Can someone tell me how they got the bottom mark for the centre line of the scarf cut? They do not explain it in the video. They just called it the midpoint.
Dear, very good video. There is a point that I can not understand after seeing several tutorials. What is the opening or measure that the transporter must have when they copy the perfect curvature so that the upper trunk fits over the lower one when the corners are inserted? Could someone answer me? Buenos Aires Argentina Thank you!
Flat wood surfaces will mold against eachother. Having a thinner strip around the bottom log will help it breathe. Gives also pressure to the important places holding the wind. And it will not have a natural look. If the curve is nicely around the other log it creates a obstacle for the wind blowing into the insulation between logs.
Find the diameter by measuring the circumference, or distance around, the log. Then use C=2”pi” r, where r is the radius. Then use this to solve for r. So if the circumference is 10” the radius, or the center of the circle, is 1.59.
This is the best instruction I have found on how to do this! Thank you for posting!
Finally after watching 30 different videos, somebody is going to explain how to build a log cabin!
Absolutely fantastic. Can't thank you enough 🙏

Thank you!
Where can i get one of those curved base planers?
Top 👌🙏
Why not straighten the log in the sawmill up and down before the assembly?

really cool, practical video
sorry i dont understand how to calculate the deeper of the notch? minute 2.00. the mid point how to found?
Costantino Lenzi it’s the center of the log

Parabéns
You can learn more about it on woodprix website I think.
I made it by myself. I used woodprix woodworking plans for that.
