TERRIFIED of dogs. Not because I personally had a bad experience (other than being chased), but because my dad told me he was bitten by a dog when he was little. My dad was never afraid of dogs and owns 2 American Bullies. I’m still a little weary around bigger dogs and untrained dogs. I own a dog of my own and he’s so perfect. I’m glad I’ve been able to grow beyond my fear.

My mom also used to have a fear of dogs, until she met Canelo. That cocker was a straight up lady and insanely intelligent, she even walked herself to the vet. I wish I could have met her. She still has a few issues with overenthousiastic or large dogs but she's not afraid anymore.

I like that caesar re-directs Mason's learning of Canine behaviours to distinguish between playing & aggression. If he does not know the differences his perception is through a lens of "unknowing" and he will judge that species from the only lens he has, which is human. Each species has their own social behaviours, the child needs to learn these to increase his acceptance of these creatures and develop a confidence of his own self amongst a diverse eco-system.

give the dog a chance, if you are scared then that's ok. If you try a calm dog first and close your eyes it will be easier after the dog sniffs you you walk away. repeat this over a long period (days, months, years) and you will get over it

Edit: Before people think I am mocking him i am not. Even I used to have a fear of dogs but once I got my own it went away. Trust me I know how it feels.

I used to be scared of dogs till I was about 20yrs old. Now I love all dogs. I love playing with dogs they're really fun now...
I remembered when I was little and I was helping my father at his job then out of nowhere the company dog ran after me and tackled me to the ground... I was 7 years old and scared of dogs so I was panicking. Then I met this new girl that came on my block named Veronica. I always wanted to go and play with her but she had a dog of course. She told me how she loved dogs and so then that summer I decided to face my fears and went to my dads job and faced the dog that traumatized me. In my encounter I realized that dogs are more afraid of us than we are afraid of them. I ended up dating Veronica in middle school then she broke up with me by the swing sets at recess because her dog didn’t like me... beware of girls with the name Veronica and who have dogs
Seems like a sweet kid; I hope he's conquered it. I had an experience with a dog years ago as a kid - messed me up for a bit. Took a while to get over it.

I can relate to you kid. I was terrified of dogs when I was a kid because as a kid I was chased a couple times by a dog. Still have some fear today, definitely a lot better than when I was a kid.

My mom also used to have a fear of dogs, until she met Canelo. That cocker was a straight up lady and insanely intelligent, she even walked herself to the vet. I wish I could have met her. She still has a few issues with overenthousiastic or large dogs but she's not afraid anymore.

Heaven johnson usually it begins with a trauma, like being bitten. When you're young, too, a dog that size is nearly as big as you, and it could inflict some damage if it had a mind to. A little fear keeps us safe, but phobias need help to overcome

I can relate to this kid...i am 26yrs old but had couple of bad experiences with 2 dogs and the owners were more responsible for it...but somehow that fear still persists...
Ye last night i went to the shop and there was 1street dog that passed by me and there were also other people sitting there near the shops so when it started to come near me it wasnt looking aat me i stayed calm but there was fear in me but the dog wasnt looking at me it passed by me by 1meter i was too scared ngl

I like that caesar re-directs Mason's learning of Canine behaviours to distinguish between playing & aggression. If he does not know the differences his perception is through a lens of "unknowing" and he will judge that species from the only lens he has, which is human. Each species has their own social behaviours, the child needs to learn these to increase his acceptance of these creatures and develop a confidence of his own self amongst a diverse eco-system.

@@superlululuna1629 Bruh you really are stupid some dogs are very aggressive they will bite you and dogs that have a rabies don't wanna play or sniff your feet they wanna bite you.

my mum just shouts at me and gets mad at me foe being scared of dogs ;-; 😟
give the dog a chance, if you are scared then that's ok. If you try a calm dog first and close your eyes it will be easier after the dog sniffs you you walk away. repeat this over a long period (days, months, years) and you will get over it
