This is the start of a fascinating discussion @1:40 I seem to be sensitive to certain woody chemicals. In Xerjoff's Erba Pura after a few minutes I simply can't smell anything other than a sharp woody smell. I got it on a textile watch band and it took weeks and multiple washes before it stopped driving me crazy.

I bought a sample of Pas Ce Soir Extrait. Good lord...that fragrance keeps getting stronger by the minute. Amazing fixative. I love how it smells, but it's too much of a good thing, ha-ha.😅
I too really enjoy most of what BDK has, but also thought this was a bit thin. I love smoky fragrances, but this needs a touch more density...for me anyway. Great review...keep em coming!
This perfume has a nostalgia to it that seems very North American, it's like the most old fashioned, gourmet, hand made batch of a root beer, cola, or maybe even sarsaparilla. The kind of drink that would cost you $12 today in a small hipster-y burger place. Probably ridiculously specific, but the small sample size of brits (2 on youtube, 1 in real life) that I have seen react to it just didn't make that connection, whereas Americans almost always say "root beer". I love this one because of the root beer vibe, but also I love cherry and smoky fragrances, yet smoky seems to go very, very, very smoky on my skin and Rouge Smoking is one of the few that keeps to "slightly" smoky instead of turning me into a campfire. Thank you for your reviews! They have helped me understand fragrances a little bit more and have been invaluable in understanding my own taste and the vibe I would like to project.

As an "old fashioned "man I never thought I could be interested in Perfumes/scents but I saw your take on Montblanc Explorer and Encre Noir my two go to scents and I am now hooked. What I like about this channel is he’s not getting paid for these reviews which is best. We get an honest opinion of a real perfumer . You are the best although sometime I believe we are left to decide for if we would want to try a perfume but he can spot value for money, performance , natural ingredients etc which is best . Other guys would tell oh this perfume go buy it’s flying and by the time you go the website price hikers already jacked it up so don’t buy because of those TH-camrs . Thank you Aaron .
I do love watching your reviews and I think you should pin this one to the top. Possibly consider editing it as an intro to you and how you think and create perfumes because I found it fascinating. I had suspected your non-verbal communication style as some kind of Mental mapping and you explained it exactly as I interpret it. Well done and I’m really hope for one day I can find the opportunity to sample all of your actual perfumes.
The Limbic System is indeed fascinating. Like Orange Blossom oil over dry Papyrus in a bookstore, the brain stores emotions along with the environment in which it manifested, connecting the scent to a memory when the mood is right.
I wasn't keen on this fragrance to start, but I bought the sample set and of the three, I found this one empty long before the other two. I ended up getting a bottle of it. It's a slow addiction. At first I was put off by the memory of Big Red cinnamon gum. But after a few wears it started hitting differently. Now it's one of my favorite perfumes for mildly chilly days. What I found amazing is that when Aaron sees the chemicals/atoms in their molecular structure of the perfume, say like a tetrahedral, they move in 3D. Which only says his chemistry intelligence is on another level.

ATH is an artist, truth be told I always wanted an amazing cherry fragrance but everything I tried was too fem or didn't last long enough. Raw Cherry was exactly what I was looking for with giving me the cherry vibe with a rugged backbone that lasted for days.
The smiking of the name refers to the frac, or YSL tuexido! That is tge inspirantion, together with a "Pigalle's daughter", Pigalle being the district of red lights and burlesque in France

When a perfumer does not care about money and loves to make people happy is the mark of a true artist.

I've got deviant, It's the only leather fragrance I like, I find the leather in it quite mild.
after having gris charnel edp and extrait, I had to try rouge smoking, I ended up loving it as well, gret perfumery house !

I think you need to try Terroni by Orto Parisi. Smokey and sweet fragrance that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should.

They are, I contacted the brand and they told me. Rouge Smoking extrait is coming in Autumn 2024.
I get a cozy Vanilla Coke but still perfume, slightly powdery on the dry down. I don’t get the cherry on my skin
